Right now i have slow internet so it takes videos really long to load so i just waited like an hour to hear Jimmy Page's solo and i din't get one. O my goodness i am so mad. But i still love you Jimmy Page.
@kingmamba333 please no! no offense to them, since they have awesome guitar skills, but they would just ruin this pure-blues song with those damned shreds...
For people comparing Beck and Page, their approach to the guitar is too different from each other to say who's "best". To me, Page has always been about compositional ideas while Beck has always been about technical ideas.
Only that Page for the most part wasn't as awesome and inventive live as guys like hendrix, you wanted Jimmy, Eric and so on to build onto all their solos live, but i never ever liked a live version of Stairway that's longer than the studio solo.
Page would not play in front of Beck. I think he has complex against Beck, and as the matter of fact, he is so inferior technically compared with other guitarists. (It is not his strength anyway.)
stupid arguments over who can school who on guitar. so many players one has never heard of who can play this. It all comes down to what sounds and feels right. rock n roll is never perfect, but thats what makes it so awesome. classical guitar is probably more technically proficient and i respect that. however, rock n roll is better for a certain mood just like other genres are the same for other moods. Everyone these players on this stage have contributions to music that are excellent. comments?
To all those who hate on Jeff, he's playing w/out a pick and he's Jeff Beck. To all those who hate on Jimmy Page, look at him! He looks 150 out there. But still kicks ass. To all those who hate on Ron Wood, he's Ron Wood. To those who hate on Joe Perry, he has a cooler guitar than you. To those who hate on the rest, don't.
This is too epic to even describe - it is fitting and proper that all these greats shared the stage with Metallica - does that not tell the world something about Metallica's pre-eminent status?
hahaha jimmy page forgotten in background, funny performance, too bad the rock n roll hall of fame is a fucking joke. the nominees are laughable, terrible place to be in.
@kmvoss Dont get me wrong, the performance isnt what im bashing, its the rock n roll hall of fame itself, and i think anyone with a decent sense of music would agree.
i believe when you are looking from the front jason newsted is to the far right and if im not mistaken their new bass player robert trujillo is to the far left how the fuck did that happen look close you will see jason to james right rear and i think they only show tru once
iTS AMAZING HOW BECK HAS to ALWAYs have the lead even though he stinks it up so bad. i dont really like Kirk but he plays a helvu of cleaner then Beck and it sounds like 10x better.
Train kept a rollin' was so ahead of it's time with the hard rock/metal sound when it came out! A frikin great tune! One of the Yardbirds three best songs with Happenings Ten Years Time Ago and Shapes of Things. And for sure Kirk rehearsed that one!
Would Dave grohl be an addition to this group with Taylor Hawkins or Jack White from White Stripes? Give your opinion i can take any criticism.
I guess The Edge from U2 is kinda out of the question since The Edge is more of the effect pedal side man guitarist and not much of the gunslinger technical guitarists. Or Eddie van Halen or Ace Frehley.
@jonahtran1 I think it would've been great if Page had solo'd instead of Beck. Kirk's solo was good, Perry's solo was good, and Beck's was decent until the halfway point. Page would've blown them outta the water easily.
@HMH013ify Meh. I disagree. Both Page and Beck are excellent players, but I prefer Jeff. Not with 412941234 other guitarists though. I like it when he's free to do his own thing.
YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY: 1) google "top guitarists", see 4 lists by different publications / websites; Jeff Beck is listed 2, 3, 6 and 14; 2) buy Jeff Beck's Live at Ronnie Scott's DVD; and 3) open a cold one and watch Jeff Beck, world's greatest guitarist, in this DVD -- ENJOY!
@fanofgreatguitarists Out of all those numbers, which one is missing? 1. You can imagine him to be better than Hammett and Page combined, but everyone has different tastes.
I guess the big smile from Kirk while Beck was soloing was why??????? Because Beck rules! My 18 year year old son could cover Kirks solo! Kirk knows that Beck rules the world! And Yes Page is fantastic!!! But Beck is the man!

@PSNgamesun He is old dude. And besides, he is part of a VERY influential rock group Led Zeppelin. Stairway to Heaven. Dont tell me you dont like that song.
Some of the WORST live peformances EVER were by Jimmy Page (improvisation or not). In studio=awesome....live=hit and miss. Now, well, I think he'd be the first to admit that he's lost the physical ability to go up and down that guit on par with Beck, Clapton and other peers.
...and yes, I DID SEE HIM/Led Zepplin LIVE in 1973. Also Saw Jeff Beck this year and he is AMAZING! Really at the top of his playing right now. I loved Zepplin but Page has always been overrated
@mplsmelo50 You must be an experienced guitar God yourself....obviously extremely intimidated by Jimmy Page...he has done nothing for rock and the blues,in your finite mind span...... people do age with time ...the man is a legend and you are not that's the key here

The others are great but nowhere close to Page in his prime. Not as performers or as studio composers . That’s my opinion.
theres moments here where you get the sense that they all know Becky is the best... and i like all of these guys..... my real comment is.. Go get some Flea!
These guys all are playing the song but very few people know that "Dick Wagner" of Alice Cooper fame has a Gold Record hang up in his house for playing the Original Lead Solo on the Record in New York when he was a Studio Musican. The Producer Bob Erin didn't think Joe Perry could handle it so he called Dick.
@artiebassplayer indeed, don't forget Steve Hunter, they split the solos on the recording of Aerosmith's Train kept a rollin. and honestly imo both of them can school anyone of these guys..especially back then.
OK JIMMY IS BEST HERE AND THEY ARE ALL GREAT GUYS AND BASSISTS BUT HONESTLY I DON'T LIKE FLEA AND I THINK HE'S WORST BASSIST HERE... IT'S MY OPINION. BUT WHERE THE DEVIL IS JOHN PAUL JONES THE BEST ROCK BASSIST OF TODAY??? I WAS LITTLE SAD WHEN I DIDN'T SEE HIM HERE WHEN I FIRST SAW THIS
why the hell is jimmy page in the back??? hes the greatest one there...

Honestly, Gary Rossington should of been here. He is as good or better as most of them.

This is Dick Wagners song

These guys all are playing the song but very few people know that "Dick Wagner" of Alice Cooper fame has a Gold Record hang up in his house for playing the Original Lead Solo on the Record in New York when he was a Studio Musican. The Producer Bob Erin didn't think Joe Perry could handle it so he called Dick.

@artiebassplayer indeed, don't forget Steve Hunter, they split the solos on the recording of Aerosmith's Train kept a rollin. and honestly imo both of them can school anyone of these guys..especially back then.

Everyone on stage learned how to solo from Page, therefore no solo needed.
