mdreiger - it really sucks that you're censored for playing the song for your video. I have to tell you I've told everyone that this was the best video on youtube. I've even educated my kids and others kids using your video. Thank you again for it, and I appreciate all your hard work, it's just too bad the corporate suits won't allow your fabulous work to be seen. Keep the faith brother!
Was Dion's version of the song removed due to Copyright? I can't seem to find Dion's original song anywhere on YouTube. Two years ago there were many videos with the original song. But then things have changed in two years...it would also be interesting to know how they got you to remove the music; did they inform you at all? YouTube is owned by Google and though Google is cool in many things, sometimes these "powers that be" get a little too big for their boots.
Why is this song taken off Youtube so consistently? And you can't buy the song alone on Youtube! It's really irritating. It's a great song - you'd think Dion would want people to hear and remember it! Ridiculous!
if more people could really listen to what their heart tells them instead of acting out of plain bigotry, ignorance or arrogance....we would get a much better world to live in...
I just had to see how the music synched with the video, so I played the song in another tab and watched this with the sound here muted. It is a masterful video and I suggest others do the same. There is always a way, given a bit of ingenuity.
As a Nation we must never fail to remember our Martyred leaders. We must instill their memory and respect for the ideals they cherished and promoted in each subsequent generation lest they be forgotton . @mdreiger John Wilkes Booth did it, but not for the reasons the his story books tell. Lincoln started printing the greenback after Tsar Nicholas II of Russia informed Lincoln that the Rothschilds were funding both sides of the Civil War with their central bank. Lincoln said to Congress in Feb 1865, " I have 2 great enemies, the Southern army in front of me and the financial institutions to my rear. Of the 2, the one to my rear is my greatest foe." Like the Kennedy's, Lincoln had to go........

If you don't intend this as a memorial of great men then I don't know why you would select this song. I know about facing the music. You don't have to put on the deep and condescending act.
I meant we as a society don't face the music. FIGHT FOR THE IDEALS EXPRESSED IN THIS TRIBUTE: VOTE FOR FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY IN NOVEMBER BY VOTING OBAMA/BIDEN....McCain and his theofascist running mate are direct threats to the US.....

