like it! My 3 year old little girl now LOVES this movie and we watch it all the time, so I've noticed some mistakes, but you have many I haven't! (I like the shoes one the best) There is one that I noticed the other day that you didn't include! After the wizard is revealed and after the scarecrow yells at the wizard, there is a shot change and the characters have switched positions. Just thought I'd share!
The only one I never noticed on my own was the crying from eyebrows scene. As a kid, I just wasn't getting it. You never think of outtakes when your that little.
By the way, an isosceles triangle is a triangle with 2 equal sides. A right triangle with angles: 90, 45, 45, would fall under this definition. So while you are not entirely wrong, you are not entirely correct either.
Some of these issues are not goofs at all (who says the witch can't wear white stockings? And Glinda clinking her glass crown is not a goof, but a natural occurrence that adds interest and realism; And the tin man's fire didn't start to diminish until his metal body was in it; And who said the flower pot fashioned into a crown was "clay"??? After all, the castle is made of EMERALDS, etc.) Also, the lion's not holding a "mallet" -- it's an old sprayer to spray the "jitterbugs" with pesticide....
in the scene where the witch is telling the flying monkey's"go to the haunted forest and bring me that girl and her dog"she also says"I;ve sent a little insect ahead to take the fight out of them"that is a blooper.the insect was the JITTERBUG and entire song that was cut from the film, originally it was supposed to sting them and make them dance the Jitterbug song, they forgot to cut out the witch saying that, after they cut the song out
Wow! CrazyGroupTrio, who uploaded this, must have a Hell of a Video system to track down and nail all these Tiny Bloopers...(And a LOT of time on thier Hands)...But, WELL DONE, in Any Event! When I lived in the dorm @ college in early 80's, I played the Orig.soundtrack record LP song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" (by FAR the BEST version!) often times @ Deafening volume (when we were High as Hell) out my window into our dorm's courtyard....nobody Ever complained. MOST people LOVED it
And another small one: When Garland and all are at the castle gate, NONE of them (except perhaps Lahr) are looking at the Gatekeeper when they say their lines, but instead waaaay off to his left side, esp Garland when she says "But please, it's really important!".
Thanks for that. Here's 2 more. When the witch throws the fireball, it shows Dorothy & the two guys. When it shows them again, its their mirror image. Also, if you listen to "We're off to see the wizard the wonderful wizard of oz" being sung, you can hear Buddy Ebsen singing. He was the original tin man & had to leave the show because of a bad reaction to the silver paint. That song was taped while he was still there and not changed to include Jack Haley. Listen for Buddy Epsen's deep voice.
Such an amazing movie and so far ahead of its time. Definitely a classic and one of the best films ever made in my personal opinion. I wish people wouldn't slam this movie because of some tiny simple mistakes that were made, this movie was made in 1938-1939. The effects in this movie are simply amazing for its time.
Ok ok firstly i know the smoke was there before her.The witch doesnt travel with it,she summons it.
And the mustache problem is that when he yells some spit comes out causing the stache to go down a little. And the clay crown was obviously intended. When dorothy goes into that hole, that was intended too.And the flying monkeys didnt have toto,it was probably the monkeys dick. And the net and mallet they have, they just dropped it.And when scarecrow was making the sums, its fror fucking children...
I would like to point out that the ruby slipper "mistake "was that they had a soft sole shoe used on the scenes where the regular slippers made a clunking sound when she walked , one other thing about the slippers , in most scenes on the yellow brick road the slippers had felt glued to the soles to help prevent the clunking! And I think the Arabian test pair of slippers, belonging to Debbie Reynolds currently ,were a better choice but thats just me
Im not usually into learning the so called Bloopers of films .....but you must keep in mind the time when the movie was made !It was a crucial time in movie making with all that went on in movie making in those days .It is a miracle that such large production, in that day ,might have 200 people on set at one time ,just keeping those people on track and out of camera takes is amazing !costumers and prop handler were often "extras"in the film, these mistakes or bloopers are just learning tools.
that isn't a mallet in the lion's hand as they're walking through the forest. He's holding a large net and INSECT REPELLENT. This was a scene leading up to the deleted "Jitterbug" number.
i'm not trying to be a bum, or anything, but if you watch the original vhs tape that is in a little color and a little black and white, that there was something hanging , even if it was a monkey, or a bird, but the pictures are different.
but, great video, i would have never noticed them if it wasn't for you (: thanks
Thanks for the clips but honestly I don't feel they are really "goofs". I would have never noticed them probably due to the fact I was swept up by the sheer awesomeness of this movie. Thanks though, it is interesting how the film is still being talked about.
You forgot when the characters are getting a make over in the Emerald City lion says "Wonderful land of Bawz" instead of OZ. Atleast in my version he says it
@MrShadowFoot Its Bert Lahr's Brooklyn accent, he was as New York as it gets, so for his lion, he has a Brooklyn accent Lahr just exaggerated. Like the songsegment ...
"I'f I on had a brain, heart, a home...the Neoyve."(nerve) Which is my favorite line of his.
In the 1st wizard of oz that came out the 1st 1st copies they made there was really a hanging munchkin but its impossible to find that copy since the part was such a big problem .
LoL I noticed the crying from the forehead one when I was little. I just thought he was sweating :I

Margaret Hamilton's legs, or ankles, are not white, as in Caucasian fleshtone. She is clearly wearing black nylon stockings.

I hate that Hawaii version of Over The Rainbow I like the original better and also better than the Patti Labelle gospel version.

I think it's just that the nature of the "goofs" are picayune in the extreme. Good eye, though.
