  • that is one fkd up action

  • rubbish ball

  • Yay Harmy bowled a straight ball :p

  • pretty sure this was the last ball of the day..

  • AMERICAN COPY CAT

  • the sound of the croud chearing afterwards is amazing:')

  • i think the commentator probably meant one of the great balls maybe in that ashes series?

  • That's the most annoying bowling action for a straight bowler

  • All the greatest fast balls have been bowled by Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis

the rest are ok i guess

    :p

  • @Keema Naan,

And you're about as impartial as Osama Bin Laden on acid at a Barmitzvah.

Or you have a great sense of irony and humour and irony....?

  • @haydesj

    you just got owned

    twat

  • ...not a great ball....

more like a poor shot. trust this to be english....

  • "Oh , Steve Harmison with a slower ball. One of the great balls"

Do Harmison have a Faster / Heavier / Lighter / Smaller / Bigger ball as well.

  • it's a great BALL for the bowler but not for the batsman

  • Poor batting i would say!

  • it was a very great slow ball the batsman was confused

  • the reason this ball is one of the greats is because it was the last ball of the day

  • harmi sucks donkey balls

  • that was nothing special it's a yorker that someone missed

  • @haydesj Exactly, this is not a great ball!!

  • @haydesj No it's a slower yorker when the batsman is expecting the ball to come down at 85/6 mph and it comes in around 70 something you are going to struggle to pick it up and for a bowler to outsmart the bastman in such a way makes this a very good ball! If I remember correctly it was also an Ashes winning ball! So yes it is one of the greats because of what it meant to the England team and Englishmen alike!

  • @Shappers87 seriously mate i can bowl them it isnt that hard and who cares if they won the ashes from it. the ashes means nothing now it's just an old trophy that should be made into ashes already.

  • @haydesj Lets set a time and place and you can prove how good you are at bowling...should be fun! Do you even know what the Ashes are??? they are ashes you fool! a set of bails to be precise that's why they're called the Ashes! Also you ask any Englishman, Australian or Cricket fan and they'll say that they'd wish they could take part in the Ashes! It's the only 5 Test match Series around too meaning you can lose two tests and still win the series! That makes it a brilliant contest!

  • @Shappers87 Yes a set of bails. I know it is important but there are better cricket teams in the world than england and australia. let them have a go at it because the contest btween australia and england is absolutely fucked now. They are both shit,

  • @Shappers87 also it was bowled by a guy who can't even play county cricket anymore

  • @haydesj he's getting on a bit so it's no surprise he's not in the top rankings any more and will be struggling with injury! Everyone has their prime! Do you even know his name? I mean you listened to the clip as well as watching I presume so you should be able to tell me!

  • @Shappers87 and yeah mate it's steve harmison the one ball wonder for england who never bowled another decent one in his life. Only thing he is recognised for is the fact that he can manage to bowl one to 2nd slip and still have played another game in the english team.

  • @haydesj

*rollseyes* Let me bring to you a certain errr..Mitchell Johnson? Heard of him?

You should look closer at your own team before slagging off other players.

  • @collinslfc hey dumbass mitchell johnson is at least half decent. he can bat and bowl. harmison was a bowler and he couldnt even do that right.

  • @haydesj

    Typical Aussie resorting to insults.

How many times have you seen Harmy bowl? When he's on the top of his game he's outstanding. Remember the 7-12 from 17 overs against West Indies?

    Don't be so stupid.

  • @collinslfc Hey mate I never even said I was Aussie. And that was a hell of a long time ago. The West Indies are nothing now. Their team is nowhere near as good as it used to be.

  • @haydesj

You didn't have to, your profile says you are, unless you are ashamed to admit you are an Aussie now. Must be embarrassing to lose 3 out of the last 4 ashes series huh?

  • @collinslfc No I'm not ashamed and it's not embarrassing. As I said, the ashes are pointless now. England and Australia are shit at cricket. The only thing that keeps it between the 2 is the fact that they WERE the 2 most dominant countries. Now let's face it, the only reason it's still between them is because arrogant pricks won't let other countries fight it out and actually have a good series. BTW I dont know what you are bragging about coz half of ur team are actually South Africans.

