When I was about nine yrs old, me and my family saw them while we were driving up a large hill in Columbus. They were a lot more playful than these boring buggers though, almost like they were showing off. Not sure if they noticed them, but it definitely seemed like some choppers in the area got curious a few seconds before they vanished.
I really don't have any opinion on what they are, but love seeing them in vids. It's like re-watching a favorite childhood movie :)
My wife and I saw 10 of these last night immediately after midnight New
Years eve 2012. We are in Beaverton, and they came from the south east and flew 2 at a time directly over our house then went into the upper atmosphere. Pretty freaky. We thought they were missiles.
I just saw one, about 15 miles SW of me. I live in newberg,i was heading home friday night.
Looked to the SW saw a bright light of which i thought was a plane heading into PDX.
10 mins later i go outside to realize the light hadn't moved. So i keep watching to see it would move. Nothing, so i went to grab my telescope to look at this stationary floating object. What i saw was a amazing HEXAGON like object with 6 or 7 lights surrounding 1 in the center.

They are orbs. The helicopter was probably a hologram, too. They project holograms of aircraft, especially chemtrail planes, and blinkers at night. ORBS. They are EVERYWHERE.

I too live in Portland. This is a plane on approach to PDX. It's coming from the East, and has it's landing lights on. These lights do not blink, or flash. I guarantee that's what you have here. I know because the flight path is the same for nearly all flights inbound from that direction. Can I ask, are you able to film these lights each and every night? Hmm?
The objects appear to be aircraft of some sort possibly in holding patterns as they seem to move like large planes coming into port. The repeated sightings and the angle of the setting sun suggests these are probably planes. This could also be atmospheric anomolies but I'm leaning toward aircraft.

Until I see one of these "orbs" zoom out at 6,000 mph (not hoaxed) then I'll consider the possibility. But this worldwide orb phenomenon is very explainable. Is it any coincidence most of these sightings occured on New Years just after midnight this year? It's people constructing homemade Chinese flying lanterns and releasing them. Eventually they disappear, because the candle goes out.

i believe that it is Angels returning with jesus. they are jsut waiting for the time to come....it will be soon. I just baught the Celestron Vista pix IS70 for viewing them through and it comes with a digital cam corder and photo camera. Got it here in the UK for £90 in the winter sale, Worth allot more than that. It's got a great focus on it. Nice catch by the way.
As a local Portlander, I too have seen these orbs but unfortunately they are distant landing lights coming into PDX.
However, the downtown blue orb captured is real. As I stated in another post I witnessed the same blue orb over Vancouver, WA in Oct 2010 with my girlfriend. With flight time in both helicopter and airplane, I know the difference between aircraft and unknown.

Two days ago I walked into the back yard shortly before sunset, looked up at the crescent moon and there were four BRIGHT orbs in a line moving south to north. They seemed to be "out for a stroll". I got my camera, but it wouldn't focus on them (sky was too blue). Then I noticed that two of them had even smaller ones coming out, flying around them like moons, then zooming off. I live in the Phoenix valley and I still haven't found someone else that saw them. Crazy, they were so bright.

@lilacstar1975 yeah, i live in portland and these really do look like planes. you can see them coming in from a long way off and they stay bright like that for a few minutes. however, the video he took of the blue and red orb hovering above the willamette river is legitimately a UFO. i witnessed it on a separate day myself. it went very high into the sky, was very fast, and made turns that would be impossible for an RC of any kind. at the end of the sighting it disappeared into the river.
I like you also carry a hd camera and tripod everywhere. I used to report these to MUFON but found them useless. to date 11/20/2010 at about 1830 hrs saw what looked to be like sprites or small bright lights in the sky in front of my home. Also a craft upon approaching my area turned off all lights. Keep trying to get the word out. What you are seeing is real, however I really don't believe that they are harmful, but instead are trying to inform. I have been within 5 to 15 ft of them.
These balls or orbs are all over the world. They have attempted to communicate with me, but it was like a mother trying to teach a baby it's first words. i had no idea what the flashes meant. At some point the governments of the world will have to get involved. This is 'Ball Lightening', in Oregon, this is common. Not unusual. Though, ball lightening doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, this is what it looks like. The green or red, blue colors last a little longer than the white ones.

