Oh Jim, ...... you pulled a "kelly". LOL Very funny to see the ash unexpectedly fall. Now I know how people feel watching my videos. Quite entertaining. :) Have you ever tried cutting a cigar with a large punch? I used to use them all of the time. Leaves the cap in a much better condition. (but I'm not sure I like the small hole) It's amazing how a good cigar can bring a big smile to ones face.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I have never used a punch. Maybe I should look into getting one. I am going to order a few Olivas when I have the bucks so I might add a punch in too if they aren't too costly...My cigar cutter is a cheap one and I think it may be partially to blame.
@PipesterJim I didin't notice, but do you wet the end of the cigar before you cut? Sometimes those cigar cutters get dull and just stop working well. I've had a bunch of em overy the years. Cutting is always problematic.
@PipesterJim It helps keep the band from getting fouled up with the cut. (you don't need to wet with a round punch) I wish they made punches that were about as big as a .45 shell, that would be even better)
Lovin' it Jim!! I'm just starting out with cigars but I have to admit that if you want the good stuff, which you do because you are smoking a cigar, the cost is really up there...i wonder how people manage to smoke these everyday and this afford to eat!! ;-) Hope to see another Friday Night Cigars soon!!
@juvetaz my old boss in Manchester used to wander around the office with an enormous Cohiba or RyJ, smoking all day long. Completely illegal but it was his company and his building so who was going to tell him not to?! Of course, estimates of his personal wealth in the press had him pegged at around £360,000,000 and if I had that much cash, I would smoke Cohibas all day too!
@PipesterJim Wow!!!!! That's a lot of cash!!!! Yeah I reckon i would probably wander around with a Cohiba all day too...and a Ferrari...or two...and a blonde and a brunette...or two...or three!! ;-)
Hi Jim, what a generous gift. I'm fond of the Bolivar cigar range. Some great flavour. Great review mate.. What was the music? Have a great weekend. Cheers, Tim
@Milverton68 Hey Tim. I have to say I was expecting something substantial but not so lip-smackingly powerful as it turned out to be. I definitely won't overlook the Bolivars in the future! The music is Bill Evans playing solo.
A fellow countryman of yours who happens to own a bull terrier sent me one of those....and it was freaking AMAZING....top marks...good review! cheers my friend
Was just thinking last week that you have given up on the old cigar front glad to see your back with them, Are you going to be doing a regular spot ? Great to see you enjoying your smoke !! NICE
@daveaj42 I have a couple more cigars in that I will probably do videos for when I smoke 'em, but it won't be regular until some other things are settled and I can afford to splurge on a regular basis. I think one of those things costs about £12 (or $17) so I have to be feeling flush to justify it!
Viva Bolivar! That's a fine present your friend set you up with there, Jim. Glad to hear it smoked well, packed with flavor, just like a Cuban stick should be.

Perhaps if you spent more time with the cigar - rather than giving a continual running commentary on it - you'd enjoy it more.

Great to see you enjoying a Cuban Jim. I have a Montecristo sitting on my bookcase staring me out. No! I'm saving that for a rainy day :-)

@mibgd I wonder who that could have been?!
The cigar certainly exceeded my expectations. Probably a new favourite and I will definitely check out some other Bolivar offerings when I can.
