can someone help me, im 13 and have never snowwboarded before and i want to start but i dont want to rent and i have a budget of like anywhere from 200$-500$ and i know the hero smalls is 200... can anyone help?
@chunkycheesedude Because you have size 11 feet I would recommend getting a wide. Here are a few good options, Salomon Salvatore Sanchez Wide148, Ride Kink Wide 149, K2 Vandal Wide Snowboard 148 or the Burton Custom Smalls Flying V Wide 145.
Thanks for the reply but how will the 'Burton Custom' & 'Custom Flying V' stand against 'Saloman Drift', 'Saloman Grip', 'DWD Kwon', 'Nidecker Score' or 'Artec Gabe Taylor'. The reason I ask, is that they are all roughly the same price/type/shape and flex and I'm trying to narrow it down to a couple that I can take for a test ride. Alternately should I just test 'em all?
@91CraigyB Skip the Hero and the Blunt, the Custom X is going to be a little on the stiff side... Check out the Custom Flying V 158 Wide or the plain Burton Custom (camber) .
@mrAtrain13 The texture is a little funny, but the color areas of the snowboard should take stickers nicely. I have not heard of about anyone having any problems putting stickers on the Hero.
@motomonko1 if you like a stiff bindings the diodes would work. other wise you might want to get something a little softer. Such as the Burton missions or Malavita. You could go with EST or the normal disc bindings. I would suggest getting the EST.
hey how you doing i have had my burton hero for 4 months and the screws that u put in the channel have become tsuck and i dont know why this has just recently happend and i was wondering if u would be able to give me some ideas on how to get them to move. thanks
hi im 5'1 90 lbs, and love riding the park, i currently have the 2010 hero smalls in a 138, but i need a knew board. I am looking at the Hero 2012 in a 142, the GNU Skate banana in a 142, or the burton clash in a 139, or a 145. Which should i get? thanks
I'm looking into buying the burton hero 149 I'm 5' 9" and weigh 120-125 my foot size is 10-10.5 looking to do everything on the mountain terrain parks every once in a while so would this be a good board for me?
I am 5' 7'' and i weigh 130-135 lbs. I will still grow a little bit cuz im 15. when i get this board, iwant to do a lot of terrain parks, but also i want to ride all mountain, and other stuff besides terrain parks. should i get the burton hero 155 or 158? oh yeah and what type of bindings should i get?
thanks for the help and i love the house boardshop!!!
@0Hornetsfan0 Well because you only weigh a 135 lb now the 155 would bea little big at the moment but next year it should be perfect. As for bindings i would suggest the Burton Mission EST, Cartel EST, or Malavita EST.
@0Hornetsfan0 It really depends on how much weight you put on. If you stay around a 150-160lbs it could theoretically last you forever, that is if you don't destroy the board first.
I recently destroy a board that i thought was going to last me forever, It flew off my roof racks. :'-(
Im looking to buy a Burton Hero 155. My height is around 6'0 ft. and my weight around 135-140. I'm mostly likely going to end up getting a size 11 boot maybe a 10.5. I'm getting the burton ambush boot and the burton mission est bindings. What size do you recommend?
@tennisguy96 Because you weigh around 140lbs i would recommend getting the mediums unless your feet are still growing, if they are get the larges. If you get size 11 boot you should get the hero in a 155 wide.
@HICKx I got this, but better colorway, mine looks alot nicer. But i think the orange looks dumb. But this board rides and jibs so nice you won`t care how it looks :)
Hey, Great vid, love all your reviews! I have a Burton Custom right now and its a little stiff for me, would this board give me more flex than a custom? I am an all around the mountain rider but when I go to the park the custom just doesnt seem to have the pop i want it to have. Would this board be good for things other than park?
@bathduck4 Companies do all of their board testing with their boots and bindings...I'd stick with Burton bindings. Imagine driving a Ford truck with a Chevy engine, Jeep axels, and Toyota tires...it would work, but you'd be better off riding one companies complete set-up.
