@Mozzyeon The entire sequence was animated using Flash MX. A few graphics were done in Adobe Photoshop. The first few seconds is actually reversed frames of the opening matt smith 80s titles I did.
Thanks, mate! Im giddy with anticipation about this weekend! I've been keeping up with the production of Series 5 with Matt....I think its going to be great!
No doubt, but I had spent so much time animating this and the intro sequence, that locating Howell's original mix wasn't a priority. It was a bear using FLASH to mimic the 80s titles :P
Yes I saw an article on the web CONFIRMING that Smith will not only have a new title sequence, but Moffatt has also decided to return to Doctor Who roots with it and have Smith's face in the intro, rather than their names.
@warszawianka Unfortunately not. But Moff has still injected an overdose of original DW into the series.....rather than go for an abrupt change, articles have stated that The Eleventh Hour & The Beast Below were written to casually bridge the gap (BIIIIGGGGG GAP) between RTDs vision of DW and The Moff's vision. I expect the further the season progresses, the more they will reflect the original series.
Macromedia Flash MX. A few of the elements, were edited in Adobe Photoshop. The "rainbow" glares, the red glares, and the yellow glares were done in Photoshop to retain their blurry edges. The starfield, the starfaces, and so on were animated directly in FLASH though
Also the animation at the front of this one was imported from the intro sequence I did - I just had to reverse the frames. The Flash file has well over 20 different layers. seven of those layers are soley committed to the starfield
i wanna know how u did that! :O

Actually, if you look hard enough, the original theme music is not that hard to find.
I have every single Doctor Who theme in full from 1963 to 2007, and I even have the Delaware theme in full (or at least one variation of it).

If I'm correct the titles for matt smith will change for his series because the tardis has changed so it has to be redone

@sixstanger00 Well, obviously the face-in-title thing didn't happen... sadly enough.