  • @haydesj

    HAHAHAH!!!

Funny how the ashes don't matter when you start losing. Of course they matter you complete fool.

And don't bore me with all this South African crap, they qualify to play for England under ICC rules, so don't even go there because it's a waste of your time and a waste of my time.

I'm glad you admit that Australia are shit, because England haven't lost a test series since 2008. Happy days for an England fan.

  • @collinslfc Mate the ashes have never really mattered to me. And England haven't lost because they play 1 test series a year against, as I've pointed out many times, a shit team.

  • @haydesj

what? Okay firstly, just because the ashes doesn't matter to you doesn't make it not important, it just means you're not a loyal supporter.

Secondly, England play 1 test series a year? Are you being serious? England play more test matches than any other team, and shit teams? Well yeah, we have played Australia in 2 series since 2008.

  • Harmison- one erratically shit bowler.

  • Mark Nicholas doing his best to imitate football commentators

  • Brett Lee the new Harmison - according to Bellers...

  • you mean steve harmison's Ball?

  • Ahh, I feel good for Harmison :) He finally understood the concept of line and length :p

That was a good delivery tho

  • that was a good ball slower than his pace, loopy and swung

  • only Michael Clarke could be that useless, seriously...

  • not as good as that 1st ball of the ashes that ended up and 3rd slip at least no one can say it's not swingingit swung that much it was like a boomerang on it;s way back to him

  • yep that was a cracker

  • Hold on. 175-7...that wasn't the score..was it? And that was a slower ball? What, like a changeup in baseball? Looks fast so they swing early?

  • @TheSlevinCalevra yes on all questions. 175 runs, 7 out.

  • @OriginalDaVe How many outs do you get in a game? Do they switch from outfield to batting after every 3 like baseball? I really don't know anything about this sport, but I would like to know.

  • @TheSlevinCalevra unlike baseball, to finish an innings you have to get every single person in the lineup out except the very last (so 10 outs, 11 in a side). In the longer form of the game, called 'Test cricket', there are 2 innings per side due to the number of outs required but it works similarly to baseball, yes.

  • @TheSlevinCalevra There's a great wikipedia article on the differences/similarities between baseball/cricket. Two great sports! Seach for Comparison_of_cricket_and_baseball on Wikipedia :)

  • kya he kamino

  • 90 miles an hour,90 miles an hour,65 MILES AN HOUR!!!!!

    legend

  • I think the ball was great, not because it was a great ball, it just cam at the right moment. I'm not sure Mark meant it to come out the way he intended. It was just a nice piece of bowling when England needed it. Clever piece of bowling rather than a great piece.

  • this game looks fucking retarded

  • @smokeseeds u sound fucking retarded..

  • a great ball for a pom yes ... but average for any other cricketer

  • One good tour and suddenly he is one of the greats

  • Harmison has to be the disappointment of the decade for England. Big hands, tall, long arms, great for fast bowling. Born with this but let England down many times. Anyhow, good job in 2005 Steve.

  • @m1trekker what are you talking about? have you not heard of a pakistani called Mohammad Sami?

  • Well if this was one of the great balls..i wonder what ud think of a waqar younis yorker or a murli ripper..

  • baseball is pretty barbaric if you think about it.

you hit a ball that is thrown at you with a club and then you run.

but you'd come to expect that much from america.

  • @nemi86 truer words havent been spoken :P

  • he he he he... balls.. lol.

  • @KEShalid hehe.

  • grow up

  • cricket is baseball for gay people.

  • @TheCicero199 baseball is for American pricks who can't play real sports

  • @NickCaddick america plays sports that no one else plays so then they can call themselves "world champions" and get there massive ego's a good massage.

cricket is the most pure and traditional of all sports, something that americans would have no idea about.

  • @meyv04 agreed

  • @NickCaddick thats a bit harsh isnt it.

  • @GrandpaChink notice the comment was left a year ago

  • @NickCaddick yea i do. You still answered tho. Right?

  • @GrandpaChink that's really not my point...

