From a salary cap standpoint this makes sense. Vlad had a big contract & both Brown's & Morrison's contracts are up at seasons end. Dont really know how Morrison will pan out,but Brown could be a diamond in the rough. With his athleticism he could def earn a spot in the rotation if he commits to playing defense. He could definitely help in the playoffs against a spot-up shooter like Ray Allen or quick PG's like a Tony Parker or a Rondo.

Doesn't seem like a good trade to me. Vlad was a proven shooter, but Morrison has just sucked so far in the NBA. The Lakers seem like they want to take chances on former hs/college stars who seem like draft busts, but Kwame Brown shows that it doesn't work out. Lakers lost a good player in this deal. I think they did it for the salary cap space.

When he shot well he shot really well but when he didn't shoot well he was completely useless because A he couldn't play defense B he couldn't rebound and C he was 6'10 and he couldn't post up. This is a good trade for the Lakers in terms of financial reason. Lakers will save 11.3 million over 3 years and possibly resigning odom and ariza. Who knows, Morrison can turn out to be a contributor for the lakers.