Would you suggest this or the skate banana? I leave in the NE so i have alot of groomers and ice, and the magnatraction would be nice. I do alot of park but also like to go fast!
@eggmaynn the Skate banan or Gnu Park Picke would be a great board, if you more into jump than rail's I would suggest getting the GNU Riders Choice C2BTX
Hey I wanted to know if the K2 Hurrithane's would be compatible with this board? tryna find good park bindings ALSO do the decal on top of the board scratch easy????
@JustThatGuy716 They will work, but you will need to pick up a K2 Slot Compatible Disc Kit they cost about 20$. Another good park bindings would be the Burton Malavita's. I have not heard anything about the decals scratching off, so i guessing it is pretty difficult to do so.
just broke my 2010 Hero 155W last weekend. first thing i did when i got home was ordered a new one 162W this time. i mix this thing with some Malavita Restricted EST's. whew, its beautiful. can't wait for my new baby o come in the mail and get out there this weekend!!!
I am 6'2 & 190 lbs buying new board this season and Hero is on top of my list. Riding mostly freeride (not pow) but like playing while i ride. So was thinking about next combo: Hero 158 (maybe Wide because i rock 11size boots) with Cartel est bindings. But as options also looking at Custom flying V and Process flying V.
Any suggestions? BTW: Been riding 15 years and my current board is Santa Cruz Chris Roach 155, something like 8 to 10 years old model. Want to try something new and different.
@dabelg I would skip the Hero and go with the Custom Flying V or Rossignol One Mag. These boards both have a hybrid camber which is still fun and playful like a rockered board but the still offers the performance of a cambered snowboard. It's the best of both worlds. If you really like riding shorter boards I would recommend going with the Burton supper hero.
I'm getting this board, but I'm still not sure about size. I'm thinking of the 158, but should I go for a longer wide? When does one choose a wide board?
I'm about 5,9 feet and 142 lbs. Any help is appreciated. Thank's.
I'm 5'10'' 145lbs and a buy a 152 wide! If you want to ride in park and have fun , take it shorter and if you are more slalom and down hill , buy it longer
@PoSetchelll I'm from a smalltown with not many options for park-riding. This is supposed to be a great all-mountain board, so I hope to be all over the place with it. I think I'm getting the 158.. I've been riding an old burton air 187 for a few years and the size really worked for me. Hopefully this will be a bit more playful, and hopefully I choose the right size :3
@JeFilm94 Its going to be a lot more playful then your old Burton air. I would put you on a 155 but if you like longer board you could totally rocker the 158. If you looking for a good all mountain board i would recommend getting the Process Flying V rather then the Hero. The Flying V will still be playful but it will be steadier at higher speeds.
@thehouseboardshop Thank's a lot! I think I'll go with the Process Flying V now instead. I believe sticking with 157 would be the best choice? I guess 159 would be too long if it's supposed to be playful and flexible, but 155 would just be too short for me.
@OCKiiD199 here is what burton says. " We begin where many competitors consider the top of the line. A great place to start, you'll be riding the same boards as some of the best riders out there" so im not realy sure,
But the hero has V rocker, Squeezebox Jumper Cables carbon rods, Frost Bite edges, the Channel Super fly core, scoop, pro tip and infinite ride.
@WatThebuk The Burton Hero Smalls (130, 134, 138, & 142) are all twin boards. The Burton Hero Smalls has a flex rating of a 2, the Ride DHK has a 7. If you are a hard charging kid that thrashes everything, pick the Ride DHK.
@thehouseboardshop actually its a flex rating of 2 because its more relaxed than responsive because its a rocker which is what i'm looking for, but i was wondering would the ride dhk still be better?
@valkonbmx For me the Ride DHK is the way to go. Its stiffer (more responsice and it has ProRize rocker.(just the tip) Its offers tons of pop and it is smooth and stability, even at high speeds.
