McCain's plan and strategy is not to purposely be in Iraq for 100 or 1000 years. However, he is comitted to keeping the troops there as long as it takes. And also leaving some troops there to stay in the region in the event of victory. Even Barack has plans to leave a remaining force in Iraq following withdrawal, like we have done in other countries.
