As an outsider (a few months in the Philippines) the biggest problem is obviously the corruption in politics but also the grip of the church. Look at a population growth chart for most other nations and then look at one for the Philippines. Poor people have many children to secure their old age and the population is completely unmanageable. They need to focus everything on population control and free education for all. They also need better town planning and not just build anything anywhere.

One of the saddest thing is, most politicians get the money they earned from the Filipino people of our country who are working so hard (including OFWs) for their family's daily needs to survive....90% are through taxes. Yes, we know the government needs the taxes to build projects etc., but this question come into our minds...Where do they really use it? Integrity is indeed very important as a politician, but mostly corrupt ones break that rule.

As an outsider (a few months in the Philippines) the biggest problem is obviously the corruption in politics but also the grip of the church. Look at a population growth chart for most other nations and then look at one for the Philippines. Poor people have many children to secure their old age and the population is completely unmanageable. They need to focus everything on population control and free education for all. They also need better town planning and not just build anything anywhere.

the damn oligarchs will use words like nationalism to prevent economic libralization, they'll say they fear that foreign businesses will destroy local businesses but the truth is that they are just lazy to compete. Then they will question your nationalism if you dont patronize their products, their dumb movies, etc. Govt should be decentralized to decongest Manila. Cities like Davao, Cebu and Vigan should be developed to be at par with Manila and become economic centers on their regions.

'Di ba nga hindi naboto si Gordon dahil sinabi niya yung totoo tungkol sa Pilipinas at 'di yung gustong marinig ng mga tao na tulad ng kay P-Noy? Eh kung ang gawin ng iba ay sabihin muna nila ang gustong marinig ng mga tao sa kanila tapos 'pag nasa posisyon na, tsaka nila ibunyag yung katotohanan, especially sa SONA nila? Oh 'di ba, effective?
