  • Which is the best for filming and video HD?

    Sony xr160?

    Sony PJ10?

  • Selling on ebay! It's ridiculously cheap at the moment! Go check it out!

    Search arkfix94 for seller!

  • Does the Canon Vixia HF S100 have manual exposure and white balance settings?

Also, if connected to a computer via usb, will i get a live video feed to the computer?

    Thanks

  • I have it but how do I do the night vision?!

  • I'm in love!

  • @MattJWilkins No, just 60 i at 1080p but not 60p

  • @AleenaBaby12 you can get it from the apple store

  • Comment removed

  • @MattJWilkins NTSC models can shoot 60p and PAL models shoot 50p

  • Stop saying "on board"......goddamn

  • What's the difference between this one & the s200 which costs $650.00, & the s100 costs $999.00+

    Thanks

  • Sony is better for

camcored but pictures CANON AND NIKON

  • I feeled myself watching TV-shop

  • "Bigger is always better, we all know that." That's what she said

  • A big lens!? You guys should see the Century Optics Extreme Fisheye it like a foot wide and like 6in tall.

  • its logan!

  • Can you put other lenses on it?

  • @DionNL95 no

  • For the still shot .. is it motion capture? or will it be blurry if someones moving?

  • I strongly recommend the Panasonic HDC-TM700K or the 300K. Any in the Canon Vixia HF S( 20 or 200 are good) line. I being a DSLR film maker am currently using the Canon EOS Rebel t2i for it's cinematic advantage. Inbox me with any other comments or questions. THIS APPLIES TO ANY ONE WITH QUESTIONS

  • i am looking for some information about camcorders, thanks for the comment.

  • i got one! it has everything i need. you can attach lenses/filters/adapters, flash, microfone, video output for external monitor or tv. nice pictures too. tons of features/functions/settings. it's the perfect camera for you who wants quality, and the best but not most expencive. i really recommend it. the manual-focus-wheel was nice. you can change so that you adjust not just focus. also exposure and more

  • LOOK AT THAT HORSE

  • TOO ALL CONSIDERING BUYING THIS OR THE HF S10

In my experience buying a camera without built in memory is a better deal.

The hard drives placed in most of these high capacity cameras consists of materials that are very prone to early breakage, I STRONGLY recommend you go for a camera that is SDHC compatible because an SD card is easily replacable

  • @MistaSantaClaus Which camcorder would you recommend?

  • how much does it cost?

  • @shaftaloo91 You know.... you could just type in Canon VIXIA HF S100 in google and find out (810)

  • hi! I recently got this camera but the importing of the files to my mac has been giving me so many problems.... could anyone give me a hint as how to import them THaNX

  • Hi,any body can tell me Why take much time to save the videos on the computer almost more than 24 hours and 45 minutes of recording

  • sorry im a retard but what does it mean to not have build in memory, doesnt it mean that you have to go and find the card yourself, and what memory card should i get and wahts the prise

  • @oidoy The difference in cost between the S10 and S100 is greater than a couple of 16GB cards. They need to be at least group 6 to operate at 1920x1080 but I can get them in the UK for around £17.

  • @oidoy In S10 and S11 (now S20 and S21), it simply means there is 32 or 64 gb of non-removable, flash memory inside the camera. For many, it's simply more convenient. The S100 (now S200), with exactly same internals, can have some possible advantages, e.g. If you find a good deal on flash memory, and on the camera itself, it can be in significantly less than its siblings. 2) With a newer PC having SD card reader, file transfer can be a lot faster directly from card.

    Great cams, whichever one!

  • @arctics4 Canon VIXIA HF S20 is a poweful camcorder with 32GB internal flash drive and two SD memory card slots. does that mean that you can put more gb on it when it says two Sd memory card slots

  • does it have a mic input?

  • @Dooshtv It does and just as well. The wind noise is terrible. My wife made a windgag that goes around the barrel, which works quite well but it gets in the way of the custom wheel.

  • stupid question... but can you do slow-mo by altering the frames rate

  • @wuzza123 Of course ... actually this is how it's done.

