I believe those judges don't know how amazing of the skills Morimoto has. He has a lot of different technique of cook from several different countries. He is truly a very creative & versatile iron chef as well as the other 3 iron chefs in Japan (Chen Kenichi, Hiroyuki Sakai, Rokusaburo Michiba) and it's unbelievable.
The reason why I don't want to watch "Iron Chef America" anymore is because the ridiculous judges. Most of the judges don't really know the real art of cuisine and the taste. They are the people only know what is burger, pizza, steak, chips and so on. It's real sucks.

I DISAGREE with this! FEENIE BARELY had any of the dishes associated with CRAB! It was mostly with other ingredients in them that at least looked OVERPOWERING with the SECRET INGREDIENT. IT'S CALLED "Battle of CRABS." FOR A REASON!

Doesn't necessarily mean there needs to be "Asian" judges (very vague, massive continent term), but I agree this episode featured people who didn't understand the regional cooking. Ideally it would go down to people who know more than just typical country-wide food as well, that is even more local knowledge.
I am happy for Feenie although I dont think his Vancouver food is anywhere near Nobu as for presentation nothing ground breaking Sooke Harbour House food is far more imaginative anyday, I think Edward Tuson should have been the guy to compete with Iron Chefs for Canada or Vancouver. Or Michael Stadtlander both are far more wild chefs then Feenie, IMO, Judges clearly sucked...

Feenie basically made a roast veal! roast veal which you can order in most restaurants, he was scored high for originality! first lady judge need not be a judge...she's very pickle minded!
I personally thought morimoto's plating was a lot better. He used very original and fun plating. Most of the other chef's plating seemed bland and dull. I guess they're harder on the iron chefs?

when japanese are dishonored such as this case, they perform the hurakari, a public demonstration using a knife, they take it, plunge it into there stomach and try to do a full circle. Usually the pain is so escruciating that they can't make the full circle though. I was waiting for morimoto to do it.

feenie probably had the better tasting food in this case, but the judges aren't the brightest bulbs nor sophisticated judges because they didn't understand what originality was. they figured taste and visually appealing and colorful were the same as originality.
i'm not going to comment about the taste because i'm not there to taste it but HOW THE HECK did Morimoto lose to Feenie for the plating? WHAT THE F***???? the melon ball thing, the fondue, the rice with tea and the spoon thing??? Those are much more creative than just a bunch of food on white plates. PS the first lady, Fairchild, loved the presentation of the Sablefish dish, when it's just a bunch of stuff throwed all together into a bowl.

I am seeing alot of people saying that the verdick was skrewed, In one way I do agree, that morimoto should have gotten more on originality, however Feenie took on his dishes with a subtle originality which won the judges. For example the maxi he did in the begging took a simple idea and made it unique with the variety of different sauces to try with and the combination of fish and crab.
Also, morimoto did not do his best this time, usually his dishes are alot more outstanding.

Mori is my favorite Iron Chef, but I agree he loses way more on America than he did on Japan. However, I will be doing my practicum for culinary school at one of Rob Feenie`s restauarants here in Van.
I really feel the judging was skewd. I mean Feenie wins with originality? Seriously? I've had very similar dishs before, with the exception of the panna cotta. With every one of his courses the crab played second fiddle. Who hasn't had a smoked salmon or tuna roll? If I had any italian blood it would be boiling over from all that crap he put on the ravioli. I totally agree with you. originality was a bit stacked. Like c'mon Mori is always original and creative in almost everything he does. His Japanese fusion is really, really good. I've been to his restaurant Morimoto in Florida. Stuff taste great

I agree that the originality was a little stacked. The crab/melon dish should have earned high marks for Morimoto. Mori is my favorite Iron Chef, but I agree he loses way more on America than he did on Japan. However, I will be doing my practicum for culinary school at one of Rob Feenie`s restauarants here in Van.

I really feel the judging was skewd. I mean Feenie wins with originality? Seriously? I've had very similar dishs before, with the exception of the panna cotta. With every one of his courses the crab played second fiddle. Who hasn't had a smoked salmon or tuna roll? If I had any italian blood it would be boiling over from all that crap he put on the ravioli. Feenie is a great chef and I'm not saying Morimoto deserved to win, but come on ORIGINALITY?! 13 for plating? Food Network politics FTL.

Morimoto gets screwed on originality in another battle, which I won't name because some may not have seen it yet. He got 8, the challenger 13 in that category, and Morimoto loses by 1 point. Sheesh.

In other video..... this is like my 5th video that he lost and one win XD and the more I see it, they judge Morimoto to lessen his popularity or something. He lost in his originality almost all the time! what the hell?
