  • This actually puts little strain on the moater.

  • well, yea.

  • they also tried to give me only 4800 for my mint 442 with only 89k on it! robbery i tell you!!! Mabey i just valued it wayyy more than 4800!!!! that car was comfy, fast, loud and a vagina magnet( that and the backseat WAS a couch, great 4 dates!)...ahh the days of the real muscle cars......not computer driven garbage( not garbage just cant fix everything with a flathead screwdriver and a wrench set!) keep the olds alive fellas! good to meet some cutlas enthusiasts.

  • hotrodoldsman......people def rip off those rearends...i put my 87 442 in for full hurst tranny rebuild and the dude was taking out my rearend! he said he needed 2 take it out for the tranny rebulidi'm gearhead not a dummy....made sure my orig 8.5 3.73 was still there ratted him out and needless to say i got free tranny fluid changes after that and that scumbags on unemp.!! all my #'s matched and had all orig parts i swapped out then some punk totaled my baby. i want another 87 442 non t-top!

  • 2.77 im realy sure just like caddy had unless someone changed it

  • So, sweet smoker man, wanna race? lol

  • sure once my engines' in! ;-)

  • How did you do that burn out? like what did u use the lightning rods and just hold it in first? do you hold the break and the gas?

  • put'er in first, mash the gas, feather the brake and there you go!

  • I used to have an 82 LeSabre with the 307 normal output engine. The only full size V-8 Sedan I ever owned that could get 30mpg on the highway. Amazing car.

  • probably something crappy like the 2:14 that was in my 86

  • hi, check with GM or spec's ??? my dad worked with GM for over 40 yrs and now is retired and thats how i was able to get both cars, plus i have gone to many olds shows and events and my 83 h/o came right off the line when my dad bought it and it came with the 8.5 3:73 posi, and i have the specs/documents and it shows 8.5 3:73 gear ratio

til this day..both my cars have very LOW LOW miles/KM's 83 has 6458km and my 84 has 7823km

    im working on getting a 87 442 and a 88 hurst

    take care..

  • ok, if you say so, I'm just going off of the few documents and books I have personally. My hurst has over 100,000 miles on it, so its probably not the best example of origionality.

  • con't.. both of my cars can do brake torque easily, however i put line locks system to help save the brakes to know you have a true H.O engine check you VIN code 9, a stock 307 is a code 7

only has 140-150 horses, however i ended up putting a 69 olds 442 350 rocket engine which has 400 horses in the 83 hurst

thanks for the video...oldsmobile all the way!!

  • hi, i own a 83 and 84 hurst olds, both are the same, they both came with 8.5 3:73 posi however if it has a 7.5 some were 3:73 non posi and posi same for the 2:73 then its not a true rearend for all you know could have been changed or replaced? the 307 H.O (high output) engine puts out 180-190 horses,

  • 1984 was the first year for the 8.5" rear standard equipment, all 1983's had 7.5" rearend from the factory. also, all hurst olds' had 3.73 posi rears, be it 7.5 or 8.5, but yea my 8.5 diff was robbed before I got the car.

  • totally right here. Glad I was beat to it. People need to know their stuff a little better eh?

  • how many horsepower does that 307 have?

  • like 160, back in 1984, now, fuck I dunno? MILLIONS!!! lol

  • Haha 307 isnt a completely useless engine :D alot of stock racers use them.... Good vid check out my 79 Hurstolds :D

  • ...does that really have the stock 307 in it? i have an 83 hurst olds and my 307 couldnt smoke the tires like that if its life depended on it! thats y i just bought a 455! oh yeah and how dd u do that just hold the brake and the gas?

  • yes! and with 125,000 miles on it!, mine was a dog when i bought it too, check your rear end gear ratio. your 83 should have a 7.5" rear like mine has now, but 84s came with the valueable(?) 8.5" rear, someone yanked it and i got a 7.5" w/a granny 2.20 geared open end, i rebuilt it with the stock 3.73 gear ratio and its been roast em at will ever since. thanks for the comment!