  • @Tarekfakih37 thanks, I'm not really... good at these things haha

  • this is the comcorder where if you miss a picture you can take it during a recorder?

  • this guy kind of looks like Josh from Destination Truth

  • digital zoom...? worst feature ever created.

  • TERRIBLE Stabilization

  • @kjh011 Yes it is :) Best solution... buy a tripod.

  • cn you get a fisheye for these

  • @chickeroo223 yep!

  • @2020ErA Okay, can you send me a link of what kind of fisheye it is??

  • @chickeroo223 Im pretty sure you can, ive seen them before

  • is this better than the HFS200 series?

  • @BSboarder189 i think so, because its cheaper mainly... and there's nothing truely outstanding about the hfs200 compared to this one, except for maybe the bigger screen... but even still the bigger screen is a touch screen (which i don't like)... im gonna be using the hfs100 mainly for filming skating and snowboarding, which the 60i is gonna be super helpful for, and im also gonna be making short films, which the 24p setting is useful for... all around an awesome camera!

  • I just bought this camera and was surprised at how well the manuel focus. Really great camera for a serious film maker and you don't have to spend a couple grand on it.

  • @13Moviemansam it doesn tshoot in 1080p does it?

  • Comment removed

  • @13Moviemansam

Is the quality good at night time or low light environments??

  • @Darktodra If you adjust the shutter speed to as high as it will go, it works fairly well. You can also adjust other aspects of it so you can film with different types of lights; ie. indoor, outdoor, fluorescent etc. Try different settings to see which works the best.

  • @13Moviemansam thanks

  • @13Moviemansam what is the retail price and where can i get one

  • @gearsbeast360 I got mine for bout $900. I got it at a place called shutterbug in Eugene OR, where there is no sales tax. I bet you could get a better deal online.... try B&H photo.

  • @13Moviemansam thanks

  • @13Moviemansam Where did you buy it? Its not on the Canon site anymore :(

  • @AleenaBaby12 I got it in Eugene oregon at a place called shutterbug. I bet you could get it on ebay or another online store.

  • Rebel T2I or Vixia hf series? for movie making? which would u prefer?

  • @pandanese90 The rebel man! the 720 is so nice!

  • i saw the hf-s20 at bestbuy today. they look exactly the same! can someone please clarify the differences between the hf-s10 and the hf-s20? thanks ;D

  • @ThaShitTalka 1920x1280 hd nuff said

  • Really? No, but really really?

  • lol the camera guy shooting this review felt akward

  • Canon HF S100 is the very best camcorder on the market. It is the complete package for both the pro and the regular Joe. What's more, even if you are technologically challenged it is easy to use.

  • really really really really really really !!!! dammit

  • can you get a fisheye for it???

  • what s the size of the lense? i want to get a lens hood.

  • Is it possible to do a lime lapse on a Canon VIXIA HF21 HD camera? Please help!

  • Is there a difference in quality if you shoot video's onto an SD card other than shooting on the direct hard drive like on the S10?

  • i can upload the footage on this camera to image mixer 3(the program that came with it) but from there i cant get the footage onto my computer hard drive or anything so i can't edit it or upload to youtube. can anyone help?

  • can this camcorder connect to any kinds of handles?

  • how

    much is it

  • could you put a death lens on this camera???

  • Really, Really!!!!

  • how's the manual focusing (bluring images and stuff) in this cam

  • i want this camera so bad now

i wonder if my mom will get it

  • what is better flash memory or a SD card?

  • it is the same like the Canon LEGRIA HFS100 ??

  • I noticed that the face detection is also pretty good.

  • iv bin told its not actually fully hd ?

  • dont know which one to buy if s10 or s100 cause lets say if ur in disney recording and u run out of memory with the s10 ur gonna need to have a laptop or something to transfer all that memory right? and with s100 u can maybe have an extra SD. which one should i take? are SD cards with more than 20 gb alot?

