@Arctica14 In my opinion Jani shouldn't be on this cd,im not saying he is a bad guitar player,but he doesn't have a certain style,for example,Alexi Laiho plays sweep picked arpegios,Emppu Vuorinen plays really melodic solos.But Jani doesnt have a style for what he is recognizable,in every sonata arctica album,his soloing techniques are totally different,for example in ecliptica and silence he plays neoclassic type of solos,and in latest albums his soloing has nothing do to with his old solos.

Alexi is a great guitar player. No hes probably not the 'best' but hes a fucking virtuoso. In my opinion Jari Maenpaa and Jani Liimatainen...hell even Petri lindroos should've been on here. All are finnish and have unique styles of playing. And if you think that Alexi isnt 'special' than your right. A fucking God is what he truly is. You say that because hes popular. It's people like that that piss me off. He's popular for a reason, that reason being he's a great player.

@ThrashOmega Jari Maenpaa has some insane guitar abilities, the guy's sweeps are out of this world. Jani Lilmata....O.o Is a beast in terms of raw speed. I've seen Laiho top them both in their areas of being awesome on guitar. But hes still worlds from being the best O.o I would say that with a little work and alot of focus, Laiho is the only one that could reach THAT level, the all time great level.

I searched it, and no, still not better than Alexi. Alexi has a way broader style of playing as he uses fast picking, sweep picking, tapping in his solos. Timo only seems to pick fast and think that's what makes him good, but no.
