The difference between SSFIV and MK/MvC3 is that it is a little challenging to play with a controller instead of a arcade/fight stick. But, this video made it so I can play and not have a hard time. Thanks so much TBirdsSF4!

Hi, just wanted to swing by to say that I find your tutorials very insightful, but unfortunately I can't stomach your accent for more then a couple of minutes.I hope this does not offend you, as I am german myself, and I know that most germans don't get the english pronunciations right. This is too bad, because apart from that, I really like your presentation.
I'll check out this series. Thanks for the upload.
I know a bunch of theoretical Street Fighter, but I am absolutely terrible at actual playing... I have NEVER won a match in any fighting game ever except for a single game of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix with Chun-Li, but even after having played Street 4, Super Street 4 and AE online for several hours I still have 0 BP.
i need help with ultra attack i cant do it it makes norma/super attack but not ultra what am i doint wrong i do the buttons it tells me to do pls help
Why can't I ever find a decent tutorial... Every tutorial I have seen thus far is pretentious and expects you to understand all of the basics of the game already... Why can't someone list what the icons mean in the combo menu? What the fuck is the circle thing with the Z? Wtf does it mean when it shows 3 kick icons? what's the difference between that and when they're stacked? I don't get it... Such a pretentious community...
@zombiekidcrazy The online is entirely different than what you expect. They give great tips on the SRK forums, but they're useless, for the most part. Mostly because at lower levels (Hah, by that I mean 800-900, since I've yet to see another player below 100 PP) everyone just spams hadoukens, or guards and retaliates when you get near, and just negate fireballs and chip at you to attempt a time-out.
@RoadFoxProductions you can play with a regular controller but if you have the money I would recommend getting an arcade stick, it gives you more control. Or you could buy a fightpad but I'm not really a fan of those.
Hey thanks! I am gonna watch your video series because I never touched a fighting game since the Arcade days. I moved from a town with a amazing arcade with Street Fighter 2 so when I moved I picked up this game and I dont understand the game. Is there a certain controller recommended for this game?
Thanks a lot for this video. It helps people like me who are really interested in the scene to begin to somewhat understand the game.
I just want to make sure I understand something about links though. I get that cancels can basically be button mashed, but for links, what kind of timing am I looking for? Do I hit the next move as soon as the animation for the first one is over?
ive never even played a fighting game, played this for 10 minutes, hated it, a month later i watched this, got back on it, and i am starting to enjoy it. thanks.
totally worthless...! there is no video of showing how to press buttons on dualshock controller, not everyones lucky like u to own fight stick, i did not get here in India & not able to purchase it online due to some bank issues. show the button press video for PS3 dualshock which i can work on and actual button press video not fight video. im sorry for being angry, but noone able to play it fluently on dualshock nor there are any videos for that, thats rediculous...
@ashugtiwari The controls on PS3 are as follows: Square = LP (light punch/jab) Triangle = MP (medium punch/strong) R1 = HP (heavy punch/fierce) X = LK (light kick/short) Circle = MK (medium kick/forward) R2 = HK (heavy kick/roundhouse) L1 = PPP (all 3 punches simultaneously; LP+MP+HP) L2 = KKK (all 3 kicks simultaneously; LK+MK+HK) On the 360: X = LP Y = MP RB = HP A = LK B = MK RT = HK LB = PPP RB = KKK On PC: A = LP S = MP D = HP Z = LK X = MK C = HK F = PPP V = KKK
one thing about ssf4 that I dont get is the timing from light to med and so on, for example, one of the trials for most characters is light punch to med punch, even though i do the combo, the second attack is always blocked, even though I hit the buttons at the fastest I can without going too fast, is there a visual cue that I can use? it just seems random to when my combos land
If the hits don't connect, your timing is wrong. If you have problems with a certain link, look for a trial mode video for the character you are trying to learn here on youtube. This way, you can get a feeling for the timing.
If you're watching this video, chances are you suck just as bad as I do. I'm a very decent Tekken and I can defeat higher ranks, but in SF I just suck! Thanks for making these videos to help!
TOTAL noob question but how do I do ultras? I'm trying to do Hakan's ultra but can't figure it out. I see how in the book (2 fullround circles + LMH punch) but not sure how... Sorry for the noob question but I really don't know.
@WillyTung Set your buttons, put one of the Bumpers as "LPxMPxHP" Then just do two fullround sways and press your LMH Punch button and it should work.
Can someone tell me how i can use moves which require you to move the control stick twice in the same direction. For example, if im ken, i can do a hadoken by swiping the analogue stick from the bottom to the right and any punch but on the command list it says you need to move the stick twice and i do that but in the end it comes out as a normal hadoken. Any help is appreciated...
Extremely helpful! there's no way I would of learned all of this through trial and error, and the game itself along with the manual barely scrape the surface.
thank you! this videos were extremely helpful, but purely out of curiosity, where are you from? you sound like some of my swedish relatives, but sometimes there's an unrecognizable accent that i cant place.
very good guide you solved my problem while trying to link i was chaining cr lp cr lp instead of linking them thank you so much...now just gota get them timing down or linking
On a more serious note, EVERY new player should watch this tutorial series. I've been playing SF since it first came to arcades. Stopped around SF: 2nd impact being released in arcades and havent touched it since. These videos are amazingly helpful for completely new players as well as people like me who are returning to the series after literally years :D.

@gamerx112 Yep, and some of them are VERY difficult, and unrealistic to try and use in an actual match. You do not need to master all of those trials to be good at SF4. In fact many of the greats dont use any of those uber complex combos.
1 thing...if u use a 360 or PS3 controller it might be hard to do a cr. kick or punch cancel into shoryuken....I do this like this...Jump, hard kick as I do the hard kick my controller joystick stands between down and right (or down, keft) then I kick...do the punch, kick and then I turn the joystick to the right, then down (or down, right), and right again...then he do the shoryuken^^
Very helpful video tutorial thank you. I never really understood chaining, and cancelling very well. I really appreciate the work put into explaining this.
Wow. That's what I have been doing wrong. I have noticed that in the beginning when I used Dudley, I was able to (what i thought was comboing) cr. lp, cr. lp, jet uppercut, quite easily....these days i can't do it anymore...all that will come out is a mgb after the first two cr.lp. They were coming out like that because I was chaining instead of linking. Thank you TBird.
Great video, you explained the game's combo mechanics very well. As a new player, I'd definitely agree with your assessment that linking is the most difficult type of combo in regards to execution, but thanks to your video I'm definitely learning.
