Man I love these dudes. greg nice just had that flow that ride any hot beat... smooth B was indeed smooth, laid back flow... and the beats was so hot/ no delaying/ hip hop junkie/ no bones in ice cream ect. you can't talk about the golden years of hip hop and not mention these kats...
Damn. This nearly brings a tear to my eye. Their shit just felt good. They filled a void in hip hop. There was the conscious, the irreverent, then them. This type of stuff rounded it all out. God Bless 'em both.
YOOOOOO!!!! When this shit dropped i was like fucking 8 or 9 years old...copped the mixtape from my cousin in N.Y.and then had the airbrush lyrics on a white t-shirt...brought it back to D.C. and had muthafuckers looking at me like who the fuck is that!!!! This is and will forever be one of the greatest hip-hop classics to date!!!! good look on posting this b...word!!!!
I thought maybe it was like an old axiom or something. just seemed like a weird title!! ehhe. NICE and SMOOTH's first album is always the best in my eyes. I always bump "NO DELAYING" with that Fat Albert loop at the beginning, they wrecked shit on that one!
@Toner2515 I know, lol!! Thanks all the same. I do believe you meant to direct your comment to bitchslap22003. I was simply correcting his statement. He said that the Fat Albert loop was at the beginning of No Delaying, when in fact it was Early To Rise. Peace Toner!!
u have to be joking??? It's a known as if to say nice and smooth gets it in on the mic or nobody is fucking with us on the mic. Gotta be a fruity ass skinny jean wearing, millenium uneducated baby!
But if someone remembers a video these 2 did where one of them is in a swimming pool, i'd appreciate being reminded what track it is. All i remember is one of them (i think Greg Nice) lounging on a chair in a pool.
"No matter how many times, no matter how many times, no matter how many times, no matter how many times, no matter how many times the ball bounces........"
This remix was never on Jewel Of the Nile. this was strictly a B-side single, at least to my knowledge. I have all of N & S stuff, and am a vinyl head, and this was never a part of Jewel of the Nile. "NO BONES IN ICE CREAM" was a DJ joint
loved them random lyrics and you cant forget the classic Greg Nice "REVERB" forget DJ SCREW MAN, GREG NICE was the first guy doing double up snaps on rap songs!!
"Nipsey Russell, do the hustle".....LMAO!!! The opening line alone is still one of my all time faves to this day. Thankfully, my 12" still plays lovely.
"Cause as we know, our rhymes are impeccable. Fresh and flexible, highly respectable. And through the years we've struggled through forfeits. And after the tour quits, I come back with more hits!!!" CLASSIC!!!!!
"And get down just a little. Sway babycakes yeah more to the middle. Sleep talking and sleep walking. Fellas jealous but girlies hawkin!" I LOVE THIS!
actually, if you really want it some DJ's are digitizing all of their vinyl (like myself) I haven't got this far yet, but there are always options.. one
There was a time my young friend when Compact Discs did not exist and these musical recordings were pressed into vinyl discs, much larger than your CD and also carried the term records. These records made it capable for DJ's to scratch.. (scratching the record). If left your record in the hot sun or applied heat to it, the melting record would look like melting wax...hence the term wax.
deamn son I know man.. I got friggen 45 crates of hip hope back in the 80-99 era.. bomb B side shits like this!! and I loved instrumentals. sometimes I would just listen to the beats if the lyrics were trash.. you can't do that no more, you are FORCED to listen to garbage now.. sometimes the beats were hot, and I brought a record because of that..
