So YES he has broking a signed legal document and needs to prossocuded to the fullest extend of the law.
The enlistment contract says you're on reserve duty for two years and can be pulled at anytime after you serve what you signed up for. The army let him off, but he shouldn't have been given his discharge benefits for breach of contract. It's not like it's buried in the contract, it's page one, bold font. He should have been to a court martial, dishonorably discharged with no benefits at the least, Leavenworth at the most.

He has no idea what is it like in afghanistan his job is journalism in the miliary, so how can a nobody give procedual inquiries on how america should approach these 2 wars... And another thing, after his inital contract he reenlisted for 3 years, if your in the military you would know that he would never been in IRR. Nor does the IRR command had papers reactivating... HOAX all the way!
As for leaving the military. I could have left the military with no offensive action carried against me up to 6 months after entering boot camp. Most people in that I spoke to could do the same. No one can blame you for at least trying it out. Why penalize someone for wanting to help thier country but just can not take it. So they allow you to go. Now they will cuse and rant all day long when you tell them. But they will have to let you go.
I had a friend who joined the USMC only to later refuse to go to bootcamp. The office threatened him by saying they were going to take his citizenship away and that he would go to jail. He still sent the resignation letter and after a week he got a letter back that he was officially resigned. There was a SSGT in the office that like him, he would call him his little brother, so maybe he pulled some strings. IDK but he got really lucky.
That is normal. If he read the contract fully he would see that its ok to leave. On mine I had up to 6 months after boot camp to leave with no penalty. Just going in and giving the fake oath is not enough to obligate you. I say fake cause its not legally binding, They do that to make it feel official. So you can do the fake oaths and even sign on the dotted line, but you are still not obligated to go. You can also leave in boot camp at any time.
Boot camp does not train you for anything in the civilian life. It would be wasting your time. Unless you went into the Army or Marines and wanted to learn how to shoot. Other than that you will learn about how to recognize rank , fold clothes, dress. A bit of physical activity. Your true training for your specialty comes after boot camp. Your A school and if a 6 year enlistment possibly a C school. Also look at the papers you sign please. Read them well.
If you sign and do not read the paper work then I guess you do not care. Its a lot of paperwork in which you have to initial or put your social securtiy number in a lot to validate your knowledge of what is in the contract. If you blindly just sign here and sign there without reading. Then you deserve what you get . How all the horror stories of the military start out. My recruiter said this but actually this is what happened. Common saying. Cause they did not read and just signed.

That contract required, in return for benefits which he has no problem using, that he be "available" for military service his service of choice. Repeat, service of HIS CHOICE. Nobody put a gun to his head and made him sign that contract. And, trust me on this one, I can assure you, there is no clause in that contract which relieves one of service in the off-chance that he disagrees with the war.

As for leaving the military. I could have left the military with no offensive action carried against me up to 6 months after entering boot camp. Most people in that I spoke to could do the same. No one can blame you for at least trying it out. Why penalize someone for wanting to help thier country but just can not take it. So they allow you to go. Now they will cuse and rant all day long when you tell them. But they will have to let you go.

I had a friend who joined the USMC only to later refuse to go to bootcamp. The office threatened him by saying they were going to take his citizenship away and that he would go to jail. He still sent the resignation letter and after a week he got a letter back that he was officially resigned. There was a SSGT in the office that like him, he would call him his little brother, so maybe he pulled some strings. IDK but he got really lucky.

That is normal. If he read the contract fully he would see that its ok to leave. On mine I had up to 6 months after boot camp to leave with no penalty. Just going in and giving the fake oath is not enough to obligate you. I say fake cause its not legally binding, They do that to make it feel official. So you can do the fake oaths and even sign on the dotted line, but you are still not obligated to go. You can also leave in boot camp at any time.

Boot camp does not train you for anything in the civilian life. It would be wasting your time. Unless you went into the Army or Marines and wanted to learn how to shoot. Other than that you will learn about how to recognize rank , fold clothes, dress. A bit of physical activity. Your true training for your specialty comes after boot camp. Your A school and if a 6 year enlistment possibly a C school. Also look at the papers you sign please. Read them well.

If you sign and do not read the paper work then I guess you do not care. Its a lot of paperwork in which you have to initial or put your social securtiy number in a lot to validate your knowledge of what is in the contract. If you blindly just sign here and sign there without reading. Then you deserve what you get . How all the horror stories of the military start out. My recruiter said this but actually this is what happened. Common saying. Cause they did not read and just signed.

It's illegal because Congress cannot surrender one of it's crucial powers to the Executive. That's an extreme violation of the tenets of the Constitution: the separation of powers and preventing the formation of a dictatorship or monarchy. So congress performed an illegal act which led to an illegal act committed by Bush.

Each military branch has a certain mission the last point of each mission states:
"Such other duties as the President may direct."
The war is constitutional as well.The constitution states that war can only be declared if the president and congress vote for it, which happened for Iraq.
The constitution never states anything on reasons to declare war; at least to my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong.

I must've been doing something completely wrong... he said it's impossible to go to Iraq without committing war crimes (even though he's NEVER been there). Yet, I've been there twice and have neither committed nor witnessed any war crimes committed by anyone I worked with.
Though, we had the easy job... doing foot-patrols every day. I don't think I could've cut it taking photos and writing stories... all those war crimes and all.
