I never thought of a capybara as a pet. But I always found them very cute animals, ever since I was a child. They are easily found here in Brazil, but the only place where I saw them was in the Zoo, since they don't live in this state. By the way, Caplin is very very cute. (sorry abouy my bad english =/)

California has very strict laws about keeping exotic animals. You would need to check with your state and local governments on what is required. Make sure you read the FACute on Caplin's blog before considering a pet capybara. They are not the right pet for everyone, which is putting it mildly.
