Yeah, if you're three plying, the navajo is great. I highly recommend it. The only problem with it is you really need to start wtih a BIG bobbin of fiber or else it makes small skeins since you knock the single down by two thirds its length.
Also, "cloud" is NOT mess! Spinning from clouds is awesome because you can actually do some long draw pretty easy on them. I have never been able to get the hang of long draw until I got a bag of raw alpaca fleece.
this is true. I have only experimented with Navajo plying and have never used it in a finished project. Does anyone have experience with using Navajo plied yarns? What did you think of it?
in order to make a 3 ply yarn... you don't have to do three bobbins and ply it. look up Navajo plying. you get a beautiful 3 ply yarn with one singles, twisted back on itself. very easy. I hope it works with your "cloudy" alpaca yarn!

2 ply is pretty flat, that is why some people prefer to ply with 3 singles, to help round out the finished yarn. It actually is visibly noticeable.

I've been told that a two ply is actually flatter than a single. I liked watching your laid back spinning style. Thanks.
