  • Oi, could you put some units on your map page?

    Numbers by themselves aren't terribly useful, or meaningful.

  • @Tertiarymatt the units are in CPS which measures background radiation, the CPS the unit receives is in the beginning, then the rest per isotope. The best way to calculate dose rate from CPS for the average human would be .87 per thousand CPS.

  • @Globaldirtofficial That's great, thank you for the response. Some fairly hot sites in the west of the plant then. +200 microsieverts. Not to be a pest, but can this device give a breakdown of alpha/beta/gamma/neutron counts?

  • That's a multi-channel analyzer. It's a scintillator that can detect and identify radioactive isotopes.
