I love this show, and this particular song is one of my favorite musical numbers! I noticed from some comments that some people hate that family used this song, but have you not noticed that Seth is clearly a musical theatre fan himself? Would love to see a little shop episode of glee too, that would be awesome!
@donjobs you do know that Family Guy was parodying this scene from Little Shop of Horrors, right? And that the musical Little Shop of Horrors is almost 30 years old?
I often listened to Ellen Greene way before Family Guy. I actually have to hear her voice sometimes. It makes me feel better. Thank you Ellen for all you've done!
I saw this movie when i was like 5 years old and when it was on family guy it took me so fucking long to try to find out where it was from and I finally remember now haha
i hated the fact that they did this on family guy and not on glee, but get over it guys this is just plain a good song. ps. that is her real voice. she was on pushing daisies and she sounded just like that. also this is a pretty comic song. stop taking it so seriously.
Stop fucking hating. Yeah I watched it on Family Guy, and I liked the song and that's why Im here. Grow up for fuck sake, get some perspective insted of blaming people for liking it, if you don't like the show - fine, no one gives a shit, but don't blame the show for something. Seth Macfarlane loves music as much as you do, and thank god that he actually have the power to make kids nowadays remember stuff like this. Cuz c'mon, how many views do you think this video would have without Family Guy?
How about thumbs if you loved this song before or after seeing it on family guy..and think the family guy parody is funny..and your not going to shit your organs all over this video because family guy made a parody of it. It's not like it was even taking the mick out of it. Just grow up people.
It's a reference to TV shows in the movies in the 50s and early 60s. Network regulations wouldn't let TV shows show anybody (even married) couples sleeping in the same bed. It makes sense since she is imagining their ideal life as like out of a 50s sitcom.
@crimsonbeauty9 Okay!!! We get it!!! You don't like the Family Guy reference.......Seth McFarlane may have a crude sense of humor, but he brings light to a lot of classic oldies....you can tell he's a fan of Little Shop of Horror
The broadway version, vocally, is far superior. However -- Ellen Greene is, was, and will ALWAYS be Audrey to me and millions of others, squeaky off-pitch voice and all. And while many great broadway performers have portrayed Audrey over the years, Ellen actually WAS Audrey.
@jmberg627 Maybe, but I prefer the movie here MUCH better. Ellen Greene's version of the song is definitely my all-time favorite, plus the way it was arranged in the movie version sounds better than the Broadway version to me.
The panning crane shot at the end of the song was so long, that they needed 2 cranes, one on top of the other, to complete the move. They faded the shots into each other so you wouldn't notice.
@khalifisrandom Plastic on the furniture was all the rage in the 60's. In fact, my grandma rocked plastic on the furniture well into the 80's! Probably because of all of us horrible grandkids running around she didn't want it to go out of style... LOL
@army7989 Jeez I hope not. If they did I hope it's back then, because I could not live like that today! Heck I didn't get out of some of my college classes before 9 pm, so imagine a bedtime at 9:15!
@pricefan2007 because both songs were composed and written by alan menken and howard ashman.
