I read Hansen's book on this subject. Very well documented.
The most salient point that I took away from the book was the fact that the most successful publication at marginalizing the UFO subject, the National Inquirer, was started by a former OSS psychological warfare officer.
When you bring up UFO's around friends and family, and they roll their eyes, chuckle, etc. - that is the trophy victory dance of CIA success!
The OSS, of course, is the predecessor of the CIA.
