Bravi! It' was very great moment for both of them..., real vocal chemistry and supporting each other when performing.Rolando was her true friend and real stage partner... there's still no partner like him for her.. very sad.
wow, was there really silence in the audience after that or this OP remove the applause? stunning... i hope the aud. really held the silence with them.
Traviata - Ms. Netrebko displayed ample power, coloratura bravura with a marvelous tone Having recently heard Natalie Dessay sing Sempre Libera at the Met Gala, one was impressed by the legato nature of Netrebko's portray in contrast to Dessay's intentional staccato, fragmented phrasing interpretation. Having also seen photos of Fleming in her current Violetta at the ROH, one can only marvel at Netrebko's resilience, endurance and commitment to bel canto opera.

Comparing them to Pavarotti & Sutherland overlooks the fact that opera is not just about singing. Pavarotti never could act, and both of them are rather unconvincing lovers, aren't they? These two sing beautifully, and also look and act the part.
@Fatgeologist: are you joking or what? you are comparing this duo to one of the greatest duo's in the history of opera?? you must be tone deaf to compare Villazon's quality to Pavarotti's...! And come on...the essential of Opera IS the singing....
Oh well, whatever. Pavarotti and Sutherland would be excellent on record, but I think to play passionate young lovers on stage, you have to look the part too. Even if Pavarotti looked the part, he couldn't act to save his life. Oh, and Netrobko is a babe, isn't she?
I have had see this full inscenierung of Salzburger Festspiele. No other pruduction is better. Two persons also who look nice and so is only concentrated to this sinders. Thank you for that Video.
this is such a beautiful and sad duet. i think while these two aren't the best singers ever to grace the stage, they interpret it well and bring out the emotion in it.
thugman30...I love her voice and dynamics...catch Renee' Fleming's version of La Traviata from the Royal Opera, Netrebko wins hands down...besides she's beautiful and wouldn't even speak to some called thugman30. or 40, or 1000. Be quite and enjoy, no one made you listen to Anna
Netrebko is the worst. She has no depth, sounds like a popera singer, no variety of tones when she changes dynamics. She rarely changes dynamics and poor enunciation of the lyrics.
Il y a ceux pour qui "la mariée est toujours trop belle" et qui crachent dans la soupe! Ils sont magnifiques tous les deux, vocalement, dramatiquement, s'engagent à fond. C'est tout simlement superbe!!
One of the best performances of ''Traviata'' ever. And the stage is fantastic, nothing there to draw your attention, just pure music. And two of them are so convincing, hardly acting at all, it looks so real.
I just watched the DVD. Great opera!!!

Deux très beaux et très bons artistes...qui font honneur à Verdi...Villazon était très en voix...en 2005....et très amoureux aussi...

This man R. Villaon is a funny looking guy and Netrebko is a cold doll; interessting, that people go for that.
They are shallow charakters and in absolutely incredulous.
