"Just think if he was not strapped in a seat" - huh? He may as well not have been strapped in, if the straps fall off his shoulders like that, they arent holding him in if there was a crash. They are REALLY loose!
his straps need to be above his shoulders (not below) and they clearly need snugged up.
chest clip should be at his armpits
But it looks like he mayhave outgrown this sat... it is outgrown when he is 40lbs or when his shoulders go past the top slots OR when the tops of his ears are at the top of the seat.
He'll need a bigger seat to keep him harnessed like the Cosco Apex, Evenflo Triumph Advance, Sunshine Kids' Radian, or Britax Regent.
I work at a child care and I see parents strapping their kids in like that ALL the time! I saw this one mom putting her 4.5 year old in a toddler car seat and she just put the kid in and put the harness straps and chest clip together at the childs stomach.The straps werent even over her shoulders!
Continued from other comment..It was worse than the kid in that video. There needs to be a way to get parents to realize that there are bigger harnessed seats out there, or at LEAST a booser seat because anything is safer than being strapped in like that!