After 9/11 it looked like that might finally be happening. Unfortunately we've all mostly gone back to the what can you do for me?
If Martin and Bobby had made it beyond 1968 shit would be better then it is now.
I'm not sure if i believe in everything the bible ays,but if when jesus returns. And the dead rise, someone get to arlington and pick John and Bobby up. Get Abraham and Martin some plane tickets, meet m in D.C and we are gonna go kick the door of the white house in.
RFK was far from perfect, but he was the best man to lead the country. He empathized with and embodied both the establishment and the outsider. I think it is important that we remember that lying on the floor after being shot, Bobby turned to his wife, Ethel and asked "Is everybody else all right?"
I just finished reading Evan Thomas' book about RFK and I truly believe had he lived the protests in Chicago would have been called off, as Abbie Hoffman once mentioned that as Bobby's hair got longer, so did the chances of the protests going through. That way, the Democrats wouldn't have scared away suburbia and RFK, with his amazing ability to bring all kinds of people together, could have beaten Nixon, tackled poverty, ended the war and made the world a better place.
I was working for the company in 71 and happen to work with Raul the one who did the deed of taking a good man out.And yes I know his last name however I have talked to certain peope that sat it is better to let it go and remain silent for it would bring possibe mayhem to the steets to seal a letter to be opened in 30 years from now.
I see your point Md.. I watch the documentary on RFK assassination yesterday night on cable's DOC channel and so have a better understanding of where you are coming from regarding the multiple individuals involved. The parallels between RFK's time and todays are daunting (minus the draft), and his speech in Indianapolis after MLKs death was superb. We need more leaders that are this spontaneous and real with people !
They are not technically subliminal because we are aware of them but in spirit they are suggestive nonetheless for anyone watching it for the first time.I saw your earlier comment on why you say you put them on, and to be honest they don't appear in any official published lyrics by the composer or singer Dion or cannot be heard in the song. If however they are indeed embedded then they are subliminal. If you want to make a commentary on your theories do it separately. The video is otherwise great!
I agree that the words "kill him", are not shown in the lyrics, but you can hear a different voice, barely audiable, say those words in the song and they are not inserted by me. In my interpretation of the song, I wanted them to be, "in your face",
to bring to the attention of those that are not yet aware that those assassinations were not done by "lone nuts", but were "orders to kill" by the supposed "ruling class".
Don't appreciate the stupidity of flashing subliminal messages of "Kill Him " on the video every time the images of Abraham, John, Martin & Bobby appears. Obviously the stupid who put this on is a hateful ignorant vermin !
number 1, you better go look up what the word subliminal means because you sure don't understand it. number 2, if you read my earlier post you would know the reasoning behind why I put those words in the video.
iwas born in 1980 and all these deaths happened before i was born. If they had 3 deaths too soon who would it be now? Anna nicole smith, Kurt Cobain and Phil Hartman i suppose.
If the people knew what we had done, they would chase us down the street and lynch us. - George H.W. Bush to journalist Sarah McClendon, December 1992
Anybody here seen my old friend Bobby? Can you tell me where he's gone? I saw him walking into the history books, as one of America's finest... with Abraham, Martin, and John...
This was a poignant song at a time when the cost of the Vietnam War was becoming unsustainable.....in lives. But, it was special to the young men in combat who felt a kinship. Those of us who were young in the 1960s experienced something very terrible, but life-changing in sobbering, positive ways. Please don't trivialize this beautiful musical statement. Frank.
It was written by Dick Holler, and first recorded by Dion in 1968. Marvin Gaye Also recorded it. You have heard the Dion version here. You can find more info on the subject; just google..."Abraham Martin and John". It tells the story very well.
This IS a tear-jerker..Wonder if animals got along until they developed vision? I doubt it,"You don't SMELL like me!"Ha! There will always be war and rumors of war, even when the cock-roaches eventually take over.maybe..,THAT's their secret to longevity,"hey bro, help me out with this 3 wk. old meatball"
Great job, excellent song backed by excellent imagary. Kill Him works well here. Three great men, all killed because they wanted to change things for the better.
this video just makes me cry, and those three men were so couragous about making a diffrence in the world and when I saw that john got shot in the head it just made me cry god bless to all three of the men who died
ok forget kurt anna and heath. Anybody try to name a modern day version of this song with thee other celebrities who died young. Besides, politicians put themselves in danger five times worse than celebrities do.
Why be so negative about what I said. If they made a modern day version of this song, which three would it be? This is so old because the recent death is MLK in 1968, I am talking about now and not 40 years ago!! Thats all I am saying for christ sake.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I suppose a mondern day version could be: Kurt, Anna and Heath as in Kurt Cobain who wasa 28, Anna Nicole Smith who was 38 and Heath Ledger who was 32 or something like that.
Love the song by Dion, and you have some great images here. What I don't quite get the "Kill him" flashing up on the images of JFK, MLK, and RFK. I guess it speaks to the senseless hatred of those who would assassinate prophets of social progress and equality.... but it's a bit out of synch with the song's message, "didn't you love the things they stood for..."
People who want change tend to get assasinated lets hope our friend barack will be fine, as a european i am afraid that the US will slide into civil war. God willing barack will be OK
This very sad and beautiful song still brings tears to my eyes after all this time...you did a great job with the video. Thanks so much for posting it!
40 years later and it stills hurts to hear this song, and yeah I too get all teary eyed about it..Hope Barak doesn't meet the same fate, although you wonder after what happened in Dallas last week, where the Secret Service quit frisking people and just let them in..Unbelieveable in this day and age..but not surprising..Thanks for posting this..
i'm not religious, and i know that more than 75% without a doubt he will be shot or atleast there will be attempts....think first black prez, the KKK, Neo-Nazis, any white suppremacy group will be after him...all i hope is he does some good before he is shot
I love the music alot. Who is this by and how can I get it?

