Photoshop Tip - Quick Mask Tool

ok i have a strange problem when i do the quick mask and i try to change the color of what i selected everything except what i selected changes color please help me im going crazy maybe its some setting or something

You might try and change the settings of quick mask mode. double click on quick mask mode button to access settings dialog box

I need help!! MY QUICK MASK DOESNT WORK ANYMORE : when I use it, it selects where I draw but when I switch, the entire picture is selected and not just the parts I selected. PLEASE HELP thanks!

I used to use my Quick Mask tool all the time and now when I paint with it it's seethrough instead of red. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks :)
