Phil, this is extremelly beautiful! I realized you have to combine the positions of the cones to define the dark and light areas of the piece. It amazing how you figured that out. Yes. But Do you see all artists taking pinecones making art? No, alot of artists paint fruit and stuff. This guy uses his hands/feet an dother creative things alot of the time, unlike other artists who use a peice of paper and a paintbrush.

You don't explain who these portraits are of. It would make sense to use pine cones for, say, a portrait of a famous, maybe not too well known, environmentalist who fought to preserve national parks with pine forests — you know, somehow interrelate the media and the subject matter — like you did with fire and Hendrix.

he only neede one box. he divided the picture into small squares and uses the one box of pine cones to draw the specifc picture in the square and adds them all up on a computer. :P
