In a sense of placing them with a genre, they would be considered power metal. They step away from the standards of power metal often, however, much like Iced Earth, Symphony X, etc etc., but overall Power Metal is the proper descriptor.

In my case, it's their non-Power Metal flairs that I find enticing.

Meaning that if Khan ends up being replaced by yet another Dio-disciple cookiecutter PM vocalist, I will likely stop following the band's work.

There are vast differences, yet both bands fall under the category.

One is a particularly shitty deathcore band, and another is a groundbreaking NWOBHM band.