  • @NickCaddick alright

  • @TheCicero199 Every American Sport invented was copied from a british one e.g: cricket - baseball, rugby - american football

  • @tommyboy9101 rugby wasnt copied from american football

  • @tommyboy9101 it is obvious - American English too is "copied" from British English - but what's wrong if they want to have their own versions of everything - they don't get to win the world Cup like we just did :)

  • nothing like ashes

  • It wasnt by any means a great ball but just an over excited englishman...

  • "Given the moment, given the batsman and given the match, that is a staggering gamble that's paid off for Harmison"

  • we love to see this kind of ball ever and ever

  • lol australia1nbr1 is a low life indian prick. he goes to pakistani vidoes as well nd spit shit there as well.

  • Stephen Fleming would of smashed that for 6

  • too fucking right

  • Lol australia1nbr1, all this guy does is go watch videos and comment on how bad shane warne is.

  • ya his balls

  • Shame, England suck dicks without him! Graham Onions is a real fool that bowls slow-medium pace pie chuckers! Harmy Must come back!!

  • Shane Warne took drugs. He was banned. Delete his records. His a racist. He got away with chucking because he is an Aussie and a racist! SHANE WARNE IS A DRUGGIE. DELETE HIS records!.

  • @australia1nbr1 Ok I'll jump right on that, after Murili has his records deleted for chucking, same as Malinga. They weren't performance enhancing drugs, he never chucked, so what if he's racist? Shoudl have no effect on the game, Aussies hung shit on Symonds for getting cut that those blokes called him a monkey, who gives a fuck get over it. Shane Warne wasn't banned either.

  • fuck u

  • I love that twangy cracking sound that the stumps made. Brilliant.

  • Huh ? One of the great balls ? Hardly....

  • In the context of this particular game, that was 1 of the great balls ever my friend! Michael Clarke had been going steady and this was the LAST BALL OF DAY 4! It left Warne, Lee and Kasprowicz to bat on the final day at Edgebaston. Eng won that game and went on to win the Ashes..and that ball will always be rememberd as 1 of the most important in that series.

I am not an Eng fan btw, I hate them, but I appreciate good cricket!

  • *sigh* Back when Harmison was amazing... something went wrong and he lost his confidence and he's never quite got back to the form he was in in 2003-2005

  • @AerospaceEngineer90 - He was indeed on a great roll at that time! I hope he comes back in the form to play for our England again!

  • you and me both, he is still performing amazingly at county level, if you get a chance watch Durham next season, the selectors need to show faith in Harmy before he can destroy the oppositions batting order ala sabina park '04 (well we'll struglle to see such an amazing spell of bowling in our lifetimes but that's not quite the point I was making)

  • @AerospaceEngineer90 - I think this happened in Ashes 2006 right mate? Cuz i think that he was the one who completely demolished the batting line-up for aussies in that whole tour which was a big pain in the ass for em

  • the wicket that won the ashes for england, if clarke was there on the final day we would have won the test and the series. Pschologically i knew we were in trouble for the rest of the series.

  • im aussie and ill admit that this was an awesome ball.

  • he pulled it out of his arse, he couldnt bowl a ball like that again if he tried 50 times in a row.

  • i agree, we saw that in the 2007 ashes series, lol

  • are u having a laugh

one of the great balls lolzz

    have seen bowls bowled by

Lee Akhtar Wasim Mcgrath walsh ambrose waqar

i m sorry but this is nothing

    remember the toe crushers

    and talking of slow balls

    eng vs pak 2005

Akhar s slower balls took 3 english batsmen which were far more superior than this one

  • context comes into it somewhere

  • super super ball

  • more amazed that he bowled one straight!

  • lol, so funny

  • @bellers based on those 2 deliveries he is 1 for 1 - I'd take that any day

  • @kamyueloh pretty stupid comment considering they were in completely different Ashes series...

  • so what - Campese singlehandley lost Australia a series against the Lions - doe sthat mean he never scored a good try?

  • @kamyueloh another stupid comment...professionals are supposed to be consistent at what they do...so what is your point?

  • @bellers So Sachin is not professional because he played a bad shot once and got a golden duck? You should change your name to bellend...

