@captain045 Both concaves include kick tails, gas pedals, and a carbon reinforcement bar. Either concave is fine for freestyle and freeriding, but the double concave is geared more towards speed. It locks your feet into the boar for slides. The AV Rocker has taller kicks and is better for freestyle riding.
hi im 12 soon to be 13. longboarding is basicaly my life.me and my friend vinny are making a video right now. any free time i get i longboard. i was just wondering if you would check out my channel if you have any free time to spare to see if im anygood. i am probably not going to get sponsered by you but i need to know what i need to improve to get sponsered by you,if u look at it i would be so greatful and i thought it would be cool to have a kid sponsered.thanks from KruizingKingz
@KruizingKingz Hey! Send your video to our email! The team manager will take a look at it and will respond back with any tips you could improve on, or with sponsorship opportunities.
@BLXFrandy The Tan Tien has a bit more flex since it's made with bamboo and is great for carving. The Apex 40 is a bit stiffer and more durable since it has a carbon reinforcement bar. It also offers two concaves. The double concave would be a great choice for you since you're looking to ride hills since it offers comfy foot placement.
im a small rider and love crusing but i want to get into advanced tricks would this board be good cause im definatley considering buying and would it be AVrocker or Double concave for my type thanks
Hello, I am wanting to get a new longboard but i dont know which one to get. I am 6' 1" and 160lbs, and I want to cruise, slide, and do some downhill. If you could respond it would help me greatly!!!!
You are a pretty small rider, if you are looking to just cruise around / carve (just for fun) check out the Original Pintail 37. If you want to get into more advanced riding / sliding or tricks you could check out either the Original Freeride 38 or the Apex 37. Either one would be well sized for you.
hey original. just wondering whats the main differences and size between the apex 37 and apex 40. i weigh 135 pounds, which one would be better for me?
@iiGnut Besides the 3 inch difference, the Apex 37 is also a bit lighter and more for flat land freestyle. The Apex 40 has kicks and comes in two different concaves, av rocker and double concave.
@WargasmJewce you would get a good amount of flex, but you do not have to worry about the board being too flexy and bottoming out because it hard a carbon reinforcement bar.
@augsterlee We have our Manhattan 27 and Apex 34. We are going to work on the Derringer but it may not be until 2013 that we have that board available.
Can you slide with any board/wheels? My board is a sector 9 and I have been trying to slide for ever. My wheels are 78a's im pretty sure. I'm getting real tired of stopping with my foot, I wanna slide so badly.
@HackYourFace yes, but certain types of decks, trucks, and wheels will help make sliding easier. 78a wheels are very soft and tend to grip the the pavement. Usually, you want to look for a wheel with rounded edges and a hard durometer, above 80a. As for your deck, some decks are specifically designed for sliding, such as our Freeride decks.
Hey Original, I'm 6'2 and a middle weight rider and was looking to buy the apex 40 double concave. I was wondering if it would preform well with S8's and red springs or if it's only a bushing truck kind of board because i want to do freeride still but mainly flatland freestyle
@WoleeJolee you can use Original trucks with the double concave! If you plan on freeriding you may want to go straight to the white springs for a bit more stability.
i want to buy your new apex 40 double concave but since i dont live in the states i am afrid it will get caugth in the border and racck up border fees might have to make a trip to the states or do you guys know a away around such a thing
@acklab94 We aren't responsible for any custom fees that may apply but you can go to fedex's website to see how much they may charge your country. Otherwise, if you come here, we have many dealers in the states that carry our boards.
@PayneKillerxD It's really personal choice and it depends on the type of riding you are more interested in doing. The 40 is a bit easier for freeriding since it comes with the double concave, and it also has kicks which helps for freestyle riding, however, it's a bit heavier than the Apex 37.