  • @zigi92 yes large storage SD cards are expensive, a 32 gig sd card is about 130 bucks, give or take where you get it from. for you i think that the vixia hf s10 is a better option, more storage is always better, but if you already have a bunch of sd cards laying around then the vixia hf s100 is your guy. hope that helps.

  • @tealpsyclone thanks man!

  • @zigi92 you are very welcome. if there is anything else that i can help with just ask.

  • @tealpsyclone How do you upload footage to youtube ?

  • @djccchouse sorry for the slow response. but to answer your question im going to have to ask one of my own. what editing suite are you using? while they are all similar there are many differences for each. and some are easier than others.

  • @tealpsyclone i normally use adobe premiere elements 8 wich runs very slow on my computer. But today i think i am going to try the DISC 2 that came with the camera because it says editing software, converter e.t.c

but it would help if somebody could recommend me a good editing programm especially for my Camera

    Philipp

  • @djccchouse ok i personally use the final cut studio suite to edit all my video but if you can get the raw video into a workable codec there should be no problems at all, it is also possible to speed up your system by working with videos that do not need to be ripped on the fly. i do not own this camera and i wish i did but my experience with other cameras and their software makes me feel that the software that comes with it is more than good to get some workable video.

    h.264 is the best codec

  • @tealpsyclone I disagree. H.264 is an absolutely fantastic codec....for delivery. Streaming, Blu-ray, you name it, it's great. But it is not anywhere near the "best" codec for shooting or editing. In fact, it's a processor hog and it's not nearly as good quality as a lot of others except at a very high bitrate. A simple workaround for editing h264 on slower machines is converting the footage to something like Prores before beginning the edit.

  • @avooslwuthoqquan i don't know what you are disagreeing to but i personally only work in H.264 (sometimes prores 422). i love it, it is smooth and works perfectly between all my systems.

BTW the exact quote from my earlier comment "H.264 is the best codec"

  • @tealpsyclone @tealpsyclone You might like it, but it is not the best quality codec for editing, period. It's not even one of the best. It is a highly compressed delivery codec. Some cameras natively shoot h.264 which limits your options, but when given a choice there's no reason to ever use it for editing.

  • @avooslwuthoqquan fair enough, everyone has preferences. personally i like working in it because it works well across all of my systems and that is all. i like it, it works well enough for me, when i have to share projects with others.

i currently work in prores 422 and i enjoy the results. sorry for the confusion, i need to stop writing comments in the early/late hours.

  • @djccchouse there is nothing wrong with premiere or any adobe products, to each their own and your choice is only up to you and what works the best for you. if premiere elements is slow on your computer, unfortunately the best option may be to get a new rig or at the very least upgrade a bit. more ram will only ever help.

  • I have this camera, and I'm finding new things every time I sit and spend time playing with it. I plan on putting together a short film, and I will post it when I do.

Yes, there is a mic jack.

  • is their a mic jack

  • @mckMagicman1 yes

  • bigger is always better

    thats so true xD

  • @Skandinaver92 haha :D

  • I Have Thee Same Camera And Was Wondering What Video Converter Was Used For This Video?? I Am Trying To Find A Good Converter That Will Keep My Videos In HD.. Any Advice Would Be Great...

  • If you have a mac, use iSquint or VisualHub

  • ok so what is the primary color filter

  • Hey I'm pretty new with camcorders and stuff like this. I was wondering if you can buy extra lens for this camera, I tried looking at canon website but couldn't find any. Is that because there aren't any? I'd greatly appreciate some feedback, thanks.

  • @Rand0mVide0z

amazon has some, just type in the product name and it shows some accessories for the camcorder

  • @Rand0mVide0z On most comsumer cameras you cant change the lens or u can but their not designed to be changed

  • How do you put a mic on?

  • @MilexProductions on the shoe on top..

  • or there is a microphone jack.

  • tigerdirect is shit.

dont ever buy anything there unless u know u dont need to return it.

and where they find these fucktards to do the "reviews"

    fucking looser

  • he realllly says reallly alot

  • This guy has no idea what he is talking about...