Not to say there aren't UFOs but I have a similar view overlooking North Portland and they're just planes coming straight at you approaching PDX (when they turn you'll see the blinking right and green lights). Get some high-powered binoculars and you'll see.
The friend that was wit me n saw these things he confess that he n a friend had an expierence wit 5 balls passing over there heads one night like fast making some kind of noise over there heads n they just stare at each other like what the f&ck was that n then wierd thing he said that the time was different then what it was before those things pass them. Ive been seing a lot of weird lights in the sky this past year......from large red, orange, yellow and white. White flashing/ pulsing lights that fly across the sky, way faster ( and silent) than any airplane. I have been looking at the sky for 40 years and have never seen anything weird until last April. Nowadays Iam beging to lose track of the times I have seen these strange lights.
First of all 69colton69 that the hell kind of response is that? These objects are self illuminating and their not reflections from a cloud covered sunset! Even the helicopter didn't reflect any sunlight! Not to mention that both orbs manifested and disappeared without revealing any solid surface. Until I see one of these "orbs" zoom out at 6,000 mph (not hoaxed) then I'll consider the possibility. But this worldwide orb phenomenon is very explainable. Is it any coincidence most of these sightings occured on New Years just after midnight this year? It's people constructing homemade Chinese flying lanterns and releasing them. Eventually they disappear, because the candle goes out.

I just baught the Celestron Vista pix IS70 for viewing them through and it comes with a digital cam corder and photo camera. Got it here in the UK for £90 in the winter sale, Worth allot more than that. It's got a great focus on it. Nice catch by the way.

As a local Portlander, I too have seen these orbs but unfortunately they are distant landing lights coming into PDX.
However, the downtown blue orb captured is real. As I stated in another post I witnessed the same blue orb over Vancouver, WA in Oct 2010 with my girlfriend. With flight time in both helicopter and airplane, I know the difference between aircraft and unknown.
Sighing was over St John and SR500 at very low level. object was approx 4-6ft in diameter. Perfect sphere

Two days ago I walked into the back yard shortly before sunset, looked up at the crescent moon and there were four BRIGHT orbs in a line moving south to north. They seemed to be "out for a stroll". I got my camera, but it wouldn't focus on them (sky was too blue). Then I noticed that two of them had even smaller ones coming out, flying around them like moons, then zooming off. I live in the Phoenix valley and I still haven't found someone else that saw them. Crazy, they were so bright.

The second time I witnessed it, they were showing me they were happy, lil lights dancing around doing all kinds of tricks in front of my window, not sure of the message though.

@lilacstar1975 yeah, i live in portland and these really do look like planes. you can see them coming in from a long way off and they stay bright like that for a few minutes. however, the video he took of the blue and red orb hovering above the willamette river is legitimately a UFO. i witnessed it on a separate day myself. it went very high into the sky, was very fast, and made turns that would be impossible for an RC of any kind. at the end of the sighting it disappeared into the river.

I like you also carry a hd camera and tripod everywhere. I used to report these to MUFON but found them useless. to date 11/20/2010 at about 1830 hrs saw what looked to be like sprites or small bright lights in the sky in front of my home. Also a craft upon approaching my area turned off all lights. Keep trying to get the word out. What you are seeing is real, however I really don't believe that they are harmful, but instead are trying to inform. I have been within 5 to 15 ft of them.

At some point the governments of the world will have to get involved. This is 'Ball Lightening', in Oregon, this is common. Not unusual. Though, ball lightening doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, this is what it looks like. The green or red, blue colors last a little longer than the white ones.

Couple of hints: 1) Air craft at elevation may still be in the sun light. This cause optical effects.
2) Aircraft moving in a direct line toward you will look like it's just staying there.
3) Banking aircraft at a distance will cause optical effects.
Please learn to think rational and observe.

Ive been seing a lot of weird lights in the sky this past year......from large red, orange, yellow and white. White flashing/ pulsing lights that fly across the sky, way faster ( and silent) than any airplane. I have been looking at the sky for 40 years and have never seen anything weird until last April. Nowadays Iam beging to lose track of the times I have seen these strange lights.
