  • So like i don't have access to all those equipment, i was wondering if i could use spray paint instead

  • The actual painting was good but the color is gaudy imo.

  • These guys are the best

  • muita burrice

  • exelent

  • YOU UPLOADED :D <3

  • Sooooo yellow :P

  • I finally found the stuff he was mixing into the clear paint to give it the metal-flake look. I couldn't understand what he was saying in the video, but I managed, so here you go: Google > Paint with Pearl

  • @clipwizard o.O u couldnt understand pearl?

  • I had a case I did one time the fram I took it to have it powered coated so it wouldnt screach easy but man that looks sweet.

  • I thought you were gonna make margaritas. lol

  • Wish i had a sand blaster, or a mask

  • wow that looks awesome, do you have any pics of what the computer looked like after it was built?

  • Why dont u guys open a computer paint shop? i bet you can make some bucks out of this ? charge 20 dollars plus whatever the hell ur paints costs....and soon the computer painters will be richer than the computer makers! :D

  • Ok now, we'll just put this inside the car along side the engine, and we're ready to go!

  • That was awesome!!!

  • who wants his computer yellow? :D

  • @WhoSticks who doesnt?

  • @WhoSticks he did

  • @WhoSticks i do

  • @WhoSticks How about a matte black chassis with yellow UV reactive water coolant, and white cabling.... :)

  • Good Video - should only briefly flash the Text box asking to visit the website- having itupduring most of the video is annoying.

  • so what are the things that are needed?

  • that is sexy yellow bill

  • how much is the pressure do you use to paint it?

  • did someone take a piss on his case

  • some spoilers and rims and it's ready

  • That finish is just awesome! What paint should I use if I didnt have a spray gun like you have? Any recommendations?

  • @reco1977 just use a can of spray paint. just spray about 15-20 cm away from the metal and dont hold it over a spot for too long or it will bead up

  • Really nice paint job, I dont like yellow but still very nice.

  • very nice fininshed

  • en donde puedo ver algo similar, pero en español?

  • hi im thinking of painting my pc nzxt phantom case and want to no the full name of all 3 paints as i can noot read to grate can you send me the full names plz

  • thumbs up

  • what did you spend on the tools for the sand blaster and the paint gun?

  • How expensive is such a painting???

  • Can I get the same effect with spray paint?

  • All metals oxidize btw

  • @monstermawd what brand of paint do you use for your airbrush/paintgun thingy

  • Miata mx-5

  • does this help with the performance of the computer system, will my word open faster if I spray my computer yellow. If I paint it orange will excel open faster, likewise if I use photoshop would perhaps painting my computer blue increase speed. Should we use more toxic nasty chemicals? Is this completely pointless? Am I embaressed for my fellow man who now thinks spraying computers is cool with braided cables

  • @CubeRepublic Does a yellow car make you go down the road faster? Does an orange car have better mpg?

  • wow!

  • kinda chinsey on the mazda yellow, can really see the primer undercoat at the end of the vid (7:26) LOL

  • Can be paint job get any sweeter? I contend it cannot!!

  • 0:15 wtf ? :D Naah that is soo cool !

  • foda-se essa cor e brutal especialmente os brilhantes !!! cool

  • hey !! :D i just wanna know how to have a low temp cpu even if i use stock cpu cooler does anyone knows..?

  • @chickdizout05

You can't have both, pick one.

  • @chickdizout05 With the stock CPU cooler your really much limited, what you see is what you get. Now, as long as it isn't overclocked, and you have a highly well vented case with plenty of air flow you'll be fine...again at stock speed.

What CPU do you have and what are your current temps?

  • @DarkCraft41 i have an amd athlon @ stock speed 1.8ghz idle temp.39c

  • @chickdizout05 Your pretty much fine at that then. If your still looking for cooler temps then about all you can try with the stock cooler is adding or replacing the fan(s) with higher CFM ones.

  • That chassis looks nice, does anyone know the name of it or the case that has it?

  • @iTzYoshiro He mentions it's aluminium so my money is on a Lian Li. Even if it isn't, they are damn fine cases, I own a Lian Li PC-A77B and it's amazing!

  • 6:07 And that how you make crystal meth kids XD, JK great vid and awesome painting.

