I wrote 1 fan letter in my whole life and it was to this dude back in the late 80's. He was awesome then and has only gotten better... My letter was like "you rock" I think, lol...I was pretty insane as a kid - but anyhow, he rocked...
@Lordgout And a huge inspiration to Jane's Addiction. What a stand up guy to let Perry (Someone Eric can't stand) use the Jane's Addiction name still. Eric could have been a dick and said it's all about me and you guys ain't using the name anymore w.out me.
@cadidliac I think it's also that he's seen that JA without him faltered pretty badly every time they reunited without him: in the '97 "Relapse" Tour with Flea, early-'00s Comeback/"Strays" album & period with Martyn LeNoble (of Porno For Pyros) & Chris Chaney (Alanis Morissette, Session Musician) who's with them currently. Eric's toured with Garbage and done his own musical projects and not been tied down to Janes like Perry & Navarro seem to be.
@cadidliac I don't think he had any real power to stop Jane's reforming when they did. But, he did have the power to stop them releasing any Best Of albums and such, and didn't discover that until recently. But you're right, he's such a stand-up guy. You just couldn't imagine him being a dick about anything to do with the continuing Jane's legacy. Yeah, I'm sure the money helps....but he's way more than just a chunk of change.
flats feel like cutlery to me, can't get into them, apparently that's what Ben Shepherd used to use aswell...can't see the appeal, mind you they both had killer tone...
thats the steve harris model... i love the sound but totally hate the way the flatwounds feel... dunno how harris can pluck on flatwounds so aggresively for that i take my hat off to him...
@ipodspartan of course brother a big reason why i play bass is harris... but i never said he uses a pick... i just said he gets an agressive tone... 90% of the time i dont like pick on bass... if you look at my videos i have videos where you can see my anti pick sticker on my bass....

@menobass Hey Steve Harris doesn't use pick, he use his finger to play the bass. Have you ever watch him play before?