@bjgold9 The Hero. Mainly because or the addition of frostbit edges. Although the Whammy bar is a true twin , I really like the Hero's twin like shape because it is a little better in variable conditions.
i ride in michigan and in the park everyday. im hittin jumps about 20 - 35 feet normally and rails everyday. im going out to colorado this year and looking for a board thats not totally a noodle and can handle some 40 - 50 ft jumps when needed but still is playfull. could you help?
@RDFFFVBG Depends... How long have you been riding? What size feet do you have? What's your riding style?(park, freeride, all mountain) if you new to snowboarding or looking for a really buttery board i would go with the Clash.
just got this board in the mail, was gonna make a review but you pretty much summer up how awesome it is! i would like to stress that Burtons infinite ride is amazing, i pulled it out of the box and it was all ready to go
@nsnelson16 saying that just makes u look like a idiot. coming to a video by a "hated" company (or a company in a video as in this case) and just came to troll. if going to comment saying it sucks, say why it sucks and why rome sds is good to make u less of a idiot
next Weekend i got my own brandnew Hero! now all I (we all) need is good and much Snow! i hope it would be a fantastic Winter! and sorry if i write something wrong, im German! ;)
@durster27 Sounds like this would be a good board for you. For me V Rocker feels a little loose, I prefer the hypbrid camber/ rocker boards for higher speeds, such as the Rossignol Jibsaw or Retox, or Burton Process Flying V..
When i ride park i mostly just go for big jumps but i do ride freeride sometimes but i also really want a twin cause i ride switch alot so could i bomb a hill with this then go hit the park with it or is there something better?
@killavids1These boards will work a lot better at high speeds and still be playful in the park,k custom flying V, Lib Tech EC2 attack banana, GNU Riders Choice C2BTX, TRS
@aluotto1425 The Big Difference is the that Hero has a Twin Flex and the Joy Stick has a directional flex. The Hero has a flex of 3 where the joystick has a flex of 4. If your more into riding park go with the Hero, if you like to ride 50/50 park/all mountain i would suggest going with the joystick. They are both great boards that can handle just about anything you can dish out.
im 5''1 and i weight 92 pounds i want a board that has a responsive feel, is good in all-mountain conditions and im likely to do tricks at the park so im an intermediate rider, is this board right for me? Im looking to get it in 134cm size? can somebody help me??? ill apreciate it
@RidinMTL If you looking for a Responsive Board that can rip in all conditions I would suggest getting the Burton Custom Smalls Flying V 135 or 140 and if you are still growing you may want to get the 140. A 134 or 135 would be a good size for a park board, that is if you don't grow much this season.
@AWcatcher11 ride it if it feels right, I don't know why people come onto these videos asking for advice when it's different for every rider. I'm 6 feet 140 pounds and I ride a 151 and park only. Try it out, if it feels good, than ya ride it. The point is height and weight have almost nothing to do with it. But ultimately it's all up to you not what someone else tells you to ride. Hope that helps.
@drjn23 you must be talking about the base color. typically base color vary, due to the die cut construction . If you call in soon like in the new week or two you may be able to get a sale guy or gal to make sure you get the mostly yellow base, call 1800 409 7769
hey im a beginner to intermediate rider and im kind of thinking around the burton custom x and the burton hero i would like something to go allround the fields. which one should i pick
@Sjoues if you want a surf like feel go with the Hero because of the V rocker, the custom x is a camber board and is made to shred hard a fast. its stiffer and more responsive
@jotoew Because of the the die cut base, each color you see on the base is a cut out from a larger piece. it's like a jig saw puzzle. so in order to be a little greener and more cost effective burton use the left overs from the one boards to complete next board. That,s why base colors may vary
i searched everywhere to find this board in yellow but i always find it in black...can somebody explain me that?

