How do you know that it's only 3V ?

The charger can easily have a "step up" board, which give you 5V from only 2.4V of two AA.

You can get 5V from even only one AA if you want, just you don't get a high intensity output, and you divide the capacity of the AA.

One AA at 1.5V and 2000mA change with a "step up" to 6V will give you max of 500mA instead of 2000.

That could explain why it doesn't charge all the iPhone battery.

hey please answer me!! so whats with the charger? since it's about 3v, will it not charge or charge slowly or what? or do you mean if the phone's dead, you can't revive it cus the voltage is not high enough??

how do you know if the is no voltage boost from this charger? I'm asking because that is how 1xAA emergency charger works, 1.2-1.5v is boosted to ~5v by the circuit board inside.

Either way, I'd say it's only good to keep your phone running, trying to charge the battery with this kinda device usually doesn't work out well.

@auszombie You can just buy the 1000 or 1900 mAH battery-packs from ebay and combine them with a male to female iphone cord. That way your decive remains in perfect condition and the charger can charge your phone up at least once fully.

1.2v is the voltage of rechargeable batteries, which I would be using.
