Why, she was not even supposed to be a nation, we were supposed to be part of the corrupt British empire ( the early British, before they changed), not a Republic of freedom. Listen, we have made mistakes as Americans, what nation is not without its shadowy past? But America has triumphed over most of the, but we have a long way to go. I hope that you have total pride for the country that birthed you like I do mine. Please, do not take this as an insult. I do not mean it that way.

acrimonkey, I feel bad that you would criticize us as Americans. I know you are entitled to your opinion, and I respect that. But I would like to say this: America( my country) has been through many travails in life, and she has had to earn the respect of other nations, it did not come to her naturally. She became great not by fighting other nations for imperialism, no she became great because of her great laws, and her charitible disposition.