  • @kamyueloh hahaha what a gimp! where are you going with this? you seem to not have a clue what you are on about! Do you even play cricket?! To any decent standard or are you just some middle aged man who struggles to see the ball to hit when batting let alone run 22 yards to complete a single! sad thing is i bet it took you a long time to think of that original nickname there! wow lmao, jokes on you as far as im concerned

  • @bellers check the record bowling at Sabina Park - still amazed? ridiculous comment, even if in jest... I do admit that the wide was pretty special but.

  • @kamyueloh im not just talking about the wide, he was a class act for a couple of years when he had pace, but he seemed to go down hill pretty quickly. Lost any pace that he had, and thats what made him a handful, pace and bounce.

  • Lol, 'One of the great BALLS'

  • @PivotFan97 Its BALLS because Clarke had those to face Harmisson

  • We all believe you... ... ...

  • thats a magic ball u cant do shit

  • amzing slower ball

  • the sound of he ball hitting the stumps is awesome...

  • Ahhh, Harmison. Better than any Aussie bowler at the moment with the possible exception of Lee. I have no idea why he's not been picked for the tests.

  • lee is injured...

  • Harmison ?!?

    ROflmao!

He only bowls one decent delivery a game if that!

He is one of the worst bowlers I've ever seen play international cricket!

Admittedly he done OK in 2005. But that was mainly down to Flintoff putting the pressure on all the time.

Flintoff is heaps better than Hamri - and he is not nearly as good as Lee, Clark, or Johnson.

  • all batsmen fear harmy because of his unrivalled bounce. none of those bowlers can get the ball to carry like g.b.h. does

  • I think he was only dangerous in 2005. Other than that, he has been useless.

Look at the last ashes - Harmy in Perth with his 'unrivalled bounce' failed hard. And Perth is a pace man's wicket with heaps of bounce.

  • Johnson?!?!

    ROFLMAO!

He has been the worst bowler for Aus this series by a long way. Flintoff not as good as Johnson? You have to be mad, Flintoff is superior to Johnson at the moment by a long way! I know which bowler I would rather face.

Also, Harminson in his prime was superior to all of the bowlers you have named. You can't just be "ok" to reach the number 1 ranked bowler in the world. Something Lee has never done.

  • Johnson is have a bad series. Look at all the previous series he has played. Been the best bowler by far.

Harmi has only had ONE GOOD series, Johnson has only had one BAD series.

Lee had to go against McGrath and Warne, Flintoff hasn't had to. Lee has been riddled with injury since the retirements of Glenn and Shane.

Flintoff is good, but by no means superior. England's 'anti spirit of cricket' game tactics have helped him a hell of a lot.

  • Flintoff was always used as Englands work horse, which limited his wicket taking abilities. Flintoff has been riddled with more injuries than Lee.

Also, remind me what happened in the test series which Australia played against India at home in 08. That was the most "anti spirit of cricket" I have ever seen played by Australia, it was disgraceful. The umpiring has been disgraceful this series, not England's fault.

Harminson played brilliantly in all 04 and 05. Which is more than one series.

  • What happened in the Aus V Ind 08 Series?

Some bad umpiring (Which India blamed Australia for), Some racial comments made by some Indian player to Aussie player, and plenty of send offs given by India (Namely Sreesanth).

Australia done very well considering India's conduct.

  • Bad umpiring, which some Aussies are moaning about in this series. I just find it hypocritical as they didn't mind it then.

  • When Australia got bad decisions, they always took it, and moved on. This series, the decisions have been attrocious. But NEVER had Australia blamed England for it, and NEVER did Australia threaten to boycot a test (Both of which India had done).

As far as I'm concerned; Australia's conduct in this series so far as been spot on. The umpiring hasn't been very good at all.

  • mate, its not as black and white as that. for instance india were aggravated by factors such as the supposed racist comments made by harbhajan to symonds in which they took pontings word for it,and slapped him with a ban, over tendulkar who said that nothing was said.

  • What England has done this series (deliberate time-wasting in the 1st test), and 2005 Series (Resting their strike bowlers by swapping them with the 12th man so they will be fresh intime for their next spell).

They worked out how much less time Harmi spent on the field then he should have, and most the reason why he bowled well was because he never had to bowl tired.