  • Comment removed

  • damn that was gorgeous.

    bumblebee Case.

  • Comment removed

  • That was pretty sweet, But I have a question, Does this mess with the motherboards ground? Because the computer case acts as a ground.. So Just wondering, I dont want to fry my motherboard! PLEASE Respond Back!

  • @TheBMXStreetlife The case doesn't act as a ground for the MB. It's grounded with the PSU.

  • @sgtm1775 Ohh I getcha thanks very much!!

  • @sgtm1775

Any main board that is mounted with metal standoffs will be grounded to the case. I have a dual PWM fan setup on my Corsair H70 cooler and I'm using the case chassis as my ground path for the PWM and TAC signals on the CPU FAN header on the motherboard.

If it's in a metal chassis, and mounts using metal then the case is ground.

  • thats so hot i would do mine red tho great work

  • Taxi yellow nice.

  • I LOVE YELLOW

  • it was a mazda protege

  • beautiful job o.o

  • Nice video, guys! What will it look like when it's all finished?

  • notice....zero eye protection with paint particles flying all over the place.....why worry about your lungs if you're just going to be blind anyways? when doing informative videos, please be sure to wear proper protective equipment

  • @dsandy82 you do understand that this is Bill Owen, Right???

  • Silly question this might be. But if you have a gun and compressor to do the color, then why not do the base coat/primer the same way ? Why use can spray ?

  • IS THAT AIR SANDPAPER?? IF IT IS THATS MAD!

  • i have a serious suggestion and im not trying to be a dick, if you are going to use a sandblaster a lot your going to be better off getting a sand blasting box/chamber from Harbor freight that way you can reuse your blast media

  • Wow that looks nice, I am keen to do something like this myself to my 800D

  • Hi there,is there any chance you could give us some specs on your spraying set up,like pref of gun & compressor settings?what compressor will do the job your doing, what psi etc? that would be great if poss,i guess it doesn't have to be like as big as a car spraying set does it? and s/cans look poxy.(Aussie slang for sux)

  • if i want it shiny do i have to add the clear coat that you added? ( idont want the powder you put in)

  • that sandblaster is every man's friend :). Love it, i want one :p

  • all this for a pc fkup

  • @paulcourson what does fkup mean?

  • For somebody that paints a lot you don't have a clue in the world on how to use your gun.

  • Are there any pics of this computer fully assembled?

  • @TH3DUBBSMODZ obviously he paints pretty damn good, when your good at painting strokes and spray patterns mean nothing

  • wow golden case. seems like holding gold case in hands. nice

  • What if I want to re-paint an old case that has scratches on the metal? Should I just sand off all the paint or is it fine spraying a new coat uniformly over the area (I know the paint color probably won't be exactly like the original so I'll have to re-paint all the panels anyway)

  • Great overall finish. Try Cheese cloth for the wipe down. I had to use this in the Navy when I was painting aircraft. Leaves a great clean surface to prime or paint on.

  • dont use his technige like he is primering.

always from left to right or right to left.

  • i really need ur help is there a easy way to remove the tool-less clips from the inside of a nzxt apollo i want to paint it but cant figure out how to get em out a safe way

  • how about soda blasting ??? :P

  • Cara tu é foda gostei muito valeu!!!!!!

  • Dude!! Great job!!! The pearl stile gave the case an awesome effect! Congratulations!

  • Great video!

Um..can you tell me the name of those two things that you added together @ 5:39 .Thanks in advance!

  • SONG at 7:47?

  • loppp[polp

  • You should be on pimp my computer!

  • @Avataryoutuification More like pimp my Rig .

  • @Avataryoutuification Gaming computers are always pimped out like that, ive seen some with flames, waves, cut outs that look like sparklers, lights on the inside, and blinkers out! ive seen some amazing cases!

  • @Dreambro1 Mine has a cold cathode but that's about all the pimping I did to it, just that and some cable management :/

  • Hey, I was wondering if i could paint the inside of PC (which is black) Green UV Reactive Paint. It doesn't say it's invisible (you can still see a bit of green without the UV Light on)? Could I also paint my Blue LED Fans (which are also black) Yellow UV Reactive Paint?

  • "Blow in out wipe it down." :)

  • Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there much risk of joints becoming stuck from the paint (thinking more of fans and hinges). any tips for avoiding these problems?

