When I first got an Si, I did experience rpm flow, but I had just learned how to drive stick. Now after about a year of driving it, there really isn't any rpm flow.

yeah I've seen top gear and it's my favourite show-I've always loved their reviews. CNET on the other hand usually points out little things that other car reviews don't mention about the interface so I think it's still useful to watch

The high revving, low torque engine is perfect for a FWD car IMO. Especially on a car that's geared towards cornering. It's also less stressful on the drivetrain.
The LSD is a big in my book. Driving an open diff car on canyon roads in the rain is no fun and kinda scary.
This car has good stiff chassis and the engine sits almost inline with the strut towers. That's very good for reducing understeer, and will give the car a quicker turn in.

"Brute Force Rev Matching" doesn't rev match take the "brute force" out of the equation so you are matching the speed of the clutch to the engine. Isn't that why when you rev match and drop a gear it drops in smoothly and not brutely?
I have the Nav in my '08. It's DEAD ON. Resolution is great and in reviews I have read it's AW LAWT better than the navs in high end cars. This terd has the resolution zoomed out that's why it look bad. This guy sucks
You can save a nice chunk of money by skipping the nav altogether. Pick up a portable one from Target or best Buy, and it will probably work better anyway. Most factory-installed systems, even in high-end cars are often outdated and inaccurate.

I drive an '08 Si sedan that I just bought (in late '09) and it has 2k miles on it. The shifter is already slick and has an amazing feel. I have no problem shifting quickly at high RPMs without the phenomenon he was describing. There was a "rev hang" issue back in the '06 and '07 model, but it's basically gone now. There was a recall that fixed it (mostly) in those early models as well. I think the bottom line is ...learn to drive.

OK I own the 2008 si sedan... this guy is a complete fool, the shifting is damn good, I don't need to wait 2 full seconds... wtf my problem is that by the time I've already shifted the damn thing is already reving so high I can shift again most of the time between 1-4th. I have a heavy foot mind you, but still, if anything when I shift the RPM's seem to go back up really fast. The guy doesn't even know how to drive it, after driving this car for like 2 weeks it now drives the way I drive
Well, the reason for that is the fact of price. Honda's are near most always more priceyer then their competitors equivalent cars. The reason is that they are better for sure, but obviously over time the more better they make their cars, the less on an equivalent field their competitors become, thus making them just like an acura in the end. I mean the price jump from Honda to Acura is narrowing by the year as Honda's climb up in price.

"Brute Force Rev Matching" doesn't rev match take the "brute force" out of the equation so you are matching the speed of the clutch to the engine. Isn't that why when you rev match and drop a gear it drops in smoothly and not brutely?

I have the Nav in my '08. It's DEAD ON. Resolution is great and in reviews I have read it's AW LAWT better than the navs in high end cars. This terd has the resolution zoomed out that's why it look bad. This guy sucks

You can save a nice chunk of money by skipping the nav altogether. Pick up a portable one from Target or best Buy, and it will probably work better anyway. Most factory-installed systems, even in high-end cars are often outdated and inaccurate.

hahaha. This guy is the only one i have seen that made a review bitching about the Powertrain. While everyone else said the shifter was the best in class with smooth precision. Perhaps he doesn't know how to drive a manual. You need to be driving it near the redline. thats where the true power is at.

this guy (Brian Cooley) is awesome...if you didnt notice he reviews CAR TECH. so yes, maybe he isnt as informed about the engine or whatever but he is very accurate about everything else. the people that disagree probably own a civic and dont want to admit that there is some truth in what he says. honda needs to update their poor quality nav resolutions.

Right on. I'm 6'5 and have just an inch to bounce around in with the seat all the way back. I'm thinking about putting in a bucket seat for a bit of extra room though so I can wear a helmet ;)

i hate reviews like this cause that car has probably one of the best motors you can buy from honda, a k20, but because of all the bs extras the motor (which any honda person knows hondas are about the motor first and foremost), is made to look insignifacant in this video and that just down right angers me

I just bought this car, well the Sedan and I love it. I didn't get the Nav but i don't really notice the rev flow that much. Shifting is excellent.

I drive an '08 Si sedan that I just bought (in late '09) and it has 2k miles on it. The shifter is already slick and has an amazing feel. I have no problem shifting quickly at high RPMs without the phenomenon he was describing. There was a "rev hang" issue back in the '06 and '07 model, but it's basically gone now. There was a recall that fixed it (mostly) in those early models as well. I think the bottom line is ...learn to drive.

Uhm... OK I own the 2008 si sedan... this guy is a complete fool, the shifting is damn good, I don't need to wait 2 full seconds... wtf my problem is that by the time I've already shifted the damn thing is already reving so high I can shift again most of the time between 1-4th. I have a heavy foot mind you, but still, if anything when I shift the RPM's seem to go back up really fast. The guy doesn't even know how to drive it, after driving this car for like 2 weeks it now drives the way I drive

Well, the reason for that is the fact of price. Honda's are near most always more priceyer then their competitors equivalent cars. The reason is that they are better for sure, but obviously over time the more better they make their cars, the less on an equivalent field their competitors become, thus making them just like an acura in the end. I mean the price jump from Honda to Acura is narrowing by the year as Honda's climb up in price.
