  • why do yanks feel the need to 'woo!' and 'woop!' when they get excited?

that is an actual question, feel free to answer!

  • I wasn't aware it was limited to "yanks". I was over on that pathetic little dreary wet turd excuse for a country (Great Britain) last summer and I ran across quite an obnoxious hooligan display. Why do Brits feel the need to 'woo!' and 'woop!' when they get excited?

That is an actual question, feel free to answer!

  • Football hooligans are indeed scummy - but they tend to emit a rather more drunken, lower pitch "waaaah" sort of noise.

I was just wondering why non-drunk Americans make the 'woop' noise, that's all, rather than just clapping or cheering. No offence intended.

  • Who said they were non-drunk? There were thousands of vehicles parked and many of them had coolers next to them. Could there have been beer in them? Let's hope!

  • i think you guys both tie each other for the amount of trailer parks though

  • Yeah, well that's what happens when everyone & their ma wants to live in the same place... population goes up, including population of lower income people.

  • I dunno, don't forget about hurricanes :(

I do love Florida though :)

  • Exactly! Texas has WAY too many hurricanes. Thanks for reminding me. Just another reason why Texas sucks :)

  • Florida owns texas :D and this video is kick ass!!!!!!

  • "Vastly superior"... hmm... better hope there aren't any freakin' Texans around... :p

  • Why not? Florida is superior to Texas. People move IN to Florida, OUT of Texas. Shuttle is launched from Florida, not Texas. Texas is full of polluted smogged-out cities and petroleum puddles. Florida has perfect weather and pollution-free air. When people vacation they go to Florida, not Texas. Miami heat BEAT Dallas for the NBA national championship ON THEIR OWN TURF. Florida Gators also won NCAA national championship, not any Texas school. Florida also has WAY better beaches, food & culture.

  • The sound from the blast off is not heard until 50 seconds in, when it disappears behind the cloud. Since sound travels at 742 mph at sea level, or 12.37 miles per minute, hearing the blast at 50 seconds puts us just over 10 miles from the launch pad.
