Yes Islam requires four eye witnesses. That means it's near impossible to bring someone to death with such a strict requirement. I'm a Westerner, and unlike you I've lived in both worlds. I know for a fact that in an Islamic State you're a lot safer than you are in the streets of the West.

This quote is a perfect example what gets added to an apostate. If he accepts Islam it is good; if not, he is to be killed, for Allah says to "kill those who believe in many gods" (Sura al-Tawba 9:5), without fixing a deadline. The Prophet also said, "Kill him who changes his religion," without mentioning a delay, because the apostate is surely a hostile unbeliever. He should be killed without reservation.

Since you live in the U.S. you won't be killed for apostasy, but it did and does happen. As for treason one could and can be killed, but the charge sometimes is false. Early in Muhammad's career he said religion is not demanded, but after he fled Mekka things change. Being a apostate alone can be seen as a betrayal, so other things might just be additional charges trumped up, but they were really killed just for being apostate.

9:5 does not say "in the battle field" although I would like to know just where you get this particular context. This quote is a perfect example what gets added to an apostate. If he accepts Islam it is good; if not, he is to be killed, for Allah says to "kill those who believe in many gods" (Sura al-Tawba 9:5), without fixing a deadline. The Prophet also said, "Kill him who changes his religion," without mentioning a delay, because the apostate is surely a hostile unbeliever. He should be killed without reservation.

Since you live in the U.S. you won't be killed for apostasy, but it did and does happen. As for treason one could and can be killed, but the charge sometimes is false. Early in Muhammad's career he said religion is not demanded, but after he fled Mekka things change. Being a apostate alone can be seen as a betrayal, so other things might just be additional charges trumped up, but they were really killed just for being apostate.

@Shyamalacruise It does not matter whether his a convert as it's irrelevant to the arguments that his making. Saudi or any other race does not have a monopoly over how Islam should be interpreted. The Prophet of Islam said in his farewell sermon that an Arab is not better than a non-Arab and vice a versa. My point is you were wrong to say that he was lying especially if he does not take Saidi as his source for Islamic jurisprudence.

9:5 does not say "in the battle field" although I would like to know just where you get this particular context. I don't see it in the Qur'an and thats what people tend to want to go with.Either way, if the struggle is justified by viewing it as a defence of Islam then the killing of the unbeliever is being justified. The condition on 9:6 to be offered an escort to a place of security is ONLY given here IF the person wants to hear the word of Allah. Facing death...NO compulsion?

By "rebellion and treason" he is ofcourse talking about the men and women who were spies sent to become Muslims and then defected - but then they started to spread misrepresentation and dissent amongst the Muslims. By "rebellion" he refer to a movement which puts chaos into a social order which is accepted by the people - it is in these situations when the "people" themselves recognize who the troublemakers are before bringing them to trial by court...

I would like to put a question forward, why is it that in over 1400 years, no Muslim has understood Islam as this scholar here. The implications of believing this brother (whom I believe has the wrong perception) is that great companions of the prophet (saaw) like Abu Bakr (ra), Umar Ibn Khattab and Ali Ibn Talib (ra) all followed the wrong understanding of Islam. Especially Abu Bakr (ra) whom in actual fact was alive when these hadith were being narrated 'but yet he is wrong' LOL