  • @michaelkitselaar If you give it proper time to dry (at least 72 hours) you shouldn't have the sticking. The problem is everyone wants to rush the painting process. Follow the directions on the paint cans (including primer) and you should be ok.

  • love the sand blaster. Sanding made easy.

  • wow. i want this haha.

  • is he saying give me some doritos ?

  • 480p does not do this justice.

  • i loved this video i loved the color aswell it unique i would of gone with cherry red and black ....but can u show another vid of this pc finished and built or the process??

  • what does sandblaster do?

  • @xXMaJORsONXx100 instead of hand sanding it with sand paper u sand blast it which sands in sum what with/ like a compressor

  • was that 1st thing sanding? never seen that before!

  • @MrDucktaper That's called Sandblasting, they use that for powdercoating and highquality paint jobs. It's usually cheaper to do then using sandpaper cause of the hours it takes to sand things.

  • wow look like a giant lego block

  • To the OP,

What kind of air compressor do you have? I just tried this yesterday, same sand blaster (except 20lb version) and I am not getting the material off as quickly as you are. I also purchased that special nozzle that you have. I was using glass bead media. I just went and bought some aluminum oxide blasting media, what media did you use?

  • i think when i spray mine ill just do the panels top and front, im not bothered about the frame

  • next time, put 50 percent rubbing alcohol in the air compressor to clean the dirt off. Works like a charm and no need to dry.

  • What kind of spray paint / protective coat would you recommend as I don't have access to a spray gun?

  • lol i cant afford a sandblaster so.....sand paper here i come XD

  • I love MODs. You guys did a great job.

  • awsome! much better than boring black boxes that are today. i really don't like black but all computer come in it. OK maybe some black but not all of it. would much rather have a beige PC (beige might not be very much fun but at least it's a PC speciality). but this thing is awosme. i was thinking of painting my PC in a KTM motorbike color. mostly orange with some small black detailes. :)

  • what was the thing he was doing in the very beginning of the video?

  • Im 13 an into building my own computers :), thats how i make my money, buy scrap, turn it into computers :D only thing i cant do is paint them :( would love to though!!!

Good job guys keep it up!!

    Sam

  • Pro paint job! nice work guys.

  • haha nice hanger, go turn on that circuit why dont ya lol

  • Great video guys.

    Few questions:

    1. Did you use "Omni" branded clear coat? I thought I saw that on the table.

    2. Did you strain the mixture after adding the pearl? I've shot colors before via HVLP guns, but I've never shot a pearl or metallic. So I'm not sure if I'm supposed to strain the paint with pearl/metallic additives in it.

If you could let me know, I'd really appreciate it. Getting ready to help my brother do his case real soon.

    Thanks-

  • Also, I have Duplicolor primer already, I've used SEM in the past, but it's a little pricey, is it worth it, or will the Duplicolor suffice? How many cans did you go through? Finally, how much paint did you use? Will 1/2 pint be enough?

  • That sand blaster is the shit. I hate manual sanding!

  • professional work! Amazing!

  • that's the way you do a mod nice job guys 10+

  • looks f*n beautiful!

  • WATS THE SONG??????????PLEASE

  • should it not smell later when is geting warm ???

  • should have powder coated it

  • descent paint job but what a load of crap, like the guy said use something softer than sand lol you're only preping for paint you just got to get all the shit off the metal not remove half the metal.

  • thank u that was helpfull for my mod.

  • that is a clean paint job

  • Did you rent the sandblaster?

  • Sand blasting warps the hell out of panels..no one in the body industry would blast with silica sand on a hood..maybe soda blasting or walnut shell blasting...as i said before..no need to sand interior of puter case... a 2 part epoxy primer will work great with no sanding..a trick to find out if im full of chit or not..spray some on a piece of old glass orr mirror and try and scrape it off with a razor blade.

  • i want to spry my case too!

    But i have no sandblastthing!

IS it ok if it get some sandpaper and rubb it a little and than use the primer??

My color is a not shining black!

nust i spray clear lacquer after all is done?!

    please answer fast! ;)

  • yea i have the same questions

  • lol, get together with some one from the uk and make a "How to speak AU/UK English for Americans" video. Ive always wanted to learn it.

