It says a flag shouldn't be worn as clothing - That can be taken to mean you shouldn't cut up a flag to use as cloth to make clothes. It's a matter of interpretation (for me, also intent).

Did you know NASCAR displays the flag inappropriately. It should not be displayed laying flat (horizontal plane) and it should be free to fly.

@KanzlerM - When you are at the track there is typically a United States flag fying on a flagpole at every corner and a Large one at either the center of the track or at the care center (track hospital) - The one for the opening ceremony is just for TV, and normally it is an honor thing for the group that is holding it.

Happily, NASCAR still has the guts to have an opening prayer during the ceremony.
