They added more vocals and two guitars , where one is playing a different chord than the other. Cant remember, saw it in guitar tab somewhere, No, Slash didn't know the song. I thought Brian did an excellent job of doing the lead break, its such an iconic break it would not have been right to not do it like Kossoff recorded it. And Rodgers voice still going strong.

Ha HA! Sounded like Mr. May jumped the intro there when Rogers began to count. But..Its the drummers fault for not knowing the song and "faking" it. In the original version there is a back beat that signals the guitar to kick in. Then Slash flubs the guitar solo intro @ 2:54. Rock 'n roll legends at there best. It's all good.

This was one of the really great songs from Free, and it's done amazingly well by these guys (not really amazing considering the talent here). I've got an old recording of Free live that I keep in storage for just the right time, and get it out now and then to remind me just how "Bad" these guys were before there was Bad Company!

Free was a great band. Paul Rodgers is a great singer. I wouldnt pay to see this though. Uber-heavy guitar distortion of this performance reduces the song to a wank-fest.
Brian May is "classically based". Im not sure if that makes him better, but listen to many of the popular Queen songs. His progressions are much more based in classical music than the more popular blues/rock format.

Check out Free at the Isle of White 1970. A clean minimalistic performance with a clean sound. Superb. Worthy of a listen. In my opinion there is no comparison. But after getting this off my chest I am Alright Now.

I love when musicians from different bands get together and jam... its something different to hear so you can decide if you like it or not, and its probably just a lot of fun for them to play around with.... I love hearin stuff like this. Especialy when its some of the bests of the bests!

Free was a great band. Paul Rodgers is a great singer. I wouldnt pay to see this though. Uber-heavy guitar distortion of this performance reduces the song to a wank-fest.

Brian May is "classically based". Im not sure if that makes him better, but listen to many of the popular Queen songs. His progressions are much more based in classical music than the more popular blues/rock format.

I love how the comments on here are 50/50 Slash and Brian. I for one personally say Slash is better, but as a huge Queen fan Brian is just as awesome, both are legends basically put :)

Check out Free at the Isle of White 1970. A clean minimalistic performance with a clean sound. Superb. Worthy of a listen. In my opinion there is no comparison. But after getting this off my chest I am Alright Now.

Brian gets such amazing tone out of his guitar! The distortion is so smooth and rich, and his style is truly one of a kind. Nobody else sounds like him before or since, and that's the mark of a great guitarist!
