kinda lyk saying he knows about hard times, the scars bit aint 2 sure, mayb he didnt let it get the best of him and do 2 bad 2 end up with scars, lyk he remained a good kinda guy and didnt fight back on a level it would reflect bad of him later in life, I dont the scar fings is kinda tricky,lol

she's talking about men who are "street smart" or know the ropes of the streets. someone who is not only book smart, but can handle issues from the streets. but even with this, he doesn't have the bullet holes and stab wounds to go along with it.

we a black men must return to the black pride that, the 1960's through the early 1980s . this pride would not allow the disrepect of our women nor our children. we sought higher learning and the uplifting of our fallen brothers through love and knowledge of self. knowing that your actions affected other men of color. we governed ourselves accordingly in public and at home. This song stimulates that black man/ warrior pride. i will all ways be her fan.

not a big Heather Headley fan, but I am fan and of luv and uplifting black men and women and I absolutely luuuuvvv this song. I don't know a brotha like this, but that doesn't stop me from KNOWING that they DO exist (but where, lol).