Hey originalskateboards! I'm thinking about buying a longboard of my own for the upcoming summer ( I live in Sweden ), but I got a hard time deciding which one to buy, looking for a city cruiser type board but I got no clue what type of category it would belong to, ie cruiser/carving, freestyle/freeride etc, any help / tips would be great!
@jevlaretards Hey! If you're looking for a good cruising board in the city I recommend checking out either the Pintail 37 or 40. They are 7 plys, so they're a bit stiff giving you stability, and they are lower to the ground, making pushing easy. They are also small enough to carve aggressively with when needed.
@Originalskateboards Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah I took a closer look at the pintail boards as well as on the torpedo 40, now I've only been on a longboard a few times last summer, so if you were a newbie just like me, which one would you go with? Any of the pintail boards or the torpedo 40? Besides, how long would the shipping take to europe (roughly)? Thanks again for the fast response!
@jevlaretards When I was first starting out I liked having a board that had stability under me, so the pintails are an easier board to learn on. The shorter ones are better for flat land cruising and carving, and the longer ones are a bit stiffer, giving you more stability if you are looking to ride down smaller hills.
@iMeeep The Double Concave would be better for what you are looking to do. There's a little bio (of sorts) on their website about it. You can't go wrong with ether; though, one will probably suit your kind of riding better.
@iMeeep the Apex 40 double concave would be much better for the type of riding you are looking to do. The double concave gives you a comfortable place to put your feet during slides or tucking at high speeds.
i think this video is set up, notice how the video cuts at the precise moment they get the board from under the truck... either way, i ordered the apex 37 2 days ago :P wonder how long it will take starting tomorrow monday with the 70 bucks UPS shipping (only one shipping to my country)
Are u going to have a new apex 37 for 2012, it would be realy cool if you guys could make the apex 37 like the apex 40 with all the things it has like concave, kick tails, and a little bit of dropthrough :)
People are saying the Apex40 is over priced. But people have been buying over priced Loaded boards for years without complaining, and I'm sure the Apex40 will last longer than a Loaded. My friends Tan Tien lost its concave in 3 months.
@techplusxbox they're both a lot of fun. If you really can't choose, rocker if you plan on doing more freestyle, and double concave if you plan on doing more freeriding. However, either concave can do both types of riding!
hey, i just ordered an Apex 40, i got purple stims with em, but what wheels would u suggest? and what would be better, apex 40 or the apex 37? please respond :)
heyy ive been longboarding for almost two years now and ive realized i like to just cruz arround town and bomb some hills here n there n carve .. any suggestion fo a board?
hey me again im considering getting the apex 40 for freestyle im about 5foot 11 and about 190 pounds( muscular) i do not want my board to break if i get it and cant decide to weither to get the double con or the rocker, what do u think i shud get?
@longboardingdays847 the Apex 40 with double concave would be a great board for you. It's a strong board that won't snap during freestyle riding, and the double concave keeps your feel locked in during freeriding.
what type of board should i get, right now i have a loaded tan tien it is 39 inches, i want a bard bigger than that but with a nice kick tail to do shuvits and no-comply kind of tricks i slide and freeride what would you recomend????
@GayRalphie You could either get the Apex 40 with rocker if you're more interested in doing freestyle riding and some freeriding. Or, if you are more into freeriding then the Freeride with rocker concave would be a good board for you. It has taller nose and tail kicks than the tan tien, and the rocker will help you while sliding.
@Cool4524 check out our pintail series. They come in 4 different sizes depending on your height, weight, and the type of riding you're looking to do. They're great beginner through advanced boards
@originalskateboards I need a board that is speedy around flat urban areas but can easily handle a hill the wheels I'm looking fir are 78a and its for everyday use what do you recommend I also need a low priced board
@maliqueg the pintail 37 would be a good board for you. It's small enough to get some aggressive carves in and can still handle some hills. Put the red medium tension springs in the trucks and you'll have more stability.
@hughgene yes! We can take a money order or check. Send our customer support team and email or give them a call and they'll help you out with the process
Hey I'm about 190 and a just a bit higher than 5ft, and I have never ridden a longboard in my life! Any suggestions? Something good to learn on. Thanks!
@Taco538 the Pintail 43 would be a good board for you to learn on! It's a stiffer, stable board, that's low to the ground to make pushing easy. Put some white heavy tension springs in your trucks for a higher resistance and you'll still be able to carve and be stable
I need a board thats good for sliding im 5 3 and was thinking of getting the apex 40 but i heard smaller boards are better for sliding. which board will be good for me?
Uh, i'm about 5'8/7 and i'm 70 kilos, and i'm wondering what board I should get, I wanna be able to carve down hills, but i also occasionally try to shuv it, usually only shuv it, and i'm hoping to buy a board soon, what board and wheels do you recommend ?
@cnimmas Do you want to do more of hills/sliding or more freestyle tricks? If hills is more of your concern but still want to so some tricks go with one of our freeride boards. If its the opposite then go with either the apex 37 or 40.
Hey original, I'm trying to decide if I should get an apex 40 or one of the freeride boards. Which one would be better for high speed freeriding and downhill and also be able to slide good? Also what is the difference in the concaves of the apex 40?
@BlackRougeTactics If your more into freeriding you should go with the freeride. The difference between the Av and the double concave is the double concave is more geared for speed/freeriding.
i know you get this alot but i am 5'9 and 120 pounds and i like freestyle and and crusing i also like to shuv it and carving so eny help on finding a longbored??
hey original, im 5'4 about 130-135 lb. right now im riding a freeride38rc and i LOVE it. but im looking for a board that is better for freestyle. if you could give me any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. thanks.
@hockeydude673 there different boards. apex 40 is of course longer has 2 different concaves nose and tail kicks better for free ride and freestyle. all around way better board. if your trying to decide which one is better get the 40 :)
No One's Probably Gonna Read This. But Im a 13 year old longboarder. I know theres millions of those but not 2 many with the will to be the very best. I am progressing fast.
If you just take a minute to check my videos. If anyone who reads this could press the "thumbs up" maybe out here longboarders out there will see it as well. Just a simple button press can put me close to my ultimate goal of getting on the original flow team. (i have only been boarding for a month and a half) thanks
Hey Original I was looking into Apex 37 awhile ago but I have fallen in love with the Apex 40DC for the versatility but I was curious are your Freeride decks a whole lot better at freeriding than the Apex 40? and before I wanted to make my purchase it would be great to see a video besides this one showcasing the abilities of the board!
What apex 40 should i get, coz i was thinking dubble concave but thought it would be awkard for flatland tricks and stuff because you have an other concave near the nose/tail. Anyone wanna help me with ideas?

