While I grew up with Burning Gundam and Dark Gundam, I prefer God and Devil over it because the narrative makes more sense that way. Plus it was only changed because of all the crying about Deathscythe Hell models being released and the "offense" pinned to it's name, and Sunrise didn't want to deal with it again. So the westernised G Gundam had all religious context modified for the dub.

i always wondered that, why they changed the name of the gundam in america, we are a bit more relaxed with it in the UK but our silly ass government are more bothered about banning christianity in areas that might offend the muslims, and not even allowing patriotism with the st george flag in case anyone gets upset, we cant even live by our own values anymore because of religion :( at least you cleared up the name changing mystery for me, cheers dude :D

I myself did feel a little offended when I found out Burning Gundam was God Gundam and Dark Gundam was Devil Gundam. I didn't give a dang bout Burning, it was Dark Gundam I got pissed off about. What kinda name IS Devil Gundam anyway? It jus didn't fit like "Dark" did. And I loved that mech. Still do.

No matter what, it'll always be the Dark Gundam..in here -points to chest where heart is- in my heart.

Plus I was religious at the time so I was peeved off too, but now I'm over it.

@Hakkun9872, its not Dark Gundam even if they changed it in the English version, does not mean that it is name, well maybe that's ur opinon, but in the matter of Fact the original its called Devil Gundam, that's like changing Domon's name to Thomas just like some of the old anime back then that were censored which was horrible, also Devil sounds a lot more better than Dark, come on man.

Do you even know why I prefer Dark over that other name? Its cause I grew up with it in my head! I saw the dub, not the sub, so I have Dark Gundam as a precious childhood memory. Way I see it, you saw the sub first, then saw the dub. Or you jus like the japanese version better. That's why you like devil over Dark.

Devil gundam isnt ment as a bad thing but its a metaphor for the evil and cruppted things that has happened and morphed the ultiment gundam into an acursed debakary of a symbol to destroy humanity but bring back everything thay destroyed. thats why every time the dark gundam looked so devilish with all those tenticles and heads floating around. Well when you put it that way, it does make sense. You know, I forgot that it was tryin to bring back everything humans destroyed (nature, trees, etc.) Maybe the thought of it destroying humanity first made me ignore that. But I guess you're right. The name fits.

And yet, I still think back to the days when the narrator guy called it the "Dark Gundam". Ahh, memories. Its either my beliefs or my memories are keepin me from acceptin that gundam's real name. I really don't know.

G Gundam was dubbed in Canada. Over there, they're more afraid of reactions than we are (which is why Beast Wars is called Beasties over there). I believe that if G Gundam were dubbed in America and NOT by 4Kids, there would have been less name changes.

I'm not sure you got my point. In MX portable Domon has both Sekiha Tenkyoken's; the one that's known as 'God Finger Sekiha Tenkyoken plus God Finger', and the one he used to finish of Master Asia: 'Sekiha Tenkyo God Finger'. Only with the latter did he use the Heat End thing. But in AP the put the 'God Finger' part after the normal 'Sekiha Tenkyoken'. Hope this makes any sense to you as I'm pretty tired :P

Makes sense to me. However cool it was, there was rarely call for, or chances for, using the Sekiha Tenkyo God Finger in MX. So, making it a Dynamic Kill (Which it was already one, of sorts, in MX) makes sense.

The only thing I miss from the MX version is that Domon had a beastly yell when he shot the Tenkyo God Finger, but now it just goes straight to "Heat End." Well, Domon's beastly enough that it's awesome anyway.
