  • An Ace or deuce is great; so is the three and four;

    if they fall right, you'll win a lot more!!!

  • I loved it when Jim started running onto the set because he was an avid runner. In the earlier episodes, he would just walk onto the set.

  • Aces are Nice, Deuces are Great, but please o please, don't give me an eight!

  • and here's something funny:

    The Theme to Card Sharks was used on Double Dare on CBS w/Alex Trebek and who would've thought that the 2 of them would end up on Card Sharks w/Jim Perry as host and Alex as a Player?

    and plus, I have a funny thought:

    Jim Perry and Alex Trebek as the Game Show Version of The Man From U.N.C.L.E. and Illya Kuryakin LOL

  • I got an opening poem!

    Aces up and eights down;

    If you turn one over you will have a frown!

    Oooooon Card Sharks!

  • Jim hosted the Miss Canada Pageant for 24 years! (1967-91). Check out some of the videos I recently uploaded. You will see some great singing performances by Jim.

  • So Jim was hosting "Bullseye" at this time?

  • No, it was less than a month away from premiering.

  • @InfernoCouchemar yes he was and I LOVE Bullseye

    My favorite Barry & Enright Game Show along w/The Joker's Wild w/Jack Barry, Jim Peck and Bill Cullen, Hot Potato w/Bill Cullen, Break the Bank w/Tom Kennedy and Tic Tac Dough w/The Winker and Jim Caldwell

  • who's jack Clark

  • Jack Clark was a game show host and announcer in the '70s. He hosted a show called Crosswits, a celebrity/civilian crossword puzzle game for 5 years. He was an announcer for Tattletale, Wheel of Fortune for a good chunk of Pat Sajak's early run after Charlie O'Donnell left to do TV news. He unfortunately passed from cancer in 1988. When he passed, Pat Sajak eulogized him at the end of an episode of Wheel.

  • At the time this aired, wasn't Alex hosting "Battlestars"? Also at the time he was hosting a show taped in Vancouver for American TV, "Pitfall". Gotta love him in the Canadiens jersey, although I thought he was a Leafs fan.

  • Actually, this aired one year before "Battlestars" and "Pitfall," so this was during his one of his periods of unemployment (before Jeopardy!).

  • And to the best of my knowledge, Trebek never wore a suit and tie during his two weeks on "Card Sharks."

  • @Tubewings You may be right about that. He did stop wearing the Canadiens jersey after they were eliminated from the 1979-80 NHL playoffs. That particular year, they swept the Hartford Whalers in the opening round, but lost to the Minnesota North Stars in seven in the second round, ending their run of four straight Stanley Cup championships.

  • The biggest connection with Tom Kennedy and Jack Clark is "Split Second" (ABC 1972-75) where they were the host and announcer respectively.
