Why dont u guys open a computer paint shop? i bet you can make some bucks out of this ? charge 20 dollars plus whatever the hell ur paints costs....and soon the computer painters will be richer than the computer makers! :D
hi im thinking of painting my pc nzxt phantom case and want to no the full name of all 3 paints as i can noot read to grate can you send me the full names plz
does this help with the performance of the computer system, will my word open faster if I spray my computer yellow. If I paint it orange will excel open faster, likewise if I use photoshop would perhaps painting my computer blue increase speed. Should we use more toxic nasty chemicals? Is this completely pointless? Am I embaressed for my fellow man who now thinks spraying computers is cool with braided cables
@chickdizout05 With the stock CPU cooler your really much limited, what you see is what you get. Now, as long as it isn't overclocked, and you have a highly well vented case with plenty of air flow you'll be fine...again at stock speed.
What CPU do you have and what are your current temps?
@chickdizout05 Your pretty much fine at that then. If your still looking for cooler temps then about all you can try with the stock cooler is adding or replacing the fan(s) with higher CFM ones.
@iTzYoshiro He mentions it's aluminium so my money is on a Lian Li. Even if it isn't, they are damn fine cases, I own a Lian Li PC-A77B and it's amazing!
That was pretty sweet, But I have a question, Does this mess with the motherboards ground? Because the computer case acts as a ground.. So Just wondering, I dont want to fry my motherboard! PLEASE Respond Back!
Any main board that is mounted with metal standoffs will be grounded to the case. I have a dual PWM fan setup on my Corsair H70 cooler and I'm using the case chassis as my ground path for the PWM and TAC signals on the CPU FAN header on the motherboard.
If it's in a metal chassis, and mounts using metal then the case is ground.
notice....zero eye protection with paint particles flying all over the place.....why worry about your lungs if you're just going to be blind anyways? when doing informative videos, please be sure to wear proper protective equipment
Silly question this might be. But if you have a gun and compressor to do the color, then why not do the base coat/primer the same way ? Why use can spray ?
i have a serious suggestion and im not trying to be a dick, if you are going to use a sandblaster a lot your going to be better off getting a sand blasting box/chamber from Harbor freight that way you can reuse your blast media
Hi there,is there any chance you could give us some specs on your spraying set up,like pref of gun & compressor settings?what compressor will do the job your doing, what psi etc? that would be great if poss,i guess it doesn't have to be like as big as a car spraying set does it? and s/cans look poxy.(Aussie slang for sux)
What if I want to re-paint an old case that has scratches on the metal? Should I just sand off all the paint or is it fine spraying a new coat uniformly over the area (I know the paint color probably won't be exactly like the original so I'll have to re-paint all the panels anyway)
Great overall finish. Try Cheese cloth for the wipe down. I had to use this in the Navy when I was painting aircraft. Leaves a great clean surface to prime or paint on.
i really need ur help is there a easy way to remove the tool-less clips from the inside of a nzxt apollo i want to paint it but cant figure out how to get em out a safe way
@Avataryoutuification Gaming computers are always pimped out like that, ive seen some with flames, waves, cut outs that look like sparklers, lights on the inside, and blinkers out! ive seen some amazing cases!
Hey, I was wondering if i could paint the inside of PC (which is black) Green UV Reactive Paint. It doesn't say it's invisible (you can still see a bit of green without the UV Light on)? Could I also paint my Blue LED Fans (which are also black) Yellow UV Reactive Paint?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there much risk of joints becoming stuck from the paint (thinking more of fans and hinges). any tips for avoiding these problems?
@michaelkitselaar If you give it proper time to dry (at least 72 hours) you shouldn't have the sticking. The problem is everyone wants to rush the painting process. Follow the directions on the paint cans (including primer) and you should be ok.
i loved this video i loved the color aswell it unique i would of gone with cherry red and black ....but can u show another vid of this pc finished and built or the process??
@MrDucktaper That's called Sandblasting, they use that for powdercoating and highquality paint jobs. It's usually cheaper to do then using sandpaper cause of the hours it takes to sand things.
What kind of air compressor do you have? I just tried this yesterday, same sand blaster (except 20lb version) and I am not getting the material off as quickly as you are. I also purchased that special nozzle that you have. I was using glass bead media. I just went and bought some aluminum oxide blasting media, what media did you use?
awsome! much better than boring black boxes that are today. i really don't like black but all computer come in it. OK maybe some black but not all of it. would much rather have a beige PC (beige might not be very much fun but at least it's a PC speciality). but this thing is awosme. i was thinking of painting my PC in a KTM motorbike color. mostly orange with some small black detailes. :)
