Nice version. I've worked out a fingerpicked try. Please check out mine and tell me what you think. Search for Paul Pekkanen and you will find it. Keep up the good work.
Aqualung next??? One of the all time great albums front to back.
I've learned a lot from your posts...check out my Kodachrome cover which I learned from your post except I put my weak voice with it. Mother Goose, excellent of course. I have to say I'm envious of your skill. I keep playing and enjoying? Thanks DK
Judging by the Mother of Pearl inlays, that's either a Martin or a rice boiler Special. I think Ian did this on a really old Epiphone, small bodied, compact, like he wanted his women...anyway it's salmon now and as a flautist, he was a bloody good strummer!
@privettricker I know Ian was never one for dreadnoughts, always loved the way he did that hit and strum thing though, in such a precise way. Old Martins, old anything now my friend..an old sandwich has value if gets signed by the right person. I know what you mean though. Cheers for replying and I hope your kids have less limbs than an octopus
@michael573114 The distinctive sound he extracted came from the strum/picking technique..the mumbled breathy flute added to his uniqueness...and the voice of course..coarse grit to the finest emery...exceptional performer
Awesome man just awesome. The first time I heard that Mother Goose, it gave me goose bumps. I have been a tull FANATIC ever since! I play mot her goose too but without the capo. It sounds great without the capo version but I am absolutely sure you are playing it correctly with the capo I just want to say thanks man. not any bands out there with the diversity and talent like JT

@Rikk303 That's a Martin D41. I think Ian plays parlor guitars, old Martins.

@Rikk303
Ian used an old Martin 0-16NY for most of his career.

I think if the guitar has a small enough scale (shorter neck), you could get the same effect without the capo.
I know Anderson uses a parlor size guitar for the acoustic stuff, so he may not end up using a capo.

Hey Great job on your playing. What brand guitar is that, I have an identical guitar ,but lefthanded. It's from the early 70's

It's a Martin D-41. I bought it new about two years ago. Doesn't have a lot of bottom end, but if I want bottom end, I'll pull out the J-200!
