Yeah, I have a 9800gtx+ too and it runs it great! Have a look at the video response. It runs at 30 - 40 fps whilst playing, Occasionally dips to 24+ :)

u using vista or xp? ive found gta iv works better on xp by about 5fps lol. but it runs better on xp. i hate vista anyways. waiting for windows 7 to get here. the beta pwns and thats suppose to have bugs and shiz so the full retail version should be amazing :D

yes its compatible wwith 95% if the hardware your talking about vista 64 bit but people use 32 mostly and xp 64 bit is way worse then vista 64 bit.

Probably cuz your destroying your cpu with that clock... I know many people overclock more but using a core 2 duo, you shouldn't need anymore than 3.4-3.6. After that, performance is about the same, especially playing this game... only way your going to get higher fps is a new processor.

hmm you cant say that as you didnt know the whole story.... When vista was on the machine i had a E7200 not the E8500 :) i also had a crap gigabyte board that had sata driver problems when trying to use a 64bit driver. the E8500 is fine and super stable it maxes around 50C and im using this nice big Zalman cooler... the only thing im worrying about frying is the mobos north bridge.

dusnt matter if you have a GeForce 8400 GS you would have same frame rate, you need at least a Core2Quad Q6600 to play this with "playable" FPS

I also have GeForce 9800GTX+ with a Core2Duo E4500 2.2 GHz and I get the same FPS when I had a GeForce 8400 GS...

L2 cache, and multiple cores 2 render graphics and textures at playable fps. I have a q6600 processor with 8mb L2 cahche overclocked at 3.0 and have a 9800gtx+ stock clocked, and i get 45-60 fps, with high settings.

p.s this game does take advamtage of all 4 cores. when playing, core 1, 2 get used up 2 98% and 3,4 get used upto 78%.

its is most likely your processor. try going with an intel core 2 duo above 2.6ghz. if u have the money to spend there only a little over $100au then overclock it

of course, the i7 owns everthing. you could play that game with an 8800gts and get similar frame rates as long as you have that processor. try overclocking it, you would get 60!

But I do agree that the game is poorly optimized...I play it mostly on the 360...I only picked up the pc version because of the video editor:)

100% , i can play it well on a E2180 @ 2Ghz , 2 GB RAM , GeForce 9500GT ( resolution : 1152 x864 ; texture quality : high ; renderer quality : low ; and the others lowest settings (not too important) ; i get a 20 fps day and 30 fps night ( i suppose , i didn't get in fraps or something ^^ i am just guessing) but it's verry playable , so you should play it even better than me ;)