  • Australians over rate was under par today as well. Both are as bad as each other. England were just doing what they did with the Bodyline series of 32-33, pushing the rules to the limits, as there were no rules against this. I agree it is bad for cricket but every team does it ast no-one wants to give a inch in cricket. Harbhajan was terrible when he got bowled and refused to move! The most "spirited" cricketer I have seen in recent times was Gilchrist, I really did admire that guy.

  • Gilly was a great cricketer.

But in saying that Ricky Ponting is also a very fair cricketer. Ofcourse, India's media will have you think he is as crooked as themselfs.

But when he turned down a catch, he was villified by the Indian media, saying too little too late. Well thats more than anyone I know of from international cricket has done in their career.

  • He has had good points, yes. Yet there are moments where he acted terrible. He has claimed a fair few catches where the ball has hit the ground or just over appealing.

Yes about the Indian media. There was this one video where Clarke made a diving stop and accidental knocked Sachin over and Gavaskar made out that he had done to stop him from getting runs.

  • Who hasn't claimed catches that didn't carry? Honestly - I can think of 2 (Yes 2) Indian cricketers who appealed after catching a half-voley - one of which didn't even come off the bat.

The Indian media is corrupt; and will have you beleive the Australians are the only one to have ever appealed for a bump-ball. When in actual fact India has done it more often than anyone, not to mention the Ball tampering incidence from pakies and Indies.

  • you are right for sure, pakies are the cheats of the game if you want to point fingers. i think the aussies play cricket very well and with good conduct and thats from an english man. bring on ashes 2010

  • i say that gary pratt was a ravishing young chap :)

  • lol harmison to langer.. harmison bowls, wide called, and well taken by second slip

  • uhm cool? you got a tailender with a slower ball?

  • It was actually Michael Clarke but he was injured and in the tailend. biast commentator too. Mark Nicholas........

  • i'd hardly call michael clarke a tailender

  • it was clarke he is not a tailender ignorant

  • stop bitchin ffs!! this video is about this 1 ball, so stop arguin bout stuff that isnt anythin to do with the vid!!

  • I agree!

  • Great end to a good day for England. But Australia put a great fight the next day. A nail-biter that would be remembered forever in the context of Ashes

  • compare that to umar guls or glen magrath and its nothing... sorry for spelling

  • ive got two of the great balls

  • Ha ha

  • That english bowlers a nobody. in fact they all are

  • he was celebrating so much because he couldnt believe he got it on the pitch

  • what is it with you aussies and the constant english bashing? you a little butthurt that you come from a penal colony of ours or something?

  • where always bashing you pommie cunts because you's are little bitches

  • oh well done. pretty clever response. reminds of a joke: what do you call an englishman with an IQ of 15? an aussie.

  • yeah thats funny because thats all it is, a joke, thats all the england cricket team is,a joke.

well his a fact for ya an nglishman cant even register an IQ

  • Really? huh.. hey insomnium92 you are an Aussie!

  • And we're always above you because you can't even speak or write simple English.

  • yeah rightio

  • mate this was in 2005 that really wid delivery was in 2007

  • doesnt matter what year it was his still shit and bowls wides

  • Anyone can bowl a good ball as often as this sook does...struggling in County isn't he?

  • Eh, have seen better. i need to see stumps flying for that title.

  • yeah i but he did say it was the slower ball

  • one the great balls? was the ball mcgrath slipped on... that ball should be knighted and OBE'd instead of a clown like geraint jones.

  • what are you on about? His 85 in the 4th test in that partnership with freddie, and the catch at edgebaston on day 4, pretty much won England those two test matches and hence the ashes.

  • "One of the great balls" My Arse. Mark Nicholas talks out of his backside 99% of the time.

  • Always remember the situation!! It was late on day 4 with Ponting and Clarke making a decent charge to win the test. If they win the Ashes goes with them. Harmi pulls a wicket out of no-where and the rest is history.

  • WAS A GOOD 1! .... BUT NOT THE BEST

  • agreed...

  • agreed... but to be fair the guy who put this video up never said it was the best ball.

  • nice ball!!!!!

  • It was aiite, seen better balls.

  • PRETTY GOOD, BUT NOT GREAT