If Martin and Bobby had made it beyond 1968 shit would be better then it is now.
I'm not sure if i believe in everything the bible ays,but if when jesus returns. And the dead rise, someone get to arlington and pick John and Bobby up. Get Abraham and Martin some plane tickets, meet m in D.C and we are gonna go kick the door of the white house in.

The saddest thing about this song is looking back on all those great men and then looking at our nation today.
A moronic president who invaded a country because "God told him too". BUSH IS NO CHRISTIAN.
We need men like Lincon, King, and Kennedy today. Not idiotic cowboys slandering this beautiful nation.

That song could wring tears from a rock :( I was 5 when JFK was shot - I remember they told us not to run out of respect for the President.

RFK was far from perfect, but he was the best man to lead the country. He empathized with and embodied both the establishment and the outsider. I think it is important that we remember that lying on the floor after being shot, Bobby turned to his wife, Ethel and asked "Is everybody else all right?"
MilesTrane21 3 years ago 2
Ghandi as he lay dying from a bullet turned to his assasin and said "I forgive you my brother." Thank you for sharing, I had no idea Bobby said that.
fringefries 3 years ago 5

Kudos again on the video...
GebkPty 3 years ago
They are not technically subliminal because we are aware of them but in spirit they are suggestive nonetheless for anyone watching it for the first time.I saw your earlier comment on why you say you put them on, and to be honest they don't appear in any official published lyrics by the composer or singer Dion or cannot be heard in the song. If however they are indeed embedded then they are subliminal. If you want to make a commentary on your theories do it separately. The video is otherwise great!
GebkPty 3 years ago
I agree that the words "kill him", are not shown in the lyrics, but you can hear a different voice, barely audiable, say those words in the song and they are not inserted by me. In my interpretation of the song, I wanted them to be, "in your face",
to bring to the attention of those that are not yet aware that those assassinations were not done by "lone nuts", but were "orders to kill" by the supposed "ruling class".
By the way, I consider my whole video to be
a comment Thanks for your post.

Don't appreciate the stupidity of flashing subliminal messages of "Kill Him " on the video every time the images of Abraham, John, Martin & Bobby appears. Obviously the stupid who put this on is a hateful ignorant vermin !
GebkPty 3 years ago
number 1, you better go look up what the word subliminal means because you sure don't understand it. number 2, if you read my earlier post you would know the reasoning behind why I put those words in the video.

iwas born in 1980 and all these deaths happened before i was born. If they had 3 deaths too soon who would it be now? Anna nicole smith, Kurt Cobain and Phil Hartman i suppose.

not like these people amounted to bloody much. Can't possible compare these three to Abraham, Martin and John.

Frank.

See "Evidence of Revision" Parts 4 and 5 on Google Video, and you will be blown away. Sirhan didn't kill Robert Kennedy.
See "The Assassination of JFK, JR" on YouTube. The "elite serial killers" got JFK, Jr. too.

1 love this song!
2 who sings it?
ravonra 3 years ago
It was written by Dick Holler, and first recorded by Dion in 1968. Marvin Gaye Also recorded it. You have heard the Dion version here. You can find more info on the subject; just google..."Abraham Martin and John". It tells the story very well.

ok forget kurt anna and heath. Anybody try to name a modern day version of this song with thee other celebrities who died young. Besides, politicians put themselves in danger five times worse than celebrities do.
jimbosox14 3 years ago
Why be so negative about what I said. If they made a modern day version of this song, which three would it be? This is so old because the recent death is MLK in 1968, I am talking about now and not 40 years ago!! Thats all I am saying for christ sake.