Should i get a ride dhk 146 or burton hero 142 is the burton hero true twin
WatThebuk 4 months ago
@WatThebuk The Burton Hero Smalls (130, 134, 138, & 142) are all twin boards. The Burton Hero Smalls has a flex rating of a 2, the Ride DHK has a 7. If you are a hard charging kid that thrashes everything, pick the Ride DHK.
thehouseboardshop 4 months ago
@thehouseboardshop actually its a flex rating of 2 because its more relaxed than responsive because its a rocker which is what i'm looking for, but i was wondering would the ride dhk still be better?
valkonbmx 4 months ago
@valkonbmx For me the Ride DHK is the way to go. Its stiffer (more responsice and it has ProRize rocker.(just the tip) Its offers tons of pop and it is smooth and stability, even at high speeds.

Burton Whammy Bar or Hero for a park rat and have been riding for 2-3 years?
bjgold9 4 months ago
@bjgold9 The Hero. Mainly because or the addition of frostbit edges. Although the Whammy bar is a true twin , I really like the Hero's twin like shape because it is a little better in variable conditions.

please anwser....burton blunt 2011(v-rocker) or burton clash 2012(EZ-v)?
RDFFFVBG 4 months ago
@RDFFFVBG Depends... How long have you been riding? What size feet do you have? What's your riding style?(park, freeride, all mountain) if you new to snowboarding or looking for a really buttery board i would go with the Clash.

@nsnelson16 saying that just makes u look like a idiot. coming to a video by a "hated" company (or a company in a video as in this case) and just came to troll. if going to comment saying it sucks, say why it sucks and why rome sds is good to make u less of a idiot

i hit the park about 7/10 out of the day and then i go down some fast runs and a tiny bit of back country is this board fit for me?
durster27 5 months ago
@durster27 Sounds like this would be a good board for you. For me V Rocker feels a little loose, I prefer the hypbrid camber/ rocker boards for higher speeds, such as the Rossignol Jibsaw or Retox, or Burton Process Flying V..

Just bought this today, im so psyched for it to snow!!!

killavids1 5 months ago
@killavids1These boards will work a lot better at high speeds and still be playful in the park,k custom flying V, Lib Tech EC2 attack banana, GNU Riders Choice C2BTX, TRS

What are the BIG differences between the hero and the joystick? what can you do with one that you can't with the other?
aluotto1425 5 months ago

Im looking to get it in 134cm size? can somebody help me??? ill apreciate it
RidinMTL 5 months ago
@RidinMTL If you looking for a Responsive Board that can rip in all conditions I would suggest getting the Burton Custom Smalls Flying V 135 or 140 and if you are still growing you may want to get the 140. A 134 or 135 would be a good size for a park board, that is if you don't grow much this season.

On the 142 youth could I put men's bindings on it
KigKak289 5 months ago
@KigKak289 what size binding do you have? the waist width on the 142 is 24.4 (cm):

@TheMightyRideout u live in a trailer park u hick lol....u haven't even gone through puberty lmao
AWcatcher11 5 months ago
@AWcatcher11 ride it if it feels right, I don't know why people come onto these videos asking for advice when it's different for every rider. I'm 6 feet 140 pounds and I ride a 151 and park only. Try it out, if it feels good, than ya ride it. The point is height and weight have almost nothing to do with it. But ultimately it's all up to you not what someone else tells you to ride. Hope that helps.

i dontt see this color available online anywhere. where can i get this color of board?
drjn23 6 months ago
@drjn23 you must be talking about the base color. typically base color vary, due to the die cut construction . If you call in soon like in the new week or two you may be able to get a sale guy or gal to make sure you get the mostly yellow base, call 1800 409 7769
thehouseboardshop 6 months ago
hey im a beginner to intermediate rider and im kind of thinking around the burton custom x and the burton hero i would like something to go allround the fields. which one should i pick
Sjoues 6 months ago
@Sjoues if you want a surf like feel go with the Hero because of the V rocker, the custom x is a camber board and is made to shred hard a fast. its stiffer and more responsive
thehouseboardshop 6 months ago
How come the bottom of the hero is different online then it is when you buy it?
jotoew 6 months ago
@jotoew Because of the the die cut base, each color you see on the base is a cut out from a larger piece. it's like a jig saw puzzle. so in order to be a little greener and more cost effective burton use the left overs from the one boards to complete next board. That,s why base colors may vary
