its a good example for typical mistakes you can make. not joking. its good, its helpful for conductors to mind the impotant points of singing acapella. it helps to recognize the single problems that the singers need to solve before such music can sound well.

Wow....hmmm......err......umm.­.....thats uhh.....not a very good recording.....like at all actually its probably the worst. On the alto's entrance the alto and tenor are at a tri-tone....lol....there was absolutely no musicality in it at all almost no dynamic change or phrasing and not to mention the piece should never be performed that fast (but i would want to get it over quickly too)

No musicality ? not true ; for instance, sopranos are often singing syncopations like ternary motives, and that's beautiful.

Of course pitch isn't perfect, and listening to each other is very difficult when you're not familiar enough with your own part.

@MarimbarMe As a recorder player, I think listening to the ensemble "from outside" while playing your part inside isn't obvious - while I guess it's the key to better playing.

It's not just the off key notes or the fact that the singers weren't listening to each other, but it is so rushed! The tempo of this piece isn't nearly that fast and all the reverent beauty was sucked out of it, unfortunately.
