This really is dangerous stuff!!!! But what amused me, is to see that bikes are so normal in Japan ( and in China). They are the only countries that can compete with Holland, when it is about riding bikes in traffic!! And I can tell you, that riding a bike in Holland is not an art....it's just in our blood!! LOL

These things give me nightmares. I live in Japan and ride a motorcycle, and the sometimes the safety gates rise and drop really fast. Make sure you don't stall on the tracks, that's for sure!

That is dangerous! It looks like the gate only goes down about 10-15 seconds before the train actually comes zooming by. What if someone falls?

From what I heard and saw, not only people get trapped on the track, but also trying to beat the train before it hits them. They even go around the beam to cross the track.

@TheJapanChannelDcom There's one Leeuwarden (The Netherlands) also known as "De Wirdumerdijk" where it's quite literally every man for him/her self. There's a shopping crowd on narrow sidewalks, an ill defined bicycle and car road where pedestrians are allowed too. And to top it off they make a market square out of it on fridays. And there's no safety features at all.

It's hilarious. I wanna dump a sack of breadcrumbs there and see what happens when all the pigeons start eating in the middle..
