Maaan this video is tacky! Japanese dorks and subtexts and all! But full points for the song - Pete has such a good voice and I loved the album "Mad, Bad and Dangerous" and so did my friends - brings back a lot of memories... makes me feel v. nostalgic! The energy on this song reminds me of the energy me and my pals had when teenagers... I remember I loved the aggressive element of this song and how I learned a new phrase in English: Son of a gun - still seems such a weird euphemism!

Mattercat nailed it. This appearance was during the "Rip It Up-Live" tour which I own. There were 2 dancers but Pete makes a big deal about it being James' birthday the night of the concert and dedicates SOAG to him. I hope he got sum!

Pete leers at his 'backing singer' all the way through 'Rip It Up' & even taunts the other poor lesser dancer chap (even though 'lesser' had an equally buff bod & sexy hair. Unlike this twat). I bet he was fucking the poor monkey in this video. Well I have to say, underneath Pete's ridiculous hair/make-up/outfit, he WAS a fine figure of a man. Sah-wheet. Love these guys. Of course, if homeboy playing the headless bass had a guitar in his hand, it would have looked a little less fake since the bass part is clearly played using a keyboard and there are elements of electric guitar in that song.

...Were there ever that many guys in DOA? I don't recognize dude singing backup. Maybe he was Pete's trick-o-the-week and as a prize got to be in the video.