hows the flex of the apex 40 is it stiff, snappy,or flexy?
pncho54 3 days ago
@pncho54 It's pretty snappy for freestyle tricks. It's not super flexy, and it's stiff enough for freeriding control.

@longboardingdays847 the Apex 40 with double concave would be a great board for you. It's a strong board that won't snap during freestyle riding, and the double concave keeps your feel locked in during freeriding.

Wow. Cool!
LongRangeBullet 1 month ago
what type of board should i get, right now i have a loaded tan tien it is 39 inches, i want a bard bigger than that but with a nice kick tail to do shuvits and no-comply kind of tricks i slide and freeride what would you recomend????
GayRalphie 1 month ago
@GayRalphie You could either get the Apex 40 with rocker if you're more interested in doing freestyle riding and some freeriding. Or, if you are more into freeriding then the Freeride with rocker concave would be a good board for you. It has taller nose and tail kicks than the tan tien, and the rocker will help you while sliding.

@Cool4524 check out our pintail series. They come in 4 different sizes depending on your height, weight, and the type of riding you're looking to do. They're great beginner through advanced boards

@originalskateboards I need a board that is speedy around flat urban areas but can easily handle a hill the wheels I'm looking fir are 78a and its for everyday use what do you recommend I also need a low priced board
maliqueg 1 month ago
@maliqueg the pintail 37 would be a good board for you. It's small enough to get some aggressive carves in and can still handle some hills. Put the red medium tension springs in the trucks and you'll have more stability.

Hey I'm about 190 and a just a bit higher than 5ft, and I have never ridden a longboard in my life! Any suggestions? Something good to learn on. Thanks!
Taco538 1 month ago
@Taco538 the Pintail 43 would be a good board for you to learn on! It's a stiffer, stable board, that's low to the ground to make pushing easy. Put some white heavy tension springs in your trucks for a higher resistance and you'll still be able to carve and be stable

hockeydude673 1 month ago
@hockeydude673 Hey if you want to slide and for your size, I suggest getting one of our 38" freeride boards.
Originalskateboards 1 month ago 2
@hockeydude673 yeah board with camber are a pain in the ass to slide
Powaslide 1 month ago
@hockeydude673 the Freeride 38 with rocker concave would be a good board for you if you're looking to do some freeriding
Originalskateboards 1 month ago
Uh, i'm about 5'8/7 and i'm 70 kilos, and i'm wondering what board I should get, I wanna be able to carve down hills, but i also occasionally try to shuv it, usually only shuv it, and i'm hoping to buy a board soon, what board and wheels do you recommend ?
cnimmas 1 month ago
@cnimmas Do you want to do more of hills/sliding or more freestyle tricks? If hills is more of your concern but still want to so some tricks go with one of our freeride boards. If its the opposite then go with either the apex 37 or 40.
Originalskateboards 1 month ago
@Originalskateboards I usually just carve down hills, I think the apex will do. What wheels do you recommend, everything else I know what to choose.
cnimmas 1 month ago
@cnimmas I would go with the orange stims

Hey original, I'm trying to decide if I should get an apex 40 or one of the freeride boards. Which one would be better for high speed freeriding and downhill and also be able to slide good? Also what is the difference in the concaves of the apex 40?
BlackRougeTactics 1 month ago
@BlackRougeTactics If your more into freeriding you should go with the freeride. The difference between the Av and the double concave is the double concave is more geared for speed/freeriding.

apex 40 vs apex 37 whats the difference
hockeydude673 1 month ago

Thanks