  • haha sounds like fun actually.

  • We've done it on The Mod Brothers Podcasts, several times already....lol

  • @MonsterMawd Is there a way to get the spec's on the Air compressor he was using to feed the sand blaster?

  • @tux0505 Australia and british accents sound nothing alike, i would know im british

  • @CrossyCriss Anyone should know that, haha :P

  • @CrossyCriss i agree, im australian

  • @CrossyCriss so your gay

  • @TheDownloadfreegames this just shows how stupid Americans really are :)

  • @CrossyCriss i m not american btthey say that ppl in england are gay

  • @TheDownloadfreegames thats so prejudice, i hardly ever see gay people in my country

  • so... sandblasting in the beginning was the only sanding that was done? or did you just not include it in the video?

Also, did you do multiple coats, or just sand, primer, yellow, sparkles, clear coat one right after the other?

  • does the case lose conductivity

  • So its ok to paint the motherboard back plate?

    let me know.

    thx.

  • nice ;-)

  • good job, nice color, i like it!!!

  • why paint it when you can powdercoat the case...its much stronger...painting is for cars

  • what do you mean when you said you still need to" prap you metal"

  • same thing when you paint plastics. if the surface isn't free of contaminants, the paint will not adhere. then if you get any flex, that paint will just flake and peel off. i always use adhesion promoter on most everything that i paint that could have some chance of flexing.

  • what kind of paint gun do you use?

  • i heard sand blasters warp the shape of steel because it generates heat?

  • hello

do you guys ship to Australia?

  • You have rx7

  • i just finnished sanding my cosmos 1000 with 80 grit sand paper (by hand) and i primeired it with self etching primeir and i also sanded and primeired the body and bars, hardrive bays, when i put the colour coat on i hope it dont peel of, anyone from uk used the plasti-kote brand?? how did it turn out?

  • umm the case isnt made of aluminium, its made of iron... how i know? :P well my last case's color came off (its what happens when you stick yuor fot on it in summer, i guess) and it got all rusty, and when dorpping a magnet, i usually find it on the side of the case.

  • maybe he has a different case?

  • @tucker123454 maybe, but most (not all, most) cases are made of steel sheets today, i dunno why tbh, but they are, theres aluminium ones too but this case is my 4th 1 and they all were steel, we'll see next one :P

  • oh I also used spray paint, and I have 3 different cases if I don't like this one

  • see I am too ghetto, I took some house paint and a foam brush thing and just painted after I took out everything, and I am gonna clean all that shit off one day and do it the right way, cuz right now I don't have any money for anything, which is why I am waiting to get a new computer and stuff, mine sucks

  • i have a air compressor, what is the minimum pressure for sandblasting? im assuming you went over the sand blasting with hand paper afterwards? if i already painted my chasis (which is peeling) can i just sandblast it away and proceed with priming and painting? thanks your videos are awesome

  • How can i get "shiny" look when i dont have copressor? Is there some sort of spray wersion ?

  • Yea, just use a metal flake base coat in a can, then come back with clear over the top.

  • thanks!

  • Do you have to sand the chassis? If so what grit?

  • yup. use a heavy grit like a 250 or 400 first, whichever one won't dig in too deep, but you need to remove the zinc coating or any other paint before you spray.

sand with the heavy grit to remove bulk, then use a fine grit, like 600 or 800 to make the case smooth again, don't wet sand unless youre sanding off paint.

after this you're ready to prime then base coat.

  • @lizardmannnn

    80 grain,

  • powder coating would have looked nice...

  • shumara waak kaan, (in balochi)

  • my god i love u guys....when i grow up im sure im gonna end up being like this too....since im only 18 and in college i dont really got time to do stuff like this but i really like your stuff!!

  • Thank you! for watching and commenting, Bill is posting a new computer he built for Nvidia this week, please subscribe to our page, if you dont already, so you don't miss it! :)

  • I have an question. Before I saw youre Videos, I cleaned the case with a special thing like a special petrol "gasoline cleaner" after them I cleaned everything, I've painted all white and when all painted in black for example, in a special color, etc., or orange. Is that so also in regulation with no primer.

  • idk, some of these cases by mnpctech are cool looking, but they just aren't powerful displays of creativity or skill.
