  • Those who r not bengali and those who have no heart to understand the life , subtleness, and richness of Tagore song, just dont listen to it. For u people there is "sasta" bollywood songs..listen to that...you will find "life".Tagore songs always demand listeners with a subtle thinking. And those who r shouting for determining tal, laya etc...go through the history of Tagore songs...Tagore's music is absolutely his own creation and unique in nature..

  • splendid!

  • The use of tanpura and esraj would have been much better accompaniment.

  • fabulous song

  • This song was originally patterned by Tagore to be sung in the tempo of a standard English waltz (12 3, 12 3, or quick quick slow. This slow, "dhala style" is not a Tagorean concept for this song, I am sorry to comment.

  • as far my knowledge concerned, rabindranath tagore never mentioned any tempo restriction in any songs (unline the notes and beats), can u please clarify this (if any)?

  • Please check the swaralipi for the above song. Use of "ektal" (which is same as waltz) is noted.

  • i think u didnt notice my comment - i told there is no tempo restriction, but there is ofcourse suitable notes and taals fixed for all songs. same song with same notes and taal can be sung in different tempo, is not it? ektal means some frame of beats, not the time of beats. correct me if i am wrong.

  • Ektaal is the same as waltz? Please don't make me laugh... Ektal is not the "tempo" but a rhythym cycle and it's laya (tempo) could be vilambit(slow), madhya (medium) or drut (fast).

  • Surely I'm not deluding myself- that's Suchitra Mitra, right? She is so divine, I wish she was singing.

  • This is one of teh rare vedios of its kind
