  • Inspirational to say the least! And I thought canning would take all day. I'll get started this week!

  • @SultanOfShinola Just hit the FF>> button and "git er done" Thanks for watching brother.

  • I have pressured up a lot of chicken breasts, but I just cold pack them whole and not boil them first. It looks like you had frozen bags and boiled to defrost?

It's an excellent way to take advantage of good sale prices when you don't have a lot of freezer space.

90 min at 15lbs here. I could do 13lbs here, but I don't like chasing the gauge and the weight is 15lbs, so everything is done at 15lbs. :)

  • @Badboy7357 Thanks for watching and commenting. Bet that is tricky trying to stay right at 15lbs. That means standing at the stove almost for the whole 90 minutes ;(

  • @MrToeTagger372

I respect your thoughts. I have my stove dialed in, and even the knobs are marked for the 15lb sweet spot. I hit it right on the money, and if I go over, the weight will do it's dance and keep it down to 15.

Not trying to argue because your vid shows how easy it is. Just saying what works for me. My altitude makes the required pressure for meat so close to 15lbs it doesn't really matter. Let the weight to the work and dial in the flame.

  • @Badboy7357 Hope you didn't take that wrong. I wasn't being negative. I appreciate your comments and your experience. I'm always open to others ideas and methods. Just happened to catch a sale on the bagged breasts. Frozen wasn't my first choice, but it was the quickest. Canning is something I really enjoy. I spent many hours helping my mother (well I was really the clean up guy) but now I appreciate the knowledge she passed down. It's coming in handy.

  • @MrToeTagger372 I do the "lite" version of these videos not so much as a how to, but to help belay some of the "fear" people new to canning might have. Hopefully it will encourage them to at least try. If it looks too technical or time consuming, some people might be put off. Just my thoughts, brother. Again, thanks for watching and commenting.

  • @MrToeTagger372

Your good. I misread. I read "tricky" as "tacky".

I am a guy and got my first pressure cooker last year for Christmas...AND I HAVE BEEN USING IT. :)

I like to save money on good bulk sales on meat. I even done up ground beef and have a recipe for canned meatloaf I want to test.

I am also a prepper, so you know how that goes.

  • Hey brother. It's just a presto 23 quart. I used the stock from cooking the chicken in the jars. That's a bonus. Thanks.

  • Awesome. I did 12 qts of chicken stock on Friday. My first time doing it with a pressure canner. What brand of canner is that? Its a monster.

  • I wish canning went that fast!

    would be way more productive.

    thanks for sharing!

  • @SoCalPreppers lol. Time consuming, but worth it. Thanks brother

  • This ride was to fast someone get me off..lol..Great job

  • @starlordish ill slow it don a notch next time. :)

  • I just did a batch of McNuggets in sweet n' sour sauce,

    nam nam nam!

  • @YokoWenis Lol, thanks man.

  • I think I saw that chicken still moving. You supposed to kill it first...lol Man what you smoking to get you to move that fast in these videos.. Keep them coming brother!

  • @EastCoastPrepper Trying to keep it fresh as I can brother ;)

  • Love my yard bird!.....Thanks!

  • @arkansasprepper I like me some chicken.

  • Nice work Brother. Good choice on CCR very fitting. Keep up the good work and stay safe!

  • @MinnesotaPrepper Thank you Brother.

  • Love the music. Suddenly, I have the urge to, can chicken! :)

  • @LadyLimberlost CCR will do that to you. Glad you enjoyed.

  • I def dig your music preferences. Man, wish I could can that fast!

Never thought of canning that kind of chicken before, good idea.

  • @FireFighter0254 Thank ya sir. The way the economy is, I thought I better step it up a notch. 'Preciate you watching and commenting, brother.

  • Never had canned yard bird.

I do enjoy fresh yard bird killed the same day.

Have you noticed any change in the taste after canning? I have canned deer meat and noticed that it seemed to loose some flavor.

  • @cbarsonfire There is a loss of flavor, albeit slight. But then again, so is there if you freeze most meat. Thanks for watching.

  • @cbarsonfire I'm looking forward to spring, and starting a roost.

  • Comment removed

  • What is the shelf life on doing frozen chiken like that. Canning meat has always been an interest of mine. As far as safe eating, how long will that last?

  • @WhiskeyBlade From my experience, I've eaten it up to one year. It never seems to last long enough to check on longevity. I have seen videos on YouTube claiming 2 years or longer, but the quality is much detgraded. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

  • Nice you must be the fastest canner in the midwest:) Keep spreading the "massage"!

  • Looking good!

  • @usfreedom22 Thanks brother.

  • Do you put water in the jars with the chicken. God Bless

  • @jesusprepper I actually used the broth from boiling the chicken. Strained and de-fatted. I use it for flavor over just plain hot water. Thanks for watching.

  • l will bust the window out your car for that chicken................

  • @FUBARPROTOCOL I don't see a Church's chicken box. ;) Good one brother.

  • TOE!! You have been gettin down!! Love it! Keep up the good work...

  • @MyDaddysgirl44

What even us old folks gotta get our rock on every once in a while. ;)

  • Sweet, you make it look so easy lol God Bless

  • @cokeman250 It is easy. All that hype that surrounds canning is just that, HYPE. TT

  • Hell Yea! love the high speed too, I gotta try that. Yard bird incarcerated! LOL Take care brother-

  • @PopPrepper I'm just following in your footsteps brother.

  • Can you grill the chicken or is it better if you boil it? Thanks for the video. Be Safe Brother

  • @Drone1njj

Hey brother, grilling would work too. I chose to boil just for time sake, and also for the broth that I put in the jars with the chicken. But that was just my way of doing it (honestly it was my mothers ;). You can raw pack chicken, so I would assume any method of cooking would suffice. Just a side note though. Always, Always, heat canned meat to an appropriate temp, esp poultry. Again...thas what my momma said. Thnks for watching.