Im 13 an into building my own computers :), thats how i make my money, buy scrap, turn it into computers :D only thing i cant do is paint them :( would love to though!!!
1. Did you use "Omni" branded clear coat? I thought I saw that on the table.
2. Did you strain the mixture after adding the pearl? I've shot colors before via HVLP guns, but I've never shot a pearl or metallic. So I'm not sure if I'm supposed to strain the paint with pearl/metallic additives in it.
If you could let me know, I'd really appreciate it. Getting ready to help my brother do his case real soon.
Also, I have Duplicolor primer already, I've used SEM in the past, but it's a little pricey, is it worth it, or will the Duplicolor suffice? How many cans did you go through? Finally, how much paint did you use? Will 1/2 pint be enough?
descent paint job but what a load of crap, like the guy said use something softer than sand lol you're only preping for paint you just got to get all the shit off the metal not remove half the metal.
Sand blasting warps the hell out of panels..no one in the body industry would blast with silica sand on a hood..maybe soda blasting or walnut shell blasting...as i said before..no need to sand interior of puter case... a 2 part epoxy primer will work great with no sanding..a trick to find out if im full of chit or not..spray some on a piece of old glass orr mirror and try and scrape it off with a razor blade.
same thing when you paint plastics. if the surface isn't free of contaminants, the paint will not adhere. then if you get any flex, that paint will just flake and peel off. i always use adhesion promoter on most everything that i paint that could have some chance of flexing.
i just finnished sanding my cosmos 1000 with 80 grit sand paper (by hand) and i primeired it with self etching primeir and i also sanded and primeired the body and bars, hardrive bays, when i put the colour coat on i hope it dont peel of, anyone from uk used the plasti-kote brand?? how did it turn out?
umm the case isnt made of aluminium, its made of iron... how i know? :P well my last case's color came off (its what happens when you stick yuor fot on it in summer, i guess) and it got all rusty, and when dorpping a magnet, i usually find it on the side of the case.
@tucker123454 maybe, but most (not all, most) cases are made of steel sheets today, i dunno why tbh, but they are, theres aluminium ones too but this case is my 4th 1 and they all were steel, we'll see next one :P
see I am too ghetto, I took some house paint and a foam brush thing and just painted after I took out everything, and I am gonna clean all that shit off one day and do it the right way, cuz right now I don't have any money for anything, which is why I am waiting to get a new computer and stuff, mine sucks
i have a air compressor, what is the minimum pressure for sandblasting? im assuming you went over the sand blasting with hand paper afterwards? if i already painted my chasis (which is peeling) can i just sandblast it away and proceed with priming and painting? thanks your videos are awesome
yup. use a heavy grit like a 250 or 400 first, whichever one won't dig in too deep, but you need to remove the zinc coating or any other paint before you spray.
sand with the heavy grit to remove bulk, then use a fine grit, like 600 or 800 to make the case smooth again, don't wet sand unless youre sanding off paint.
my god i love u guys....when i grow up im sure im gonna end up being like this too....since im only 18 and in college i dont really got time to do stuff like this but i really like your stuff!!
Thank you! for watching and commenting, Bill is posting a new computer he built for Nvidia this week, please subscribe to our page, if you dont already, so you don't miss it! :)
I have an question. Before I saw youre Videos, I cleaned the case with a special thing like a special petrol "gasoline cleaner" after them I cleaned everything, I've painted all white and when all painted in black for example, in a special color, etc., or orange. Is that so also in regulation with no primer.
So like i don't have access to all those equipment, i was wondering if i could use spray paint instead

umm the case isnt made of aluminium, its made of iron... how i know? :P well my last case's color came off (its what happens when you stick yuor fot on it in summer, i guess) and it got all rusty, and when dorpping a magnet, i usually find it on the side of the case.

tucker123454 2 years ago

How can i get "shiny" look when i dont have copressor? Is there some sort of spray wersion ?
dingo27mobile 2 years ago
Yea, just use a metal flake base coat in a can, then come back with clear over the top.

Do you have to sand the chassis? If so what grit?
lizardmannnn 2 years ago
yup. use a heavy grit like a 250 or 400 first, whichever one won't dig in too deep, but you need to remove the zinc coating or any other paint before you spray.
sand with the heavy grit to remove bulk, then use a fine grit, like 600 or 800 to make the case smooth again, don't wet sand unless youre sanding off paint.
after this you're ready to prime then base coat.

I have an question. Before I saw youre Videos, I cleaned the case with a special thing like a special petrol "gasoline cleaner" after them I cleaned everything, I've painted all white and when all painted in black for example, in a special color, etc., or orange. Is that so also in regulation with no primer.

idk, some of these cases by mnpctech are cool looking, but they just aren't powerful displays of creativity or skill.