  • why?

  • Because he literally doesn't. The ONLY difference between then s10 and 100 are memory.

Lenses that can be especially true--that bigger is better? He doesn't even know why (light gathering power, btw).

There's only one decent review about the s100 on youtube. Look for it.

  • Why does it matter whether he knows why it's better or not? for a review, all you need to know is that it gives better image quality. Does you know that it's light gathering power is better give you an edge in filming?

tl;dr He's giving an short review, he's not an expert, gtfo.

  • @BfeoAdmin could that be the one from wmacphail? i found that one very good and informing

  • @Narutotjuhh yep. I'll be buying the s10 this semester. =P

  • @BfeoAdmin yeah me 2, as soon as i saved up enough moneyxD im still a little in doubt about the s10 or s100, but i think the internal flash memory is more convenient than an SD card

  • @Narutotjuhh Yeah, I'm going for internal. Besides, you only save like, 10 bucks with sd cards. There is only a $100 dollar difference now for 32gig internal. Besides, 32gig is apparently about 12 hours, which is PLENTY. The sd card will only be for transferring and backup.

  • Great video! Can someone help me with one question? can i put a baby death fisheye lens on this camera?

  • will you be killing the baby yourself ?

  • Hire a new dude to show off the product(s), this guy seems terribly informed..

  • yea he has no idea what hes doing haha.

  • That's why all of them are looking at that piece of paper on the table.

  • haha yea

  • I would be more impressed if the review was actually filmed with the Canon HFS100 .

  • VIXIA i thought it was LEGRIA!!!!!!!

  • It is, depending on where you live.

  • I really need to know :P what is the diffeerence beetween Legria and Vixia ?

  • LEGRIA is the PAL version, VIXIA is the NTSC version

  • could you make a good hort movie with this?

  • I wish this guy would stop doing that lipsmack sound everytime hes about to speak..... soooo annoying.

  • Can someone tell me how this camera performs in comparison to an hv40?

  • many of users claim that HFS100 & HFS10 way to better compare to onther canon product..

  • does anyone know if this camera has night vision?

it says it has "night mode" but i'm wondering if it has actual Night Vision, Zero Light, shows up Green?

  • Does anyone know, what this camera's battery life is? Is it really only 60 minutes?

  • on the s10 or the s100 are you able to get a fish eye lens for either one?

  • Dose this camera work with an iMac?

  • If you don't know that much perhaps you shouldn't be buying an expensive camera.

Yes it does, you just transfer it onto your HD via USB and convert it.

  • yes

  • do these cams come with a remote?

  • Yes theres a little remote. Includes Start/stop, Photo, zoom in/out, func, menu, playlist, set, up down left right etc. stop, disp.

  • You can add other lenses??

  • Yes, the front is threaded.

  • Ok so is the ONLY difference between this and the HF S10 the no built-in memory or are there other differences too?

  • correct, i have the cam itself, and just bough an SD 32 GB..

  • Pretty much. But the S10 gives a few additional (and pretty much useless) on-screen options that work with the integrated SD memory.

  • I like how the battery tells you how many minutes it has left

  • My god...I would murder a bum with a steak knife for this camera....

  • Good idea but unfortunately bums with steak knives generally don't own this camera.

You might want to try murdering a camera enthusiast instead.

  • to bad huh...Anyone know how this compares to the HV20/30/40 and similarly priced Canon models?

  • "bums with steak knives" - i've gotta' start using that one... too funny ;o)

  • I would like to buy that camera. But how many GB does it have ?

  • it requires a memory card up to 16

  • I saw a Sony Camcorder with 120 GB. Don't you see that a memory card for a Canon with only 16 GB is not enough? And how many hours can I record with that 16 GB memory ?

  • 3-4 hrs

  • Thanks Sly. But with a 120 Gb I will record for days !!!

  • yahh

  • Another question before I buy... Apart from that Canon Vixia 100... don't you have another one, the latest ?

  • the s100 has none but the s10 has 32gb built in

both have a sd card input for up to 32gb more memory
