@drummifier The 2002 SS doesn't have a governer. I have one and got it topping out (completely stock) at 145 mph. I kicked a Eclipse ass and a Corvette. Raced a 2011 mustang gt and got my ass ripped in half though lol

So basically, it will increase top speed by removing the ECU governor and also will let you hit higher RPM's by taking off the rev limiter. stuff like that. pretty much because your fans. rev limiter, top speed, and shifts (if automatic) are all run by your ECU. so yea i would say that would help, but you would really need to know what you are doing and read up on it so you dont fuck your engine lol.

Cartuning Performance makes a Turbo kit specifically for the 3800 motors. Stick one in and get that 4T65 Transaxle upgraded to the 4T65HD and you will have a V6 that will smoke the shit out of a bone stock Corvette and maybe some lightly modded Mustangs/Camaros. The 3.8L L36 engine has strong internals and can generate 400+HP with the turbo kit. The supercharged 3800 L67 engine only gives you about 50 more HP then a normally aspirated L36.

Not with turbo alone. But with performance built heads, intake, cam and tune it can. A 3.8 can safely reach well into the 350ish range even with stock bottom end if built right. The whole issue with beefing up 3.8's is that very few people actually do it to that extreme. But it has been done on the Series 2 3.8's and its just fucking sick to see it work. The Series 1 that went into the 80's Buick Grand Nationals could easily peak over the 400HP mark.

I had a 2001 Monte Carlo SS. I loved it!! they only game with 3.8 V6's but they were fast. I only put a pair of flowmasters on mine with a 3 and half inch tip. I got it past the 140 mph mark, 150 est. I was racing a Lancer Evo, we pretty much tied we both reached our governor.

i had a 2002 monte carlo ss wit aftermarket exhaust and short ram intake and it was pretty fast for being an otherwise stock car. it held its own against turbo civics and imports. the only way they could beat me was on top end cuz mine shut off at 128 but was only revvin like 3000-3200rpm. 3.8 liter motors are bad ass

I have the VS cam. It added about 20-25 HP over my 1.9 rockers that i had. Heads will help kill KR, just like a cam does. They make the engine breath alot better. Heads will make it easier to run smaller pullies.

Fact: N/A 3.8=200 hp

Supercharged 3.8=240 & 280 ft-lbs! not bad and they are not as heavy as you think the Eclispe is slightly lighter. I couldn't believe it myself until I seen the specs of both vehicles!!
