Ya know, as much as I think Rameses was a stubborn and proud asshole, I think, at least in this version, there was another reason for not letting the slaves leave. I think that since Moses had hurt him so badly, he wanted to make Moses suffer and kinda piss him off in a way. It's really sad though, you can just hear the pain in Rameses' voice.

I love this song. I love the movie. But when I actually read the words, and think about it, i can't help but cry. none of this would have happened, if Pharoah had just thrown away his pride. Yet, it also makes me smile when I listen to this song, it shows me just how powerful and mighty our God truly is. I may not be much of a religious person, but this movie has always been one of my favorites, and this song and Heaven's Eyes are possibly some of the best tracks animated movies have ever produced.
